    They turned out cute, oh how I would have loved to have had resin back when I did dry/pressed flowers over 30 yrs ago.

    Lovely, I have some very old pieces with dried flowers in them. I thought the art had died. I'm so happy to see it being revived. Thank you for sharing.

    I have that same brown mold but barely use it I'm inspired now to pull it out. That orange mold was my very first resin mold and it's still my favorite. I wore mine out and I never found another one.

    I have to mention what an intuitive move it seemed like to change the yellow flower to the green fern on the bird pic. I was so happy when you did that, I was like Yes! Thank you for all your tips! God bless!

    Hi there! Love the tutorial--I may try this some time. :D One tip I have for you though is that your method of opening the bail technically deforms them. If you instead grab the open end and turn it sideways it will work better, and be easier to close. :)

    Those came out so pretty. You need to find some 4 leaf clovers to do this way. I had one that was a mini that was grown in Mexico. They had real mini 4 leaf clovers & real mini roses inside the resin. I wore that clover my entire pregnancy because I was high risk. I never took it off until after my daughters 1st birthday. It was so pretty. I would still have it, but it was stolen. I really loved what you made. TYFS

    Ahhhh wow, these cabochons are so cute! So just drying them in the silica gel is all I've got to do? And then apply a little coating of resin to the flower petals to prevent bubbles? I just turned 51 and had this beautiful perfect rode on my bush--the only one. I snipped it off and pressed it in a very thick/heavy book for a week. It was FLAT. But as soon as I put it into the resin, it went from pink to this ugly ugly ugly brown. Ruined. I'm new to this. I've got to get some silica for next spring's flowers. So much for my 51st keepsake rose coaster I tried to make. (My dad died young at 52, and I'm 51 now, and it looms on my mind; I wanted a keepsake to remind me of how precious time/life is, but it's ruined). I thank you for the lessons you teach us, you are my new favorite YT channel to watch. :-)

    So simple but gorgeous, they let the natural elements just radiate their beauty. However if you have craft shows coming up, it's going to be pretty easy to create a bunch to have plenty lower priced items.

    I am so excited to have discovered you! Love these pieces and the way you explain everything so clearly. I bought some wood slices and I see you used a smaller version for jewelry. I want to use mine to hang on the wall grid style--four rounds by four rounds. Do you have a tutorial for doing resin over irregular shaped objects?

    Fun fact: if you use UV resin, you can skip the drying process. 👍

  • @kathyd856

    You can reuse even the cheapest brushes, by cleaning them with alcohol immediately after using them in the resin.

    It looks fun but i think between the cost of the dried flowers, drying medium, resin, cabashon trays, etc its a bit spendy. Pretty though. Thanks for sharing

    hi i'm new to resin but trying to learn . I have a question , when using a silicon mold that has matt finish could you ad the hi gloss finish to the inside of the mold before adding the resin instead of add to the finished product after you pop out the resin from mold .

    • @thefrugalresinista
      @thefrugalresinista  3 года назад

      I use a tiny drill bit from my Dremel tool. I don't remember the size for these. I based it on the screw pin size that I was using at the time.

    It appears that you do not reply or respond to comments...which makes me wonder whether I should bother to leave one or not...well everything about your video is lovely...except for that you need to zoom your camera in! Everything is WAY WAY WAY too small! And almost impossible to see what you are doing! Other than that, it is a very nice video and you are very easy to follow and explain and show things well! And your work is very pretty!

    I totally enjoyed this video. I am a newbie with resin and mostly make coasters. The old nag in me asks that you please stop calling us viewers "you guys". I loved all of the suggestions you gave us on how to dry flowers before putting them in resin.
