Also, I live in the S.W. US, guns are part of our culture, we grew up around them. The same can't be said for N.J. Even to this day, I wear a vest when target shooting, because unintended things *may* happen. I don't understand the family wanting to put any gun in her hand that's above a .22, never mind a selective fire 9mm weapon.

The parents are idiots for allowing their 9 year old to shoot. I feel sorry for the little girl, I can’t imagine what that was like for her. The instructor should have refused to let her shoot anything, even a 22.
My kids learned how to shoot .22's younger than that and be responsible with them. As adults they are still sport shooting and hunting using what we taught them. You are either woefully ignorant or very anti-firearms.
A Uzi is a 9mm selective fire sub gun. It's small size can make it difficult to control. She shouldn't have been allowed to be in this situation, but that's really on the parents. A 9mm is primarily a handgun round, not actually a high power round.
I'm with you about guns; have a few - for protection; go to the range for familiarization, etc. but don't particularly have a desire to go more than that. Not only that, but ammo gets expensive!
My family target practiced all the time. Particularly heavy as Rut time neared. We had a huge berm that was added to every year and all open fields beyond where we were shooting. But children do need to understand gun safety incase they come across one unattended. If a child is responsibly trained on firearm use, they’ll know to leave it alone. As opposed to a child who has only seen them on video games and tv shows/movies and curiosity could be tragic! They need to know gun safety because there is no “getting around” avoiding a gun somewhere! Tragic tragic event that could’ve been avoided. Negligence to the gun company allowing a 9 year old to handle a full auto in a pistol length firearm. That wasn’t smart.
I agree 9 is not to young to shoot she just should not of been given something that powerful
I don't think kids should be shooting guns regardless, at least be 18 or 19 because you do got to learn self defense but far a gun I don't think a 9 yr old should be able to shoot a gun, just my opinion, take up some Martial Arts!!
@@b-dalebarksdale348I've been shooting since I was 3 I'm 51 now and have never killed anyone or had an accident of any kind I also have 7 kids and 5 grandchildren and they all have been shooting since around 3 years old and they all know gun safety and are very respectful and responsible around firearms. Your opinion is of foolishness and fear. Teach your children the right things and you'll never have a problem or have to worry about anything..
@@prophez23 Good for U and ur Kids it's other ways to teach urself and kids self defense and it's nothing foolish about my opinion, everyone life is different, so having a gun for U and ur Kids, Grandkids may work but that doesn't work for everyone so thanks and no thanks, God bless U and Ur Family!!
isnt too young or too young?? make up yo dam mind!
Who in their Right Mind would Train A 9 Year Old on How to Shoot?!!!!! Now Look, This is Such A SAD RESULT?!!!
MAGA
Very sad on both ends!! May he rest in peace 🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊 Thank-you Lamont for telling us about this sad story be safe out there Lamont ❤😊❤
Same thing happened to a young boy a year or so before, only when the uzi kick back it went under the little boys chin.
Stay safe people.
I remember that one how sad
Omg 😢
Thats a sad story man.. that poor girl has to live w that for the rest of her life..
Not to mention that mans family lost their father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and that's just horrible..
All his fault. What a dummy. 😂😂
All your fault for this @@inmyopinion9305 Heartless comment. No one else to blame unlike the dumb parents of the girl. Parents and the girl need to be charged at the bare minimum neglect and ignorance. Them charge all these idiots in comments with emotional recklessness too. God damn you’re gross
How horribly tragic. Yes, this young girl will live with this the rest of her life. What the heck were the parents thinking OR the instructor?
When Lamont Speaks, I listen ☝️😎
That has to be so traumatizing for that young lady. I can’t imagine what she want through.
Yes, but you not mentioning the guy instructors family and children… amazing how soo many women in the comments here and simp white knight men are focusing on the girls trauma. Amazing
The parents shouldn’t let the girl shoot the gun. Shame on the parents.
I remember seeing this on the news i was shocked for a little girl to be shooting guns etc.. at a young age ..
What? Why?? Teach them early to respect and learn about firearms. But don’t give a child a UZI.
I'm pro gun but even I thought this was stupid. The UZI is known to climb severely especially when fired full auto. I can't see where a 9 year old would have the strength or body mass to counter it.
Hello LAMONT I'm watching you from Tucson Arizona. This is such a sad story about a nine year old girl killing her instructor. Stay safe out there ❤❤❤
I started shooting when I was 7 years old. Of course, I was always with my Dad until he was confident I was safety aware and knew and respected the commandments of firearm safety.
