I like this slower lonelier version of Enemy. It really feels like a deep dive into the pain that Jinx feels behind her delusions and anger. Fantastic as always.
Even tho the intro or series isn't just about her but I get ur point.

To be honest, this is more of a "Powder" version. Not nearly as frenetic as Jinx is. But it's perfect for Powder- the hurt and heartbreak that turned her crazy.
Powder is shown to be neutral chaotic which really fits with the cover. A calm and melodic voice but the lyrics are chaotic and dark.
Listening to the whispers in the back ‘They’re lying, they’re always lying.’ it hits just one specific point for me.
The part of Powder that remained in Jinx until she snapped. That scared little girl who trusts no-one anymore.
Not even herself, so she becomes someone else. But she never went away, not until Powder finally heard the thing she wanted most.
‘Don’t cry. You’re perfect.’
Someone said that Powder’s last act was to kill Silco to save Vi.
But that Jinx’s first was to
avenge him.
They're the same person.

Metaphysically it’s a sliding scale of identity and persona.
@@rustkarl My point is that it's meant to refer to the character in general. The song. And she was referred to as Jinx before she claimed it for her name and Powder after she went by Jinx. Obviously she had a shift, but that's part of life. Good and bad. Though I don't think the name selection in the title is meant to be that deep. It could even be more surface level than that as it could essentially be saying "female version", particularly because the song Enemy was written exclusively for Arcane and as a representation for Powder/Jinx already. So if it meant what it's being taken to mean here, that this version is specifically for Jinx side (rather than Powder), it's redundant.
And on an even more basic level, it's possibly just called Jinx ver because they used Jinx related visuals.
This might simply be one of the top best covers I've heard for this song. This is amazing.

I'm surprised how much this was able to change the songs tone, really made it fit the character. Especially with the ticking and almost music box like sound at points.

I would love it but I would cry-
Man, this version of Enemy is haunting. It's such a surprising yet fitting rendition of the customarily energized and bombastic setting, now subdued and mournful. It could be seen as a reflection of Jinx/Powder's true feelings, the truth behind the loud and flashy mask of her default persona of the wacky and cool anarchist. She really feels like she's alone, that every other person who loved Jinx is dead because of her own actions, and everyone else-even, her own sister-is now her predator, her foe, her...Enemy.
I've heard many versions of the song, but I don't think I've ever heard such a good take on the song. The very slow and dramatic use of the piano, and then goes into a big boom of sound, is just perfect representation of jinx. Plus the way amlee says enemy, I was not ready for that beauty of sound.
Wow. Just wow. No words for how powerful this song was. She portrayed Jinx’s loneliness and madness perfectly.

Wow, having heard this song a little too much lately, this was very refreshing. I like the almost ballad version you did, as if Jinx is in a Disney film singing this as her solo number. The wind up sounds and haunting music box sounds were an excellent touch.
This feels like an Epic Trailer Version of Enemy (like something Hidden Citizens would do) and I love it.
This is incredible! I got so many chills from this, the slowness added a hint of pain and hurt that I couldn't even describe. Truly beautiful put together of a cover!!

Amalee has come such a long way. I remember when she used to be Firemage. The first cover I ever heard from her was way so many years ago, her original cover of Tabi no Tochuu. I have listened to her for so many years, and honestly her voice and covers have become comfort music for me. Even though I don't normally post comments on youtube, i just felt it was time to say something and show some appreciation. Amanda, you are incredible and I hope you have many more years of amazing covers and content ahead of you. Your music has always been there for me since highschool, and I'm happy that you are so successful. you truly deserve it.

I’ve heard a lot of different versions of this song, but this was the first I felt really captured it from a characters perspective. With the tone and the extra sound effects, the little whispers, and the beats of the song, they all so help set the mood and character of the song. Incredibly well done, will be buying asap to listen to all the time.
