There is ONE bad Sonic Soundtrack and its Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (made by Bioware). The reason the music is so infamous is that the original soundtrack had to be replaced before release due to legal issues. This resulted in the composer making terrible midi tracks as replacements, because they had like a week to re-compose an jrpg's worth of music
Not only were they terrible midi tracks they werent even original compositions, they legit just made worse versions of the great in music in sonic 3d blast for the genesis and saturn
Not to mention the compression. Even if they were fantastic songs in just composition, they were so *insanely* compressed that's hard to even tell what's happening in the song. Just a wall of noise.
Honestly I really enjoyed the segment where you saw the level in action after hearing the song. You should do that more for sonic songs, since they’re always made to go hand in hand with the levels environment to create atmosphere.
Absolutely, he should do that even if it’s a brief 20 second look so that way the visuals can really help to paint the full picture that the artist intends the music to portray. Adds a whole new level of enjoyment!

About Sonic 06. The game went absolute development hell and was rushed out by Sega to meet a Christmas deadline. As such, the game was forced to launch in an incomplete state. That's what makes 06 such a tragedy. All the pieces of an amazing game are there, it's just not finished. The game is notoriously buggy and broken, but the music, level design are all great. Sonic 06 was the game that singlehandedly plummeted Sonic's reputation and sites like IGN still won't shut up about it, even 15 years later. It could've been one of the best Sonic games, if only it got the time it needed
It's also worth pointing out that the Sonic 06 we got wasn't even the latest built, but rather the latest one that was stable and had the full campaign. That's the reason behind the super slow loading times and slowdown, the game is not optimized at all, since it was a development build.
I know that it's something you never actually do in these videos, but I find really enjoyable when you search up for a little bit of footage and context from the game you have listened, it makes the experience more "complete" in a manner of speaking
@@artistanthony1007 I know i'm 9 months late to the party but uhh no Project 06 is far from being done, Chaosx have never said he's done with the game even if we have Silver's trial acts at the moment of writing this comment.
the part where he tries to divine a picture of the environment from the music and the title is so funny. he sounds like a magician trying to cold read your thoughts
The Cavern is just one part of the stage Flame Core, similar to how the stage music works in Sonic Adventure. This part of the stage is more dimly lit, and the pace slows down a little to give you some puzzle rooms. You're still in a cavern filled with magma, but somehow it pulls off the chill vibe. These days I think Sonic '06 still gets a lot of hate, but within the Sonic community these past few years I've been seeing the consensus that it's not the WORST game, because the potential it had was definitely there. The game was just horribly rushed and the story was pretty weird. The title of the game is that way because Sonic '06 was intended to be somewhat of a soft reboot for the series. At least, it would have been if the game weren't so poorly received critically.
The OST for '06 was great. IMO Sonic Forces is the worst game in the series... And that's saying something. Forces was the first game that felt like a lazy cash grab. '06 flew too close to the sun considering Sonic Team and Sega mad bad executive decisions to split the team between '06 and Secret of the Rings on Wii.
@@forgot7en semantics really. There are some aspects to the characters that were present before Sonic 06 in the game, and it largely keeps their personalities and character dynamics the same. This is why I say "soft-reboot." While the scenario is completely disconnected from any events or setting that was established earlier, characters still clearly have history with each other and thus draw on the playerbase's familiarity with them and their dynamics and backstories. Just for an example, Shadow is still referred to as the "ultimate life form" in Sonic '06, despite the fact that his backstory is never touched on within the game at all. A newcomer would have absolutely no context for that statement.
@@VelvetAura It's because of what he did after The Last Way, he is over the death of Maria and his past, why do you think he's accepting of G.U.N.? The games all connect with Shadow's game just being a retelling of Heroes and doing his issues such as with amnesia much more personal and having him a TBI Victim and having no ability of Chaos Control and Chaos Spear at the start of his game.