I was also shooting a .22 caliber rifle at 6 or 7 years old under my father's supervision. It was stupid to put an Uzi in the hands of a child, they're recoil and size makes them difficult to control.
@@douglasdixon524 it was stupid of your parents handing over a gun to you at a 7 yr old age. Guns are not toys.
@@omarmoran3097 I can see that the only thing you know about weapons is from useless video games. Having served in the United States armed forces like my father and myself, we men have been trained properly. Stick to video games little boy.
same here....guns are part of life where i live...kids are taught gun safety and to shoot in public schools. My sons have been hunting since they were 7.
@@omarmoran3097I guess you must have missed the "under my father's supervision" part
For everyone blaming the girl's parents, the instructor broke existing rules by enabling the full auto feature for a child.
They did let a small child fire a fully automatic weapon
All 3 are to blame period
Parents are responsible for the kid
True but that's not the only point 🤦♂️
That’s horrible for that sweet little girl. I pray God has allowed her to have a good life instead of reliving that tragedy. Bless her heart. Bless the family who lost a loved one.
What the hell!!!!!why did a 9 year old have a gun to use???why!!!😮😮may the man who lost his life RIP 🙏 awful accident 😢
I remember that tragedy 😢
Dude that’s way too young to let someone go to a shooting range
Not kids were kids, it's parents being responsible. This is sad 😥
I remember this. The Instructor wasnt so good with training folks with guns. He should have known that Baby may lose control of that fire arm. Even grown folks lose control of it.
Totally agree with you Lamont, no child should be in control of any weapon of destruction
A little child should not be allowed on a firing range.
Responsible parents will start training their children at the appropriate age which only the parents know. Some children shouldn’t practice until much older. Everyone is different. Annie Oakley, a gun expert began training as a 7 year old and hunting for food for her widowed mother at age 8. A necessity for them.
well it was the weapon? first time usage.. I grew up with guns and learned at a very young age.. So no issue here
@@oregon32nursenurse43 Thats cool, but Annie Oakley was over 100 years ago.
Yes they should. If children were knowledgeable about firearms you wouldn’t have the accidents that happen now. Currently most young folks learn about firearms watching tv and movies so they think it’s all fun and games.
Thanks Lamont. Sad he lost his life for something as sad as that. I know it was hard to see that and hard on both sides of the families.
Thanks for being fair, sooo many ‘women’ in these comments saying ONLY sorry for the poor girl! Not even a mention of the guy. Guys family of his children! Astonishing how self centered and absorbed women can be sometimes
A very tragic mishap that was 100% avoidable. Let this be a reminder that firearms are not toys! They are weapons, and must be treated accordingly. Keep muzzle awareness. Stay safe out there!
I remember this ultimate lesson in utter stupidity!!! This little girl obviously had absolutely no idea what to expect and clearly never fired a weapon before, meanwhile they put it in her hand like it was a stick she was gonna use to swat at a piñata, they might've just blindfolded her while they were at it😮
The first mistake was the parents even getting the ridiculous idea in their heads to even bring her there. And I knew proper gun safety by the time I was 5. What was that man thinking???
I remember this story. My first thought was WHY tf does a child need UZI lessons!?? The parents AND the shooting range are 💯 liable. No business whatsoever.
This guy should have known better you give any gun to a 9 year old and definitely not a Uzi machine gun
The last gun I handled that was put on full auto was a damn nail gun. I proceeded to accidentally nail my boyfriend’s hand to a fence 10 years ago. He forgave me. 😮
The gun instructor has no one to blame but himself. Bad decision lead to bad consequences. Totally preventable by an irresponsible gun instructor.
Kids & guns . Wow 🤔
Omg,,, sweet Jesus. What is wrong with people. Putting a weapon in the hands of a child. That’s reckless child endangerment
Bad Parents What were they thinking?
It was the parents fault and it shouldn't never happened knowing that the 9 year old used a gun. There was a lot of reasons why they could've called it off and say hey, we feel this isn't safe and you know, it probably would've saved that guy life.
Calm down Karen😆not even a .22? .22’s are excellent training guns for kids even younger than 9. But yeah definitely not full auto Uzi’s👎
What deranged parents...
'Oh I think I'll let my 9 year old shoot an Uzi today....'
When holding a High powered weapon you must be careful and she was 9 years old😮
A Uzi is a 9mm selective fire sub gun.
