This was just lovely. I love seeing elders read the lyrics and then react to the music separately. As a totally lyrics freak, sometimes it bother me how often people don't pay attention to the words!
Lorde is an incredibly versatile conceptual artist. All of her songs have deep lyrics and both of her albums (Melodrama & Pure Heroine) follow lots of different concepts which at the end all bind together and form an immaculate story which make her work cohesive and gravitating. She constantly incorporates new sounds and instrumentals and melodies into her songs. Not largely a fan of hers, but after having the pleasure of listening to both of her albums and reviewing them, I can say that she is one of my most favourite artists.
PussyPop she's incredibly talented. And that she has that talent and maturity from such a young age is unbelievable!

I love this show because it really breaks down the idea and/or belief that people from older generations will never understand why music is popular today. Great job FBE!

i love how plastic and visual Lorde's lyrics are. It's amazing how she's capable of creating such a concrete image in the mind of the listener, and how the music is the perfect companion to her poems.
This is when you have synesthesia and used it for making your art. She can easily paint colors through music coz she sees them herself plus her mom is a poet and that influences her with how she constructs her lyrics. She's a musician and a poet.
"She paints a hell of a picture" - that's Lorde in a nutshell.
Florence and the machine. Their lyrics are full of symbolism and big topics and is real fun for interpretation. It's fresh to hear the Elders take on a more imaginative writing. And their reaction to finally hearing her music because it is GODLY.

Lorde is first and foremost a poet. Therefore her lyrics are so easy to read. Lyrics from other artists can sound really stupid when just being read, but they make sense when being sung.