@@artistanthony1007 I'm just saying, for anything that Mephiles could mention to attempt to turn Shadow to his side, you'd think the event aboard the ARK would have been touched upon at least once. Even if we're to say Shadow has moved on in this continuity, Maria is still a central part of his character
This is awesome, but I suggest to do a reaction to flame core "the volcano" as well. It's for the first section and it hits a lot harder for me, there's a whole lot to love there too (personally I prefer the volcano to this one, just slightly, even if this one is incredible too)
Ayyyyy!!! I'm James! This was my first request! Also, yeah... This game is pretty awful to play, but the soundtrack is amazing! Although, younger me greatly enjoyed it. 😆 I'm glad you enjoyed this track!
I remember when I first played this game when I was around 7, I think I was just young and dumb enough to not think that this game was bad, because all my memories of this game where just pure fun, I still somewhat like the game but seeing it now as I'm older, it became clear to me the amount of flaws this game had.
The Aquatic Base tracks make me so angry because how can such a perfect soundtrack belong to such an incomplete game? They took so many risks with Sonic 2006’s OST and I feel like all of them paid off.
This may seem strange, but I actually sometimes go to sleep to the extended version of this track. Turn the volume quiet enough so that the lead guitar is like a lullaby and the rest is nice quiet hum.
tbh, I really like the idea of you listening to the song then looking up the context/where it plays, it may add more to the experience, who knows, but it's definitely entertaining
I was a kid, I played to many flash games and then I got a PS3 from my brother and bought this game, passing from flash games to this feeled like a rrealy good experience, I didn't get a critic mind to judge the long loadings, the grafics look the best thing I played until laying it and I didn't feeled upset with plot, so I do have good memories of this game, rigth now I can understand why peaple don't like it, but after what I feeled before, I think if I would replay this game, I would feel, well, like the good old times
I think everyone already made you aware of why Sonic 06 is the way it is but one thing that can't be denied about it is it's amazing soundtrack, the entire series stands out but this game in particular is amazing, also recommend looking up "my destiny" and "dreams of an absolution" just to add to the amount of genres this series has covered
Let’s go he’s back with more sonic content. Luv u bro keep it up. If you like this song from sonic 06 then you will love the rest of the soundtrack. My personal favorites are His world (all 4 version such as the original, zebra head, phase 2, and crush 40) kingdom valley, crisis city, aquatic base act 1 and 2, and egg wyvern
It's been interesting watching sonic's music evolve over the years as popular music has, from Dreams Come True to Michael Jackson to Crush 40 to Naganuma to... I'd say Drum n Bass, but Sonic 06 is about when stuff started going off the rails. Sonic Forces tried to get back on track with what it's doin, but in my opinion there's a lot less of a clear direction for the mainline series' music as they've struggled between evolving and reclaiming old glory.
I know this is very late since your comment was posted 2 years ago 😭 but personally I think the Sonic games never lost their glory when it came to the music. Especially 06 and Unleashed, which I think have the best soundtracks in the whole Sonic series and that Forces is the weakest in my opinion. Of course it’s subjective though, but Sonic music never went off the rails in my opinion.
@@jackcough3732 I think what I was getting at wasn't that the music got worse so much as the core identities for the later games aren't as strongly bound to the musicians they got to perform for the OSTs. Sega, from the beginning, was always focused on using popular musicians' star power to drive audience interest. But they went from "get Masato Nakamura to make the entire soundtrack" to "get the guy from Bowling For Soup to feature on a single track". What I mean by "old glory" is that Sega pretty regularly milks the franchise's Genesis roots, sometimes to tremendous success (Generations, Mania) and sometimes less so (Sonic 4, YMMV on Superstars). How many times have we seen and heard Chemical Plant Zone? I think you can chalk a lot of it up to just more musical voices contributing on each project and pulling it in different directions. And, again, I'm not trying to relate this to quality so much, just saying the franchise had untethered from pop music to do more nebulous stuff. I do think Frontiers is kind of a reconstruction, though.
Your reaction/analysis of videogame music brings me joy to no end, Jesse! Witnessing kind of being a part of enjoying some wonderful and exciting music is amazing. Keep up the amazing work. I'd love to see you react to "Mob choir:99". It's not a videogame, but it is instead from one of the *best* anime ever made; Psycho mob 100. It's my favourite song of all time and an absolute BANGER. Warmest of greetings from Germany.
