When you stagger a monster (a good indicator is when they are breathing heavily) shoot out the Clutch Claw (depends on your weapon) and hit the button to use your weapon on it. When a body part turns white, it means that body part will take more damage from your attacks. Don't use the Clutch Claw when a monster is enraged.
i play in the corner only for playing the most important buffs like defense up and self improvement but for everything else ( combat and other melodies) i will just fight normally with the monster

Why are you clutch clawing him when hes tired instead of wailing on him with regualr moves ans songs? Not criticising, genuinely wanna know if that is the better option

@@xxfearlessxx16 HH looks intimidating at first because of the "support" prefix and because of all the songs, but especially NOW in Iceborne, it's a beast of a weapon even solo (not like it wasn't in World). You don't have to learn combos because there aren't really, except you can't do the same attack twice in a row. Just learn how the recitals/encores work and you're set. Also learn to use the flourish (double swing) and the hilt stab (for quick notes queueing). Also now more than in World, QTABS are great, so maybe look up some tutorials for those.
Even the HH gets a cool looking Clutch Claw attack. I love this game so much.

I love how the correct use of the clutch claw makes the difference between a slow and a fast run. Tenderized body parts recieve so much damage.
Switchaxe Zero sum discharge on a wounded part is disgusting.
With a far from optimal mr set I was doing 100+ dmg per hit with a red spirit gauge ls on a wounded rathian head.
I still dont know how 2 use clutch claw effectively lul im playing like its mhw still ;-; 0 staggers

As any HH should. You don't want that buff to be jammed by a monster's hit.
