That's no moon!
Watched your content for many years now, and I gotta say I still love it ❤
He broke the Manley record of fastest trip to the Mun.
I've managed to get 300k throttle, set both sides to pointing straight up and put both at 100
By the end of its service, the U.S space shuttle's liquid engines had their thrust improved by 15% thanks to improvements in plumbing technology, but they didn't feel like revamping how the shuttle calculated thrust to set this to be the new 100%, so they just let it calculate it as 115% because that was easier.
ok, now thats the way to reach speed of light in vanilla without mods and *literally ground braking* bugs
everywhere in 3 parts, kal controller, command pod with monoprop, and a monoprop engine
There’s a petition to name 2020CD3 Minmus, no joke. It’s almost to it’s goal so minmus will be our moon!!
You need to break all world records in stock KSP now
This is what the devs meant when they said KSP 2 would have torch drives
Wait, Infinite fuel? You really can de orbit a moon now. 8D
Except it's not programmed that way
@@JoeMakaFloe don't destroy my dreams ! I know of rails, but maybe the devs have left one moon somewhere open?
@@PsychoticusRex Go build a 'moon' from one of the asteroids. Or de-rail the moon.
I hope ksp doesn’t patch this. This is truly what makes ksp so fun
Danny2462- creator of controllable Kraken engine! Dat impressive
Thank god theyre making ksp2, its propably impossible to fix the spagetti code they were making for years.
are you suggesting they remove spaghettification?
The Flying Spaghetti Monster is in KSP, taking it out is sacrilege.
Also this bug (reliance on GUI for input restriction, GUI doesn't do that too well/can be circumvented, no server side input checking) is a pretty common mistake. Pops up in websites all around the world, but I would have thought most people (programmers ...) had "check the input" down pat by now.
Though admittedly, a bug in KSP will not lead to a break-in on a server with sensitive data (of other people) or similar --- it's not that much of a security risk. Except for the Mun folk, who will get stuff rained on them all day ...
I hope they won't fix that.
Guys... the final reading on maximum velocity... 28% the speed of light...
Actually it was 0.028% of the speed of light.
"Am I a joke to you?" -Mathf.Clamp
So, this one really goes to 11.
And maybe even 12.
Danny breaks KSP so well, even his subscribers begin to do the same
when you're using this ship, i don't think there is any option BUT to go in real time
Gotta try this before they fix it
Another way to get infinite fuel valves too I suppose
STILL not patched in 1.11
Honestly why even use kraken drives at this point
I can't seem to find the KAL-1000 in sandbox mode.
@@avi8aviate You need breaking ground expansion
@@ossian882 o
@@avi8aviate lol
well, this isn't TOO cheaty, because your DV is still the same, and you get worse heat management problems in stead, so you could probably argue that its not cheating...
I like this! I once buildt a craft called “GoAnywhere Superspeed Rocket”, and it used ion engines to recreate this glitch, but it was very unreliable and spun a lot. But recently, i got tired of it and used a Poodle engine instead, with some landing thrusters. I named it MkII Flabbergast. I have already done an 8 day eve mission and reached the Mün’s SOI from LKO in JUST. 4. *MINUTES!* (I also done Jool 5 in 15 days with the ion one and i recently went to Moho in a week.) THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME THIS GLITCH ALL THAT TIME AGO, DANNY!!!!!!!!!
Update: I have since made the Falcon MK I. It’s an SSTO that can go ANYWHERE and, in less than 5 minutes, it can accelerate to the NECK BREAKING velocity of over 300’000 m/s. I am also in a Laythe colonisation project, for which i built the first base: a floating base in the middle of the ocean.
Bro you seriously used this glitch in your career/science mode or you just was having fun in a sandbox?
@@s4nkkk0 sandbox
@@ThatBoiOnLaythe thank god
you should pair that with the zero drag glitch to get out of kerbin faster!
That's some serious thruster overclock!
how about flying past the solar system at lightspeed?
nice video
Tfw even danny needs fins sometimes.
This seems awfully familiar...oh (SN9)
Oh lawdy Danny has a new tool to absolutely break KSP with.
Do you have to brake everything.
“Peak at 150” they said...
Gonna make some expanse style shit with this.
I hope youre a beta tester for ksp2.
AHHHHH
NNNNOOOO! THE KAL-1000 isn't included in the base game. I can't afford the expansions. CURSE YOU COVID-19!!!!!
Orbital mechanics are for chumps.
This man is fricking crazy😂😂😂😂😂
is this the epstein drive?
i see Expanse, i upvote
This one did kill himself...
This is absurd
Holy shit, you just detonated a nuke on the Mun. I'm not even joking.
E = 1/2 mv^2 - at 10 tons and 83206 m/s, 3.5*e^13 J of energy released on impact. 1 kt of TNT releases 4.1*e^12 J, so you're at just about 9kt TNT equivalent. The Davy Crockett tactical nuke releases ~10kt TNT on detonation.
Davy Crockett are actually sub-kiloton though, they're around 10-20 tons according to Wikipedia. The yield of Danny's spacecraft is closer to that of Little Boy (~15kt, or ~63TJ).
@@quwaz11 Yep, my bad misread. So not a tactical nuke, a full-on Hiroshima.
You actually low-balled the mass by a lot. 5 vector engines alone is 20 tons. I built the craft myself and it masses 39.8 tones (give or take small tweaks to the fairing). So the equivalent is actually 32.93 kT, or the equivalent of 2 'Little Boy' bombs (the one dropped on Hiroshima)
I hope they never remove this. It’s just too fun to remove
I think devs must add "GlitchBox" Game mode where you can use old *glitches* and *More!*
Like in the f12 menu?
@@techgamer6875 you mean the debug menu?, i use it to turn unlimited fuel on or hack gravity
@@MarkProsXD You Mean krakens mode?
I think they deleted the KAL-1000 in a later update.
I have been informed that it's still here and is in DLC.
TL DR: Today, Danny """accidentally""" made an improvised Torch Drive.
The question now remains: we know that making a Kerbal jump into the exhaust of a stationary rocket engine will fling that dear Kerbal away, but will the Kerbal go faster if that engine has its throttle opened to XXXX%?
And what happens if they jump into the nozzle of an engine set to -XXXX%?
@@duskyrc1373 *vacuum sounds*
So you've overclocked a rocket engine?
So according to Kerbal science, if I drive my car in reverse for 16 hours, I can fill up my fuel tank.
You need to switch it to negative throttle output
KSP, don't delete this. Seriously, don't.
and they to this day they still didnt!
Still haven't, likely never will.
KSP2: *Adds metallic hydrogen for high power, fuel efficient rockets*
KSP1:
Negative thrust gives you fuel.
*excuse me what the fuck*
Time reversal?
Probably because the formula for fuel calculations is [-1 x max fuel consumption x throttle] and the negative from the throttle cancels with the negative already in the equation resulting in a positive fuel flow
Infinite thrust mass relay?

