Yume you do a special master rank event quest. I forgot what it was called. But search “thermae layered armor event” on RUclips and it should show it. Do that event quest and you get it. Personally I find no use in wearing it if you could just wear buff body 😉. Or astral layered armor.
I love that the fact that this hammer always does fire damage means that it's always boiling hot, this hammer is just burning the skin off your hunter as they're using it

Hey Canta great run as always. Just a quick question. Is his normal tail swipe -able? I saw you do it once but u were very close to him so it had very few active hitbox touch u. Just wondering if rolling through the normal tail swipe(not the one that he does and goes airborne) was -able. Thanks.
I would advise against trying to it if you can avoid it otherwise because the attack has 2 hitzones so even if you the tail he'll still hit you with the ice trail most of the time

Hey Canta wanted to ask you this for awhile im a Lance main and i use Guard Lancing its the only way i like to play I've never been good at doging and countering and block makes me feel like a tank XD but i just wanted know if you have any tips or ways to improve on this style i like to get other peoples opinions on stuff like this as i feel it helps me improve any advice helps
I see lots of Rajang runs, and I enjoy fighting Rajang. He moves around a lot, but he basically boomerangs back. There's a reason why there are basically no Barioth runs in iceborne
Barioth is only bearable once you break his claws, but the problem is, if you go for his claws then that adds a significant amount to your run. I think he's fun to fight if you're not going for a fast time, but I can see why people would hate to speedrun him.
I absolutely cannot stand Barioth Lots of shitzones and more of a kelbi fight than even Kirin and Nargacuga. That is such a bad combination. The way he slides around after breaking the arms makes it even more obnoxious to fight him imo I get more enjoyment out of fighting MR Lunastra and I never thought I'd say that about any fight.

It's less bad if you can use Rocksteady - then you can at least quickly break an arm and get the first knockdown quickly. Still an annoying fight for melee.
The drug last one life. The powder spreads a give medium boost while last shorter when the seed give more boost for less duration. But yeah it all stacks.
Probably cause the snowman defuf is now gone and the wind tornado is a little different I do him a lot in 3u and I miss those but most is probably cause snow man defuf

His hitzones are TRASH too and even breaking his arms (which is supposed to be the SECRET TECH for this fight) doesn't actually improve your chances of getting into melee range to do damage very much. Kind of like when Teostra decides he's just going to charge 10 times in a row - but that's the whole fight.
This version is very annoying for melee. Well icompare from mhp3rd tho. When i could just swag axe. The debuff is the worst imo. But jumpy af with lot of stagering. Oh well i need to gitgud. Maybe i got sloppy
Roaring's one of the few openings Barioth gives, I guess. I'm always surprised how comforting Earplugs are, I think more people shouldn't sleep on them

I was also just saying though that Earplugs is actually a really nice skill for general play; a lot of people try to copy these glass cannon speedrun sets but don't have the skill to actually use them very well. It's really easy to take advantage for most players to take advantage of Earplugs. I actually never considered Earplugs on Barioth myself since I never thought he roared that often, but this run was a convincing argument for it, especially since it gives ample time to start breaking those wingblades.
@@dan4455 Hammer (as per this run), Great Sword, Charge Blade, and Switch Axe just to name a few can also make decent use out of Earplugs; weapons with charging mechanics and/or long animation commitments, basically. Normal gunlance for sure, but if anything I'd say Long doesn't really need it as much as other weapons; just shield the roar and continue charged shelling. Not that it can't use it though; practically any weapon can take advantage of Earplugs.
This quest genuinely took me about 25 minutes to beat. Of course, I had pretty meh gear with little to no actual damage enhancing skills combined with the first MR level of the Rathalos SnS...

With a few augments this weapon could probably hit the same effective raw as the Ruiner Nerg hammer. If my math is correct it's only a difference of 10 true raw (382 effective raw on Nerg vs 372 effective raw here), plus you have that extra 10% affinity without augmenting. It's a shame it has fire element or you could throw non-elemental on there as well. The only issue you'd run into is bouncing more frequently, but you shouldn't really be aiming for those places anyway. Of course this doesn't matter when I'm pretty sure you can hit 1612 (310) raw AND white sharpness with the Safi Jiiva hammer lol.

Barioth is incredibly easy. Just pay more attention to his attacks and respond accordingly. Extremely easy to read him.
