Hi Colin - when you refreshed the Unit offer, you used only the gold deck. However, the rules say "If at least one Core tile has been revealed, alternate dealing Elite (gold) and Regular Units. (Elite, Regular, Elite, etc.)".
Hey man, don't be discouraged by the little mistakes, this game is very prone to that and your videos are awesome! You said you love it...so you have to play a little more on camera ofc ;)
Thanks David, appreciate that! Yeah I LOVE LOVE LOVE this game, I just was hoping for a clean play! Regardless having a blast and hope to take Volkare out in the next 2 video's!! :) Thanks for watching!
Hey Colin, you had one unused skill that would have given you a blue crystal in your inventory. You could use that before the end of the round because it will refresh when you go into the night - 27:19 for reference.
Awesome battle in the city "flawless victory" (read with mortal.combat voice hehehe) I was about to said the lil mistakes but people on the comments already did a great job, I just would chose that expose spell take resistances vs white tokens works great for me
HAHAHA Love it thanks for that!! Yeah Expose is an awesome card!!! Man so many good choices in this game. Thanks so much for watching and I have all the errors annotated now!
Doing well! Nice job so far, I think you can do it! I spotted a few more small mistakes besides the ones you mentioned: - After the city is revealed, Volkare moves towards the city in the most direct path, including unrevealed spaces (p15 of rulebook "just move Volkare through virtual spaces as if there was a tile revealed). So he would be now standing in the unrevealed tile and 3 moves away from the city. - You forgot to use one of your crystal skills at the end of the round (you could have even kept Crystal Joy to convert the green mana from the skill into a crystal) - The city gives you +2 to your hand, but being adjacent to your keep gives you +3 (for your 3 keeps). The highest bonus applies so you would be on 9 cards. - I believe the 3 influence bonus from the city only applies to interaction in the city itself (not when adjacent to the city).
George my man!!! Thank you for keeping me honest!! I will maje your notes ones the video thank you! I probably should not be doing this well... and if we win it will be with an asterik. Still though thanks for watching!!
Yeah Reputation is hard to keep up. But the best part in the game is seeing those early choices coming to help you. I LOVE IT!! Thanks for watching and sorry for the errors!
Well, not really. Usually core tiles have a lot of rampaging dragons, which give you +2 boost for clearing them out. I usually end up being this hated when I burn down monasteries, a tactic that is very useful even if it's a bit... ethically questionable. =D
I love this game, and you did a great job with your video. I noticed a few errors but i make em myself, theres so many rules to follow and remember. I would like to point out that the familiars heal was used with a sideways card to heal for 4. You cant play cards sideways to get 1 heal.
I really like this playthrough and thoroughly love this game! Congrats for an extremely well executed city attack, they rarely go as smoothly! =D Just a little bit of a clarification: 22:23 Cumbersome means that you can use movement points to REDUCE the enemy's attack, not as a block per se! When blocking you either block all or none of it, but in the case of cumbersome enemies, you can partially reduce their attack with movement and then block the rest in the block phase. For example, if you paid 4 movement points before blocking against the Catapult, it you would only need to (ice) block 4 points of damage. Also, when you played Song of Wind at 10:28 to assault the keep, you didn't need to play Stamina to give you extra 2 movement points. All you need is the 2 points generated by Song of Wind, as it reduces the movement cost of plains to 0 and wastelands to 2. ;)
2 GREAT points!! Thank you for that!! I will make a note, oh and on a side note this is my second favorite game of all time, second only to Spirit Island! :) Thanks for watching!!
One Stop Co-op Shop spirit island and mage knight are also my two favorite games !! I’ll definitely look forward seeing more videos of play through of these games on your channel :))
22:29 Cumbersome means you can use movement to _reduce damage,_ which is distinct from _block._ If you block half the damage, you still take full wounds (all or nothing). With movement, you can reduce the damage partially (or completely) to reduce your wounds or how much you must then block.
Great playthrough. Enjoying this series. One minor mistake about 9 minutes. You cannot play Blood Ritual sideways to help heal the Golems with the Magic Familiars.
One Stop Co-op Shop. No worries. There are a ton of rules in this game. I really appreciate your hard work creating these videos. I just like to clarify rules for others who watch since that's how we help each other learn this great (but challenging) game.
Very cool. You could attack that den next to the white city and you do have looking over your shoulders that dragoooon! Those would get you up levels very quickly.
Excellent playthrough! Don't worry about the few small mistakes you've made (although the annotations are useful to people trying to learn the rules as they watch). Keep up the good work!
I’m confused. At 17:40 your golems are not assigned damage. I was under the impression that you ALWAYS assign at least one wound if ANY unit receives ANY damage, regardless of it’s value(unless it’s blocked of of course).
Not always the case!! You have to remember Unit Resistances, as they come into play first. If a unit is resistant to a specific type of damage you reduce the damage FIRST, then determine if a wound should be placed. However for this example I believe, the heroes were brutal right? So that should have meant their attack was doubled. This means the Golem would have first, reduced the attack from 6 to 3. Then take a wound and reduce the attack from 3 to 0. Whew confusing I know but that is how unit resistances work! Does that make sense?
You're right about physical resistance, but I think that you misplayed the Brutal ability here. You didn't actually "block" the Thugs (as in, using a "Block" ability), you just chose to deal damage to your Golems. And I'm pretty sure that if you don't actually block an enemy with Brutal, their damage is doubled in the Assign Damage phase. So the Golems should have taken 6 damage, 3 of which would have been reduced by the resistance, but still leaving 3 more that would have given them a wound. Still, this is a really fantastic playthrough; definitely the best I've seen for MK! And I'm totally convinced that making a least 2-5 small errors is practically mandatory in a game of Mage Knight, so don't worry about it!
HAHAHAH You got it right on the Brutal here, I believe I mention in the next video how I did this wrong. Thanks so much for the compliment!! This was such a freaking fun playthrough, I need to get this back out again. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks so much, Robert!! 1 camera, all in real time hahahaha! You get used to it. This is my 343rd video on the channel so you start finding a groove! :) Thanks for watching!
I think that you only need 1 heal for each level of unit. So for healing the level 2 unit you need heal 2. (If the attacker had poison, then you need to heal it twice...)
Not how I understand it! I am not blocking I am assigning damage so it is different. If I was blocking I would agree with you! So many nuances in this game, I love it!
yep its correct was dmg absorbed by golem resistance (thats why golems rule) not blocking phase Istvan, we all learn each time we play this awesome game
and can u tell me top ten funniest board game( not thriller like mageknight and gloomheaven or arkham horror,,etc) to play interestingly with 2 to 4 players, not party game like more thn 5 players..
One Stop Co-op Shop If I remember correctly, you can't stack both. You have too choose either the effect from the city or the effect from the keep. It is in the rules somewhere (found it on BGG "Rules, p.9, End of the Turn, 7.b"). Btw, excelent videos explaining this amazing game!
Hahah any other game where you get this many rules corrections? Nothing beats Math Knight I guess ;) Oh well I enjoyed it, being blissfully ignorant and all ;)
Oh I am sure, and what stinks is up to this point we have been doing really well. But you know it happens when recording/explaining. I will fix what I can! :) Thanks for watching!