So, Sonic 06 is infamous primarily because it is the single most buggy games on the 360. It was rushed for an anniversary, had an underdeveloped story that had a real girl kissing Sonic to bring him back from the dead - oh yeah Sonic fuckin' dies at one point - and just.... if you want an idea of just what Sonic 06 is like, I highly recommend one of the many AGDQ speedruns of the game which usually has attached glitch exhibitions. That said, it's also one of those games that has had something of a re-evaluation. Like I don't think anyone is claiming it's *good* but people do have fun with it in spite of itself. It's a wild time if nothing else.
It's good for many reasons, Sonic's Story is sort of romance-ey but not horrible while Silver & Shadow's Stories and Last Story are really good especially Last Story which does the end of the world better than Forces, seriously compare the feel, tone and aesthetic of these two and dont tell me Last Story does not accomplish it better.
Been on a Sonic fix and revisiting your ol’ Sonic reactions. This one in particular gave me whiplash, for your reaction to the gameplay. “This game looks really cool” is something I’d never think to hear from someone witnessing Sonic ‘06, but it’s weirdly brought my own appreciation for the positives that game has out! (Not that there’s many, it’s a buggy mess with a rushed story.) Btw, I recommend Crisis City from this one 🔥 🌪️ 🚗
Yeah, as a long term Sonic fan, I agree that the soundtracks to most Sonic games are phenomenal. Obviously, there are songs that won't vibe with me as much as others, but finding a Sonic song that I outright don't like is quite rare. Sonic '06 has one of the best soundtracks of the modern era imo. The main theme, His World, is still one of my favourite themes to this day, almost 18 years later. There are quite a few variations of that one, with a version by Ali Tabatabaee and Matty Lewis from Zebrahead, one with the rest of the band, and one by Crush 40, as well as all of the different uses of the leitmotif throughout the game. Other tracks from '06 that you should check out would include the bgm tracks for Kingdom Valley and Crisis City, as well as Mephiles' themes. There are plenty of other games that you have checked out already that would certainly be worth revisiting.
Always interested to see Sonic reactions, it pretty much is the case that the music is always good regardless of if the game is kind of rubbish (which in Sega's case is most of the time now because they clearly either have no idea what they're doing, or they just don't care). Anyway: I'm kind of surprised you haven't had more requests for older Sonic games, like the much loved Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic 3D on the Mega Drive had some amazing music. Just some I'd love to see you react to: Flying Battery, Sandopolis and boss 2 from 3&K, and Rusty Ruin and Diamond Dust from Sonic 3D. Cheers Jesse
Would love to see your reaction to kingdom valley some time in the future, this games soundtrack is truly somthing special, even with the kingdom valley from gens remix for the shadow version coming out soon still captures the feel
When I read Flame Core, I got excited for a moment thinking you're gonna react to Flame Core (Volcano). The cavern one is... decent... but the volcano song is on an entirely different level.
I don't think Volcano is superior to Cavern, and I wanted to avoid requesting an abundance of guitar-based songs. All of my Sonic requests so far have been in the interest of showing Jesse how much genre range this series has. I love the Volcano theme and if no one else requests it I will eventually, but this is my preferred track regardless.
@@BatsOnSaturn Yeah Adventure 1's variety is hard to touch. I think the Sonic '06 ost actually comes the closest in that regard. After that I'd say perhaps Unleashed?
nah, cavern is the best. volcano is all cool and nice but it's just another rocky song. jazzy, chill stuff like this are what's really appreciated and interesting, and it's a damm fucking good one. you don't get to hear cool bass, clean guitars and cool drums in volcano. it's just another metal song, but this, this one, is something else. you can compare it to the likes of sonic adventure 2's knuckles songs
If you ever actually feel the need to play 06, I recommend doing so via Project 06 by Chaos X. It's an extremely faithful Unreal Engine remake of 06 for PC that makes it actually fun to play, in contrast to the vanilla game in which your fun will mostly come from hunting for exploits and glitches. The controls are really good now, it actually runs well and doesn't feel like a slog, they readded a lot of cut stuff like dialogue and even added some in-level cutscenes that add more to the experience imo... Just a lot of cool QOL changes. It's only 2/3'rds of the way completed right now. All of Sonic and Shadow's levels are fully playable, Silver's levels seem to be coming "when they're done", and I don't think they intend to do the story modes with all the open worlds and cutscenes... But that's probably for the best tbh. If you want the vanilla 06 experience first, I still recommend trying P06 afterwards, as the improvements made are staggering when you can compare it to the original...