Y E S
Normies: I overclocked my cpu!
Pros: I overclocked my car!
Legends: I overclocked my fucking rocket engine
ok, cool, now build a station and launch it into orbit using a single ion engine
holy shit I _should_ try an ion engine!
Danny2462 as the ion engine takes xenon and electric charge, that would give you infinite electric charge too (you could try putting some control shit too)
@@Danny2462 can you make the should into a must
Good idea
Is this how the epstein drive was created in the expanse?
Why, oh why, did they give Danny this much power?
they need someone to show them the bugs
I'd like to see Matt Lowne use this. Infinite fuel / throttle, and its technically not cheating.
*runs violently to computer in order to put a permanently replenishing refueling outpost in my hardmode career save*
Thats not a bug. Thats overclocking :D
can you do that to make the gimbal 360 degrees?
I know that Patrons are really important and contribute a lot but... I really miss the old outro quotes :(
I wanted to get rid of them anyway, replaced by patrons or not, because after long editing hours getting bogged down there for arguably no reason - as I was trying to come up with text that was just the right length - was annoying, sorry :(
i started messing with that contraption on my own, this thing reached NaN speed, deleted all planets and when i reverted back to laucnh i was in the shadyverse, in 1.9.1, then i launched that ship again and the game crashed.
i think the game is addicted to crashing, almost anything crashes the game in the shadyverse
*Overclocking the engine*
Dave Kerman: Open the throttle, KAL.
KAL:
You break the game in more ways than I crash a plane, I tip my hardhat to you danny.
download principia and de-orbit gilly or pol with this
Dear god help us all, you've discovered the warp drive.
Again*
I honestly hope they leave this on the game. It’s one of those things that you have to go so far out of your way to use and tame that it only effects gameplay if you actually want it to. Personally, I’d use it to fill the role of some sort of torch drive.
Oh, for the Kraken's sake. If you want that, just turn on infinite fuel (debug menu, old thing) and change your engine thrust to whatever in the data files.
Sigh. There is no need to do it this way. None at all. It does not add to your capabilities.
Infinite fuel feels downright cheaty. While this is obviously cheating too, it requires actual effort and hardware to set up, and has limits too. Where an infinite fuel craft could fly forever on empty, a negative thrust craft would have to have fuel tanks and engines/generators to function.
I’m not trying to say that this isn’t cheating, but it certainly fits better than infinite fuel, and is hard enough to achieve that it doesn’t get in the way of normal gameplay and almost feels like some kind of crazy sci-fi tech
Fireheart318 Sorry, nope. Cheating by a slightly more complicated way is cheating just the same. But hey, it is a single player game: all that matters if you have fun.
I am also pretty sure the negative fuel engine does not need a fuel tank. I guess you just need a single negative engine and a core for control and you are done.
We _can_ go further. But _should_ we?
Absolutely.
Going even further beyond
One hell of a mass relay, relocate kerbals from Kerbin to Eeloo
Discovery of the Kerbstein drive circa 2020.
Me and the *Bois* on our way to KSP to recreate the Enterprise with a fully functioning warp drive:
Given that they don't patch this i would love to abuse this for a refuelling station
Non buggy stock warp drives! Woo!
"Non buggy"
@@quwaz11 I mean, it is not exactly a bug that your rocket explodes if you accelerate with 400g's inside the atmosphere.
Danny over 360⁰ gimbal thruster