Your enthusiasm is great. I love the playthroughs. Thanks for pumping out the videos.
Thanks so much for watching!!
Absolutely loving this play-through so far!! :)
Thanks so much, Shane! Just finished it up yesterday so excited to get it edited and posted! :) LOVE THIS GAME!

Ricky Royal! That is about it hahahaha!
Loving your playthroughs! I haven't played against Volkare yet, which is why I'm watching your video, and this is such a nail biter!
Good luck is so much fun!!
Awesome ! I do Also love The way The map builds up as The land is discovered....
One of the BEST parts of the game!!

Reputation seems so much easier to lose than gain.
It's great to see the early choices (advanced cards, golems, etc.) put to good use.
Yeah Reputation is hard to keep up. But the best part in the game is seeing those early choices coming to help you. I LOVE IT!! Thanks for watching and sorry for the errors!

Thanks so much!! Excited to get back to it!

You got it! I will make a note!
Question to subtitle 28:40
Hand limit 6+3 for keeps, but will the city leader bonus +2 ignored?
Yup! You take better of the 2
Great playthrough. Enjoying this series.
One minor mistake about 9 minutes. You cannot play Blood Ritual sideways to help heal the Golems with the Magic Familiars.
I am shamed, I have a subtitle about that mentioning that exact thing!
One Stop Co-op Shop. No worries. There are a ton of rules in this game. I really appreciate your hard work creating these videos.
I just like to clarify rules for others who watch since that's how we help each other learn this great (but challenging) game.
Totally agree, and it helps me with making fixes for the next playthrough video! Thanks again!!
Awesome attack on the city, totally wiped it out! This makes me want to bust out my MK again
Pull it out! This game is great!! Take on Volkare or maybe a solo conquest!! :)
Very cool. You could attack that den next to the white city and you do have looking over your shoulders that dragoooon! Those would get you up levels very quickly.
Going so but Man coldfire attack with brutal? Ouch!! Going to be hard to manage I think!
One Stop Co-op Shop good point. Dragons,,,, bad ombré!
Except I AM a Dragon! You would think I could use influence on it! :)
[10:32] Song of wind reduce plain cost to 0, so you could have explored the last terrain before assaulting the keep.
Or I might be wrong ?
Excellent playthrough! Don't worry about the few small mistakes you've made (although the annotations are useful to people trying to learn the rules as they watch). Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much, Panos!! Will do!

Hey Colin. Your production vales are really great. Are you using 1 camera or 2? And are you narrating live or doing a voice over?
Thanks so much, Robert!! 1 camera, all in real time hahahaha! You get used to it. This is my 343rd video on the channel so you start finding a groove! :) Thanks for watching!
I think that you only need 1 heal for each level of unit. So for healing the level 2 unit you need heal 2.

Yup I agree!
did you forget the Physical Resistance on golem in the magic tower? " All physical Attacks (incl. cards played sideways) are ineƳ cient (halved)"
I am not sure what you mean? The Ice Golem is killed with a Fire Attack? Can you give me some more explanation of what you are saying?
into 6.09 min, is not fire attack physical?
No it is not. Physical is different from fire, ice, and coldfire! 😁
At 18:02 wouldn`t you needed to have double armor to block the swiftness attack with the golem? The golem has only 3 block!
Not how I understand it! I am not blocking I am assigning damage so it is different. If I was blocking I would agree with you! So many nuances in this game, I love it!

HAHAHAHAHA. . . I mean buhahahahahahaha! :)
I would take Sparing Power and make as many turns as possible before the final battle storing Cards under Sparing Power.
I am WITH you Martin!! Let's do this!
9.00 u did mistake.. because u cant use cards sideways to get Heal points at all..
Yup it is in the klingon subtitles and mentioned in the next vid. thanks!

I dont think you can play a card sideway to get a heal point
You are correct I mention that in the next vid
8:45 you place a card sideways to boost your healing to 4. cards can be played sideways in such a way for heal??
No they can't I correct it next video!!