Originally Sonic didn't have the Spin dash even... Not until Sonic The Hedgehog 2, I believe... You could duck while running to roll, but you couldn't spin dash from a full stop at first... Anyway, there have been many changes over the years... Mostly you can split it between 2D and 3D games... Although later on there has been some crossover (some games having 2D and 3D sections) and the 3D games obviously brought over some ideas from the 2D games that started everything... But then some games had many characters, each sometimes with their own unique stuff... And the power-ups vary a bit too... They usually gave sonic an extra double jump attack, while giving everyone a passive effect... Not including the standard shield, that mostly just allowed you to take an extra hit... But yeah, a lot of 2D sonic games use Sonic 2 or 3 as their base for mechanics... The 3D sonic games made a few changes, like giving Sonic a homing attack with his double jump... I think that first appeared in Sonic 3D on Megadrive/Genesis and Sega Saturn, but as a special attach when you had a gold shield, which then became standard with Sonic adventure... It's very useful for the 3D games because Sonic's speed is the enemy of accuracy and control lol, so being able to just home in on enemies and such by double jumping... Very handy. The main issues with Sonic 2006 was that it was rushed and a buggy mess... Similar to the Sonic Boom game on Wii U, later on, if I remember correctly... I think one of the biggest offenders was the excess amounts of loading for various things lol. Like you'd walk up to a guy on the world map... Talking to him would have to load up, then he'd tell you about his challenge, the challenge would load... Then after the challenge it would load the talking to the person again, then load again to go back to the map or whatever... And these were relatively long loads too, I think... I don't think the game autosaved properly, so that could be an issue too, especially given how many loads might need to be done again ^_^;;... And I think a infamous issue that has come up is with a certain boss where you could get stun locked in a way where you would keep recollecting a ring and end up in a permanent and undying loop where you couldn't escape... Something like that... But yeah, check out some speed runs where they take advantage of crazy bugs in the game to skip most of it lol.
This song is dope I'm sure it'll left an impression on you but you should definitely listen to aquatic base level 1 this song is one of the superior high quality banger
Unrelated to the video, just here to recommend some video game music to react to: Calm but still awesome music: Minecraft -one of my favorite tracks: Aria Math Very fun music: Team Fortress 2 -most of the main tracks are pretty short, so you could fit a few of them in one video Amazing electronic music: Portal 2 -fun track: Science is Fun -action tracks: The Courtesy Call, Caroline Deleted -one that will make your ears bleed: The Friendly Faith Plate -cool ambience: Comedy = Tragedy + Time -one of my favorite tracks: Reconstruction More Science Great music in general: Half Life, Half Life 2, and Half Life: Alyx -one track that I really love: Hazardous Environments -all have great music, but I conveniently have a list of tracks that I liked from HL:A: Engage. Quell. Inquire., Anti-Citizen, Icosahedron, Ending Triumph, Exposing Hostile (Exposing Hostile was the music for the trailer)
Jun Senoue had little to do with '06 directly. The most I can think of at the top of my head was Crush 40's cover of "All Hail Shadow" in the end credits of Shadow's story. & played guitar on the track, "Shadow's Infiltration" (composed by Tomoya Ohtani); which plays in the opening cutscene of Shadow's story.
