That FSD high wake SFX made me panic, because I had the video on my second screen while playing Elite Dangerous. I thought the ship started a jump on its own and I frantically cycled my FSD, causing me to emergency drop. Then I realized it was the video. Good job Danny, you managed to injure a spacecraft in another game that you weren't even playing.
Given the Elite: Dangerous sounds, I will say that a problem braking is a pretty common issue there too, so I think it fits...also you’ve basically made an engine where orbital mechanics no longer matter, just point and go...that’s wonderful, and I can’t wait to see what you pull off next!
Braking isn't an issue if you're patient and keep your speed in the target zone. It's only when you're a hasty idiot that you start getting into trouble.

I bounced off of Duna and reach several exometers away from Kerbol within minutes. The game then crashed, and I had to erase all record of the flight from the save data for it to work again.

The trick is to use a second KAL to modulate the first one. Paying close attention to the output throttle value, you put these kinds of engines on any ship, with limits only related to the ship itself. Quick tip: the KAL interface rounds the display, but does not round the actual inputs.
Dang that's some kick! Messing around on my own my fastest test got to 1% the speed of light in a full minute, but that was without infinite fuel. Unfortunately structural limitations seem to be the limiting factor for this exploit, the fastest practical ship I've been able to make with this can barely take 1000g.
So, supposedly a negative value in the KAL controller for the drain valve replensihes resources out of, er, subspace or something, so that might be a fun adddition to this. Infinite propellant without using the cheat menu!
That's what he was already doing with the upside down engine on top of the craft but the drain valves were draining faster than the negative engine was generating so he had to use infinite fuel.
@@Humanoidmp basically in a single tick the drain valves drained the entire fuel tank, so the valve turned itself off, didn't matter if it was filled instantly again the valve would still be off
When i build large cruiserrs, i always have nacelles at the front with engines on them and reinforce them with struts. So i pull instead of push. Is more controllable

You should try this with the Ion thrusters! Since they have the best ratio of thrust to fuel consumed! That way it would maybe even work without switching on infinite fuel ;)
Yes, the fuel valves produce thrust, but that thrust is VERY minimal compared to a normal thruster, and it devours alot more fuel, so I recommend using the *"Mainsail"* thruster or whatever it's called
the compression force from the engines is too great for that part to take. and remember its not a straight line its a parabola. so that one percent could actually represent a doubling or quintupling of power.
It's more like 51% of slider .... Does this make a difference you may ask ... Kinda, considering the arc he gave the controller ... Full thrust could be like 85% with half thrust at 60. But yeah the person explained it Will. It literally imploded... Real imploded on itself from the stress.

I'd say using a helicopter propeller in space is the most Kerbal method of propulsion.
I mean that's the idea behind cold gas thrusters, though that's usually for maneuvering not propulsion.
