This vid was most useful in helping me decide on the Salamandra. I have stereo rackmount fx as well as a Fender 6G15 Tube reverb and a Friedman Motor City Drive. This will allow me to put the 6G15 in front of everything, -which makes for some harmonic overtones. (also the way Mr. Dale had intended it to be used)
Salamandra, love it. That plus a dual like a One Control Black, and you're good to go. Perfect for small boards. The re-routing and presets on the Salamandra give you a lot of tonal flexibility. You got chops, man!
Hey @JayLeonardJ, nice review :) I had a question regarding the Chalaemeo switcher, especially on the 5th isolated loop. Since I'm also the owner of a Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp, I was wondering when you used the amp tremolo effect, if the switcher can actually allow you to select between the tremolo and/or the reverb of the amp ? As the original amp's footswitch has 2 independants buttons, does the chalaemeo switcher can activate/desactivate both of the effects ? I assume it must activate both of them, and then you just have to play with reverb's volume knob or tremolo intensity to enhance one or the other, is that correct ? I was also wondering if the channel switch might be working with this amp as well, because of the 2 separate preamp channels, there might be some phase issue ? Also as there is no footswitch to really move from one channel to another, I wonder how the chalaemeo switcher car achieve that. Thank you very much in advance. Keep rockin' ! Love you're videos ;) Anthony
I'm considering purchasing the Agamidae, but the manual is pretty useless on how to program it. It would be great to see a demo of the Agamidae by itself showing how to program it.
Can someone explain to me why anyone would get a non programmable switcher??? If you can't flip flop between effects then what's the point?? You still have to tap dance to switch pedals on/off...
Usually for people with cramped boards who accedentally move knobs or activate other pedals when switching. It keeps all the extra cables and pedals out of the signal path when they are off (great for pedals with bad buffers or no LEDs).
@@JayLeonardJ Yes, all valid points - and it keeps those boots off your precious pedals! I'm a size 11 Larry Leadfoot, and would rather stomp on an affordable, well-made switcher than my vintage Fuzz or KOT clone every darn time I need them on or off :D
I bought an One Agamidae Tail Loop switcher on september 2022, january 2023 it has started to freeze live and I have to swich off/on the pedalboard to make it disappear, very disappointed..
Dude, sorry that it croaked on you live: definitely know what it feels like when things break down mid show. Did One Control help you get it back on track?
I have a Black Loop that I run my ODs through. Currently have a Disaster Area controller for another midi pedal, but I wonder if the Crocodile would do both?
Did you get the Croc? I have a Disaster Area DMC-3XL controlling 4 Source Audio pedals, and a Boss ES-8 waiting in the wings. The Boss is pretty daunting, I'm struggling to understand it all. Wondering if the Croc might be a bit more "old guy" user-friendly :)
Am I missing something, or does Agamidae more or less render Chamaeleo as obsolete? You can dedicate any of Agamidae's loops to your amp's preamp section, then you still have 5 loops, split between amp's front end and amp's FX loop. If you use 5 loops on Chamaeleo, it knocks out the amp footswitch functionality. So it's more space hungry, costs more, and all you get is the tuner out and a buffer (which many pedals do anyway, and is less necessary when you're bypassing all your pedal with a loop tail).
I bought an Agamidae in September 2022, never had a problem, the looper froze on stage last week January 2023, I did loop 6 pedal maybe It is too much. I have now only 3 pedal, let’s see next time but pretty disappointed.
Great demo and good enthusiasm, man! Question for you. In the Chameleon, is it possible to use the Tuner/Mute out option as a channel to send to the board? Is the signal just like an ordinary line out signal in terms of volume or gain or whatever? I don't really need a tuner out option (the TC mutes for me), so wanted to find another use for that. It's either the Chameleon or Amigadae for me.
hey Jay, I was wondering, I know you said this can be used to change the channels on my amp but will it also switch from the group of pedals as well? if so, do you know any other loop switcher pedal, maybe a bit less expensive, that do just about the same thing? thanks man
Great video thanks! I need to place a delay AND a reverb pedal in my amps effects loop and several pedals in FRONT of the amp.Can I buy/use the Chamaeleo Tail Loop MKII AND a 1 loop box and make it work for what I need? Or do I need to buy the more expensive Crocodile Tail Loop? Thanks!
Nobody is put off by the LOUD click? The whole reason I want this is to bypass a pedal that has a loud footswitch and use something else thats softer and quieter. This isn't it though. Sentary by TC might work though
I've recently purchased the "Chamaeleo Tail Loop MKII" switcher. Soon after unboxing, I have noticed that the Chamaeleo switcher arrived with three small scratches on the front side of the aluminum enclosure. It looks like these scratches were treated with black touch-up paint or a black permanent marker, to make them less visible. Has anyone noticed something similar on their One Control switchers? Could it possibly be that these tiny scratches are an expected result of the cutting and holes drilling process carried out during production and - therefore - the touch-up paint has been applied at the manufacturing plant, as part of the Quality Control process and visual inspection before packaging? Thank you!
I just picked up my Agamidae today and I cannot figure this out. The instructions that came with it are a waste of paper for new comer like myself. I don’t need to program, just be able to select one or multiple pedals. My problem is it just clicks through each one but not two at a time. I’m sure this is an easy thing, I just need some guidance. For now, I just want to use it as the first two you reviewed.
Yeah, some things definitely get lost in translation with those manuals sometimes. I think your pedal is in "Recall" mode. Hold on to the far right button (Bank/Loop 1) for a few secs and you will go to "Edit" mode. In that mode, it will act like more like a pedalboard and not like the programmable switcher.
I have about 10 pedals and a simple Loop switcher it just turns them all on and off no presets it's just a waste of time for me I'd rather just have all by pedals switched on a front row switch that way I don't have to tap dance around and risk turning all the knobs accidentally push the button and go
I love the way you play "Don't Let Me Down" and "Sleepwalk" :)
I wish there was a UK distributor for this brand. Lovely playing, Jay.

Was just saying to myself earlier that it feels like it's time for a.new jleonard video
Thank you so much !
okay the way he played sleep walk was nice
is there a way to keep the reverb or delay trails as i switch a loop off?
IF there have high gain pedal, CAN I use 4-cable-method?
HOW about using 4 cable method in loop switcher?
THANKS
"Dont let me down" at 2:28 just touched my soul realquick lol
Thanks so much!

I've been looking for a good demo of these. Thanks 👍
ok ez enough to select but can't have them in your order of who's in pos'n 1,2,3 etc. ? Sounds are different for who's on first, 2nd

I've had the Xenagama for years. Now I need a larger one, with MIDI capability.

ah i see later he one control Salamandra has the order but for only a few; This needs to be on the Big one control also !

Yup! Just piggy back the 1 Loop box off of channel 5 of the Chameleo and you should have your Reverb and Trem good to go in your FX loop.
why is oneControl not even in Andertons list of switchers ?
Off topic question have you tried the ron ellis strat pickups? If so how did they compare to the Virgil arlos?
So I got a “don’t let me down” vibe first. Then “Lenny”. I didn’t recognize the third one though.
The 3rd one is "Sleepwalk"

FWIW, I noticed no such flaws on my Agamidae switcher. It's certainly not an expected result of a manufacturing process.

Looks like the switches are too close together

You can't program individual loops to switch the channels on your amp while activating the loops. Thanks but no thanks.
thats funny I thought this was a Looper...its a switcher