I'd recommend: (Sonic CD (US)) - Stardust Speedway: Bad Future (Sonic CD (JP/EU)) - Stardust Speedway: Bad Future (Sonic the Fighters) - Advertise (Sonic R) - Can You Feel the Sunshine? (Sonic Mega Collection) - Extras Menu (Shadow the Hedgehog) - Lethal Highway (Sonic Rush) - Back 2 Back (Sonic Rush) - What U Need (Sonic Rush) - Raisin' Me Up (Sonic Runners) - Fly Away
Sonic 2006 is one of those games with a BANGER soundtrack but the gameplay is 50/50 lol It's a pretty buggy game but still playable, but man...that soundtrack is amazing
There is only one game of sonic that Doesn’t have good music and that is dark brotherhood which scrap its entire soundtrack after legal trouble and had to remake it in like a week
Sonic 2006 was an incredibly unfinished and bug ridden game, that was intended to be a sonic adventure 3" , people also dont like that it is centered aro7nd a HUMAN damsel in distress who falls in love with sonic for rescuing her...he is not interested. Bugs include being able to stand still on a ceiling, being clipped hard on terrain, randomly falling, having a boss telekenetically throw you vertically up...where you would hit the level boundry and take damage, only to fall directly on top of the boss...who could grab you again... i have fond memories of it. I enjoyed it overall though, even though it is broken. The soundtrack is universally praised however, lots of orchestral, rock and synths There are like 6 versions of the main theme "His World" and most stages have about 4 variants too
Sonic 06 is alright if you go in with the right mindset. The game wasn't finished, it can be buggy, but it has stellar level design that makes up for it.
The weird thing about Sonic '06 is the PS3 version had extra (insert X amount of development time here), yet ended up in a worse state overall than the Xbox 360 version.
Yeah, the PS3's dev architecture was notoriously hard to work with for a long, long time. And this being early days *plus* them having limited time to port it led to...well. What we got.
As for the game, as someone who has gotten through the ordeal of 100%-ing it, it has good moments, even great ones, but it's marred on every step by the fact that it was rushed to death for a Christmas release. Bad and broken physics, dummied-out mechanics, INSANE amount of loading times, plethora of glitches, plot holes, but at the same time, it looks good, has great music (my favorite is probably "Dusty Desert (Quicksand)"), and some of the mechanics are genuinely fun. So yeah, the flaws are definitely there and it's definitely a low point for Sonic, but it still didn't frustrate me enough to not finish everything. And there absolutely are games I've dropped before 100%. I'd rather take Sonic '06 over Sonic Forces, that's for sure.
So, it's a little hard to say what the "mechanics" of a Sonic game are, because as a series Sonic has gained a reputation for reinventing the wheel every new game. They're also infamous for rushing deadlines due to... let's say ill-advised management decisions. As a result, most Sonic games tend to be some level of buggy and unfinished, although Sonic '06 is widely considered to be one of the worst offenders (they decided they absolutely *needed* to get a new Sonic game out on the 25th anniversary of the first Sonic's release, regardless of whether the game was ready to ship or not).
This particular game is bad I think because it was a rushed launch title for the Xbox360 and PS3. They had so many bugs it's unplayable at times, the cutscenes can be outdone by one dude using SFM and the designs are really strange. If it had more care and time put into it, it had promise - it's just unfortunate, the state it was released in.
Sonic 06 has a lot of problems but the one that really bothered everyone is that it loads ALL. THE. TIME. There was like solid 10 to 20 second load times between anything Walk up to an NPC and initiate a conversation Load They say loook over there, its the next objective Load Wide shot of the objective Load Back to sonic so you can walk over to the new area Load It's agony. Also plenty of bugs and pretty mediocre gameplay. There's at least 3 famous things, one where kicking on a box floats you and the box up into the air, one where silver just manhandled you without letting you do ANYTHING, and wonky physics sloped surfaces which isn't unique to sonic 06 but absolutely one of the most egregious frequencies of it 06 used to be the top dog in bad but sonic boom is just an unfinished game, it's hard to play it WITHOUT encountering bugs, tearing or glitches
I'm sure you'll hear various things about this game. Rushed to hell, buggy, glitchy and overall viewed as the lowest point of the whole series. This was the game that made Sonic a laughing stock and ruined the series' reputation greatly, however if you play the game you'll see small glimpses of a great game underneath all the garbage that can be mostly manoeuvred around if you stick with it. Thankfully the series has seemed to of mostly recovered after the Movies and a few recent games have come out.
