MHW Iceborne | Glavenus solo hammer gameplay (first encounter)

- Iceborne monsters are so much tankier even with solo scaling and I love it, it's much closer if not the same as the G-rank of the older games imo. Curious to see tho how fast runs will be with endgame gear but for now I just want to enjoy Iceborne.
Also a heads up, I'm planning to focus on uploading videos of monsters that have been announced beforehand like Glavenus, Brachy etc.. Unannounced monsters will have their name/pictures hidden from the title & thumbnail, if I'm going to upload videos of them at all in the coming days.

Since someone has voiced concerns about possible spoilers in my previous video because I got an early copy I figured I'd take this opportunity to let you all know that I'm planning to focus on uploading my first hunts of monsters that have already been announced before the release like Glavenus, Brachy, Zin etc.
I'm not sure how I'll handle the unannounced monsters yet but if I do upload videos of them, I'll make sure to hide their name and appearance from the title/thumbnail. That is probably going to hurt the visibility of those videos but I'll take that over taking away the surprise from you all.
Edit: For the record, I'm not going to stay spoiler free until January next year so if you want to stay spoiler free for that long, I suggest you unsub for now. I will only avoid spoilers for the first 2 weeks of IB's console release

Thank you for doing it. But I will be perfectly honest: Spoilers are part to the experience. The West has had to wait for titles so long, spoilers were the only way for new content when you really wanted to have more Monster Hunter in your life. But it's the current internet...

This show us that canta is human too. Not some sort of godly hunter that demolish everything in the first try. But it shows another side of human, the willingness to learn and improve. And i just realized that canta put a lot of time and energy to perfect a run. Praise.

I really loved Glav's tail sharpen animation since 4. He's like a samurai wiping his katana on his forearm. Not to mention his ultimate move is basically his own version of a Quick Draw attack.

you played that so well. first fight with him i carted twice in 25 minutes and i didn't capture him until 44 minutes lmaoo. switch axe was not the way to go for first fight

A bit of a question, I noticed that your shadow is still apparent when you're body is blocked by a Monster from the camera. Is this a new feature on Iceborne or was it in the base game? Because if it's the latter I had no idea this existed.
It's a new feature to Iceborne that wasn't in the base game.

It seems hammer is the most effective weapon at the moment. What a wonderful play.
Hammer is effective on Glavenus because of how low his head hangs and his turns are predictable.
If you dont mind to introduce your armor build?
I noticed that you don't use the Radial Menu and opt for scrolling to each item with the D-pad. Is it personal preference or a better way for you to play?
Do you get some of ur data when you import a character from mhw like in the other mh games?
It is a direct expansion, you just boot up MHW and enter Iceborne

if I remember correctly, Galvenus gear looked cool in generations and he was my first ever monster I killed and farmed on monster hunter. SO, I will farm the hell out of him... AGAIN!

ANJANATH IS THE CLOSEST THING TO A T-REX IN ANY MH GAME. Even then, it’s still too skinny to be a T-rex exactly. It’s probably closer to an Albertosaurus or Tarbosaurus.
(Deviljho is actually based off of a T-Rex so that’s fine too)
Glavenus is more than likely based off of a _Carnotaurus_ (look it up) than a tyrannosaur
I understand that not everyone knows the names of all dinosaurs ever, but tbh this annoys me to no end: “X creature is a reptile on two legs, it’s a T-Rex :D”

That is the kind of gameplay i was expecting from monster hunter world... Patience and some good skills with a litte bit of strategy. I hope this can keep going

I super love the sound design for Glavenus.
sweet effects they added for when the heated tail contacts the ground
I really liked that too, but the awesome soundeffect for grinding its tail is gone for some reason. :(

First video i watch on this channel, very good video, one recommendation would be to get a controller with paddle shifters on the back, that way you can use all the face buttons (X, O, Sqr and Triangle) and control the camera at the same time, it makes for a more cinematic and better looking gameplay, sometimes this game makes some zoom in shots like when you mount and you just stare at some random place because you cant move the camera while you mash the button to attack.

Some of the attacks look slower compared to gen?
Not really. Remember that Hellblade Glavenus and Glavenus also behave differently. So, if you were farming Hellblade and adapting to that speed you'd think that's how reg Glavy is too.

What’s your favourite weapon canta or your main?
Hard to say for sure just from watching, but I get the impression that like Glavenus' bite attack hitboxes are cleaner than they were in Gen/U, where the whole front half of his body was basically a hitbox when he did his double bite.
He looks so good too... waiting for Iceborne to come out on PC is going to suuuuck
I also realize the hitboxes for the tailspin attack are limited to only the tail now
Would've been tight if they added the iconic glavenus cutting off rathian's claws in slow-mo in the cutscene. But it's lit nonetheless.

Is it just me or the barioth was way tougher that glavenus and nargacuga?I died like once against the glavenus only cos my controller turned off,I mean like man the hit boxes on this monsters ain't shit compared to barioth
Barioth was pretty tough. Tougher than I remember him being in 3u and GU. I wouldn't be surprised if he sort of serves as the first wall for a lot of hunters

Hunters styles are flashy but too OP imo. They were basically a crutch
Didn't they bring adept db? When you dodge, you will shot the bullet instead of spinning attack