It's stock so its aint cheating
Pretty sure Danny's gonna invent the Improbability Drive in one of these episodes

"Heat levels critical."
_This Is Why You Don't Fly A Type-7._
So basically a negative-throttle engine is a Bussard ramscoop?
ion trusters will be interesting free enegry
What about using autostrut and physical struts (a hella lot of them) to make the craft more durable and go to Jool in real time?
yup, more episodes coming

Wait. *A bug Danny didn't discover himself?*
*HERETIC. FETCH THE STAKE AND THE FLAMMENWERFER.*
As soon as I saw the massive negative numbers, I knew something *magical* was gonna happen.
that'd be one hell of a kerbal cannon.
why plan an encounter when you can just do this?
“Activate... LUDICROUS SPEED!”
If you look *very* closely at 0:02 you can see me for a brief half-second. Ma! Ma, I'm famous now! Hey Ma!
Pog
Have you considered using Kerbals as shock absorbers for the spacecraft?
I think KSP should keep this “overclocking” bug but fix the infinite fuel issue (as fun as it is, it’s a bit overpowered)
Maybe make it so the engine overheats if above 100% ?
KuroAno
Or just use fuel less efficiently
@@KuroAno Overclocked engines will still be easy, just require a lot of electricity: attach a bunch of radiators to the fuel tank directly above the engine.
stock warp drive is finally here
Hey, I thought torchships were only showing up in KSP 2!
can you de-orbit a planet with this trick ?
It's impossible to change the orbit of planets in ksp, they have set orbits and are essentially on rails
Even for Danny, I doubt it
He’s done it
But with mods
"Rearrange the celestial spheres with this one weird trick!"

Speed of light%
*nasa would like to know your location*
I can't believe SpaceX didn't use this on their rockets.

What most people would do; Make an FTL drive first.
What Danny's likely to do?; Launch kerbals this way first.
This is the kind of video we like. Also the secret agent ones
why doesn't nasa just do this
Use this to create the ultimate Mass Driver!
Tell nasa we found a way to travel anywhere in 2.34 secounds
Wait till Danny discovers infinite fuel via the alt f12 method
Then he is going to fly through atmosphere in hyperspeed via ignore heat and no crash damage option
Kind of curiosity could you use that concept to create a giant spaceship that can go in hyperdrive
Knew about this, but only used it to over-rev propellers and to spin kerbals really fast.
So thats how we'll get interstellar travel in ksp2
They patched the drain valve thruster