'06 had an amazing OST, though the game was just... Not finished? It didn't deliver gameplay wise and was so buggy... But here's the thing... Sonic '06 isn't even my least favorite Sonic Game. I still had fun with it despite it's numerous issues. To me, Sonic Forces is the worst Sonic game... It was the first Sonic game that I just did NOT have fun with, despite trying... The story really didn't exist... the tie in with the AMAZING Sonic Mania was underwhelming... and it was too focused on the Create your own character! Aspect to really be enjoyable... And none of the levels of Forces were memorable, nor do I remember anything in the OST outside of the re-hashed tracks of overdone levels. Meanwhile, '06 had AMBITION. It might have fallen short.... but you could tell they wanted to do so much with it... and the OST really shines through. IMO White Acropolis is one of the best tracks in '06 and is one I used to put on 30 minute extended cuts to listen to and kind of meditate to so that I could get through grad school. Dealt with a pretty bad break up through the power of the '06 OST.
No, Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood uses bad 8 bit recreations of Sonic 3d Blast Genesis tracks. And it's not a good game either. Also some tracks from Forces (the classic sonic levels) and Sonic 4 are not great.
@@forgot7enJust had another listen to a fair few tracks, I agree that it blends together, but at least infinite's theme, Zavok's theme, This Is Who You Are, Fist Bump and Null Space stand out, otherwise I think it's all technically well produced EDM and house music or whatever it is, and the vocals in these songs lend to a sound that I don't think Sonic has done before, it is a unique soundtrack palette I will say. I think people who can find the nuance in this genre, on the songs, might find satisfaction.
When I think of bad Sonic games, I usually rule out games like Chronicles and Boom because they were different teams doing spin-off stuff. While it doesn't excuse them being bad, them being bad isn't comparable to Sonic Team messing up a mainline game. Also, I really like 2/3rds of Forces' soundtrack, but man... the Classic tracks are grating on the ears... They didn't have that issue in Generations, so I don't know what their deal was with Forces.
@@accelleratiiincredibus446 I think it is comparable to 'sonic team' messing up, since the actual workforce of each game varies wildly-two of the level designers from Forces, it was their first game, I hear!- and most of the commonly played Sonic games past 2000 were probably made by Dimps, anyways, you want some kind of consistency, that's where it's found. It's all published under the same banner, you got to blame and pressure publishers when they publish bad stuff, if you write it off as 'oh, the developers didn't know what they were doing', then the publishers don't learn to scope out the right people for the job, or create projects of the right magnitude or nature.
@@therighttrousers343 I wasn't referring to the actual experience of the teams or anything. What I meant was how bad it is for the franchise as a whole. Chronicles, an AU RPG made by a separate team, has a much lesser impact on the franchise as a whole if it sucks than 06, a game published under the same name as every other major game in the franchise. Trust in the greater franchise is worse off after a failure like 06 than Chronicles. Most people haven't even heard of Chronicles. Their failures aren't equal in that regard. It's like if the Warioware games flopped, it wouldn't make a dent in Mario's reputation compared to if a game like Odyssey flopped. A much smaller audience even knows these side games exist or care enough to want them to be good. Also, I already do blame publishers and upper management for most of the problems the Sonic franchise has had. With Forces in particular, what was there was fine but the team obviously didn't have enough time to do what they wanted. Most of the development time was spent on a new lighting engine and large chunks of levels went unfinished. That game needed more time to be made, and that isn't the fault of the developers.
There is ONE bad Sonic Soundtrack and its Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (made by Bioware).
I mean, even with the flaws, I enjoyed it WAY way more than other entries for sure...
Ayyy this is a great one, the chill vibes are off the chart !
Someone please get some Sonic Rush in this man, He needs to be Wrapped in Black.
TOO BLACK
TOO STRONG
Me too
You NEED to listen to Aquatic Base act 1. It's probably the most unique Sonic song ever made
The Aquatic Base tracks make me so angry because how can such a perfect soundtrack belong to such an incomplete game? They took so many risks with Sonic 2006’s OST and I feel like all of them paid off.
🧢🧢🧢🧢🧢
@@fissilewhistle That's just how it is, it's strange but just roll with it.