Shall Not Be Infringed
I was living there when this happened. Terrible.
What was a 9 year old doing at shooting range my parents wouldn’t even let me near a shooting range
My family target practiced all the time. Particularly heavy as Rut time neared. We had a huge berm that was added to every year and all open fields beyond where we were shooting. The dads did skeet shooting too. I remember being out there with dad’s pistol at 5 shooting. It was great fun. We go practice from time to time. You can’t get complacent if you expect to protect yourself in an emergency.
Stupidity has consequences... Who in the hell would think it's a good idea to let a 9-year-old girl fire a submachine gun
Places like that should not exist. The parents should be held responsible for this tragic accident
Places like what? Firing ranges?
So kids shouldn't be allowed to ski on a resort because they could hurt someone or themselves by accident or play football, hockey?
@@rolieg81 Some people's kids should not procreate...if you don't educate your children about potentially dangerous things, then you have failed...guns aren't dangerous said no one ever...and in the wrong hands bad things happen...who do you think they'll call when sideways situations happen? Good guys with guns, but if you have a firearm, you are the good guy that can stop the bad thing from happening...when did people stop knowing how to defend themselves? It was the first thing that was taught in school...if you find a gun, find an adult and tell them about it...if you have been trained, you would know what to do...this response wasn't directed at you, but rather at the op...peace when you can find it, prepared when you can't...
You don’t have to go to the gun range. The rest of us will continue to do so regardless.
Teaching a 9yr old to shoot a sub machine gun, that makes sense LMAO
Those parents must be crazy!
Annd Dumb 👏🏾
You deserve alot more credit than some other dudes on yt since not only do you tell a story you bring the people to the location
I'm a Mum with 2 kids...and even as a second ammendment supportive person I could NEVER justify my 9 year old shooting a fully automatic weapon. The recoil from that is tough for most adults. That shooting range should not have let minors shoot anything fully auto. This is so tragic.
How stupid! To put an Uzi 🔫 in a young girl's hands? 💥💥💥💀
What Is On Her Parents Mind Bringing A 9 Year old How To Shoot A Gun That is Way To Young
Started at 7 but you don't teach kids with this type of weapon, thats a no no
It's simple kids have the right to learn gun safety obviously it's important stop demonizing fire arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.....PERIOD

I remember this case. Anger and sadness.
Uzi.
@@susanweiss1439 , thank you for correcting me. I'm in the hospital and rather medicated. 😊

It was not her uzi, just a shooting experience.
Practicing gun safety. Maybe if your parents loved you, they would have taken you out on fun adventures like learning to shoot...
You speak the truth Lamont!MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR !♥️🎄
Don't you think she was a little young to be at a shooting range?
Nope there's people in my town showing there kids how to shoot at 6 and 7 etc
Guns bigger than them
A 9 year-old child has no business at a gun range
That 9 year-old girl is a young adult now, I can imagine the trauma she's currently going through knowing she accidentally killed someone, probably even nightmares. I hope she is getting the help and support she needs.
Terrible
My father allowed me to shoot his 9mm Beretta when I was 14 but he was right beside me since it was his police pew pew. When I was in police explorers we shot 38 revolvers in the pew pew range, which were super old as $hit back in the late 90s. 😂 I wouldn’t let a kid that young ever handle a pew pew with that much power. Parents are crazy.
I’m surprised they’re not required to wear bulletproof vests. Or I wonder if this is required after this horrific accident.
Accident 100% on firearms instructor.
She is way to small to control weapon, much less going full auto.
As long as your kid can comprehend and follow directions it's never to early to introduce them to guns and gun saftey, but the instructor should of known that she was to small to handle the recoil. Tragic accident. Prayers for all involved
I agree with you she just was not ready to be shooting something that powerful
I remember when this happened. How incredibly tragic. I can't believe it's been nine and a half years. It seems like it was just a few years ago, but time is flying by now that I'm older. Another really great job Lamont.
You gotta wonder why he wants to bring it back up??? He's got such a useless life that he's using gun tragedies and deaths as a way of stripping others of their rights. This guy is a chump.
All of my family has been through gun safety from an early age.
Commenters are oblivious to the fact that a CHILD was in possession of a firearm. A woman was just sentenced to prison on child neglect charges for allowing her child to get access to her pistol.
Merry Christmas Lamont and Scarlett !! You guys really rock !! Enjoy all content ! Real life, real stories ! Thank you for hours of getting out of my life and into others !! God Bless and stay safe !