Act 2 is better
Sonic's music is full of hidden gems like this one. This has to be one of my favorites.
This may seem strange, but I actually sometimes go to sleep to the extended version of this track. Turn the volume quiet enough so that the lead guitar is like a lullaby and the rest is nice quiet hum.
This is one of my favorite songs from Sonic 06! So glad this was recommended to you. I hope you listen to Aquatic Base zone 1 or 2!
tbh, I really like the idea of you listening to the song then looking up the context/where it plays, it may add more to the experience, who knows, but it's definitely entertaining
Song mentioned in this video;
Tauk - Mokuba

This one hits alot different.
The music of this game is perfectly fine, It's literally everything else that has issues lol
It’s the only thing finished in the whole package.
Solaris theme is also awesome too!
You're probably going to need to make a sonic playlist for all of your reactions for the Sonic series. XD
THIS song is in a low lit cavern inside of a volcano
Deadass one of the absolute best soundtracks for a Sonic game, despite the trainwreck that the actual game itself ended up being.
I've only heard like a minute of them now, but I love Tauk, thank you.
Just subbed to the channel and I'm excited to see him tackle another Sonic song so soon.
I forgot what this one's like but let's see what he thinks.
Yeah, people have managed to have fun with it as a speed game, thanks to it's bizarre and exploitable jank and glitches.
There are more buggy games on the 360.
(Not that there’s many, it’s a buggy mess with a rushed story.)
Btw, I recommend Crisis City from this one 🔥 🌪️ 🚗
Kingdom valley (water) that is all
Would love to see your reaction to kingdom valley some time in the future, this games soundtrack is truly somthing special, even with the kingdom valley from gens remix for the shadow version coming out soon still captures the feel
“Whew out at last”
When I read Flame Core, I got excited for a moment thinking you're gonna react to Flame Core (Volcano). The cavern one is... decent... but the volcano song is on an entirely different level.
Same, hopefully he listens to that one too.
@@VelvetAura took the words outta my mouth man, even if its not exactly "Adventure" it's still amazing
@@BatsOnSaturn Yeah Adventure 1's variety is hard to touch. I think the Sonic '06 ost actually comes the closest in that regard. After that I'd say perhaps Unleashed?
nah, cavern is the best. volcano is all cool and nice but it's just another rocky song. jazzy, chill stuff like this are what's really appreciated and interesting, and it's a damm fucking good one. you don't get to hear cool bass, clean guitars and cool drums in volcano. it's just another metal song, but this, this one, is something else. you can compare it to the likes of sonic adventure 2's knuckles songs
oh my god this one is such a banger YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
we need volcano after this one for sure
Really wish this was The flame core volcano but this is still good hope u react to Radical Train The chase from sonic 06 next
My favourite 3D Sonic soundtrack…
oh yeah also keep in mind that most sonic games after the genesis have more realistic environments more grounded in reality
Your pfp is amazing
Some recomendations:
-Radical Train
-Kingdom Valley
-Aquatic base
This song will always remind me of Arin's freakout from gamegrumps lol.
This is my favourite sonic game. It gets a lot of flack for a few cringe moments of story and its buggyness but I love the game so much.
Sonic 06 was so rushed, some trailers show off things that seem to have been more complete in a dev build than in the game's actual release.
you should try
Resist and Disorder
or
Call of the void - (helblinde)
or
Hang'em all
Hell yeeeeeees!
Unrelated to the video, just here to recommend some video game music to react to:
Calm but still awesome music: Minecraft
-one of my favorite tracks: Aria Math
Very fun music: Team Fortress 2
-most of the main tracks are pretty short, so you could fit a few of them in one video
Amazing electronic music: Portal 2
-fun track: Science is Fun
-action tracks: The Courtesy Call, Caroline Deleted
-one that will make your ears bleed: The Friendly Faith Plate
-cool ambience: Comedy = Tragedy + Time
-one of my favorite tracks: Reconstruction More Science
Great music in general: Half Life, Half Life 2, and Half Life: Alyx
-one track that I really love: Hazardous Environments
-all have great music, but I conveniently have a list of tracks that I liked from HL:A: Engage. Quell. Inquire., Anti-Citizen, Icosahedron, Ending Triumph, Exposing Hostile (Exposing Hostile was the music for the trailer)
If you know Steven Wilson's work, this has a heavy Don't Hate Me vibe.
Sonic 06 is an infamously bad and glitchy game. Jun Senoue carries this entire game with the OST, the man's a legend.
I'd recommend:
(Sonic CD (US)) - Stardust Speedway: Bad Future
(Sonic CD (JP/EU)) - Stardust Speedway: Bad Future
(Sonic the Fighters) - Advertise
(Sonic R) - Can You Feel the Sunshine?
(Sonic Mega Collection) - Extras Menu
(Shadow the Hedgehog) - Lethal Highway
(Sonic Rush) - Back 2 Back
(Sonic Rush) - What U Need
(Sonic Rush) - Raisin' Me Up
(Sonic Runners) - Fly Away
Sonic 2006 is one of those games with a BANGER soundtrack but the gameplay is 50/50 lol It's a pretty buggy game but still playable, but man...that soundtrack is amazing
There is only one game of sonic that Doesn’t have good music and that is dark brotherhood which scrap its entire soundtrack after legal trouble and had to remake it in like a week
You should listen to His world Please That's Sonic's main theme And it's basically one of the best sonic tracks to this day.
A good sonic song is diamond in the sky from sonic R, it has a similar 90s vibe as sonic boom, keep up these reaction videos they're great.
The soundtrack is universally praised however, lots of orchestral, rock and synths
There are like 6 versions of the main theme "His World" and most stages have about 4 variants too
You should listen to Flame Core (Volcano) next, it's much better.
You should try meteor herd from sa2 someday
Sonic 06 has some really fun moments but it’s the glitches and certain level sections that ruin it. I still loved it at certain parts though.
PLEASE REACT TO MORE SONIC 06. I SWEAR ITS MY CHILDHOOD AND ITS STUCK WITH ME ALL THE WAY.
If you haven’t listened to it react to live and learn I swear to weird werewolf sonic!
Even this dumpster fire had good music.
When are people gonna recommend THE sonic songs. You people are absolutely teasing him from gold
While this game is a bit of a buggy mess the ost is my absolute favorite with "His World" being my favorite Sonic theme out of the entire franchise
Have you ever listened to live and learn?
This particular game is bad I think because it was a rushed launch title for the Xbox360 and PS3. They had so many bugs it's unplayable at times, the cutscenes can be outdone by one dude using SFM and the designs are really strange. If it had more care and time put into it, it had promise - it's just unfortunate, the state it was released in.
The Flame Core Vulcano version is in my opinion better. Hope you check this out too.
No matter how good or bad the game is the ost of a Sonic game will always hit except for Sonic Chronicles cause of legal bs
Please please do metallic madness
Sonic 06 has a lot of problems but the one that really bothered everyone is that it loads ALL. THE. TIME. There was like solid 10 to 20 second load times between anything
Walk up to an NPC and initiate a conversation
Load
They say loook over there, its the next objective
Load
Wide shot of the objective
Load
Back to sonic so you can walk over to the new area
Load
It's agony. Also plenty of bugs and pretty mediocre gameplay. There's at least 3 famous things, one where kicking on a box floats you and the box up into the air, one where silver just manhandled you without letting you do ANYTHING, and wonky physics sloped surfaces which isn't unique to sonic 06 but absolutely one of the most egregious frequencies of it
06 used to be the top dog in bad but sonic boom is just an unfinished game, it's hard to play it WITHOUT encountering bugs, tearing or glitches
Jank game, but you can have fun with it sometimes genuinely and intentionally, most times because of the glitches.
sonic 06 is a terrible game but the OST for me is the best OST in any franchise i have ever heard.
WHAT IS THIS
No, Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood uses bad 8 bit recreations of Sonic 3d Blast Genesis tracks.
That game needed more time to be made, and that isn't the fault of the developers.
bad song from sonic? green hill green hill
One of the worst game, one of the (and my personal) best in the franchise
