I am finally getting things together for my offroading build. This is just part of a long road! A roof rack is something ive wanted for a while just for general use. This is going to be for more than just looks, I promise you that! If youre looking for parts for your VB make sure to check out the used market. A lot of the VA stuff does still work for us!

I'm interested to see what you do in terms of an offroad build. Everybody is putting spoilers and lowering these, and very few are lifting and making offroad/rally style cars. I am here for it.
I seen someone on reddit found a kia set that fits perfect and looks great. Low profile and black.
Colorado is calling your name.
I know dude. My wife still wants to live and honestly, I probably would if I could financially.
@HeavyMetalWRX you can make it happen!!
@@HeavyMetalWRXMy wife has a fascination with Colorado lately. I got a white ‘23 VB so I’m ready!!!!
I’m about to buy a vb at the end of the month. As much as I love the look and style of a lowered vb, I feel like it is the antithesis of what it should be. I want to do a build where it is more to it’s heritage and raise it a bit and have it ready for adventure
These are great. I know that both these exact Thule cross bars and basket will handle speeds around 140 mph.
This is good information 👀😏
I've been racking my brain, lol, no pun intended, about a problem I've been having with my DIY low profile roof rack. This video sparked an idea in my brain. Should have my alpha design done and ready for test fit in a couple weeks. Thanks.
Looks good! I have this rack with bicycle trays on my VA. Cool to know the cross bars fit the VB.
Thanks! It's definitely a bit of a tight fit but it works. The real test will be when I attach things to it. 👀
I've seen spacers, springs and even crosstrek suspension for lift. Interested to see which direction you go!
Man, your VB looks awesome. That shot at 14:44 😲I can see a bull bar for the rally build, Possibly a custom piece...
Thanks man! I have to get my bumper bar painted. That's really gonna bring out that off road aggressive look.
Car is looking sick bro!
Let’s go with the rally mods!! Also maybe look into rain guards since you travel often. They are so nice to have for fresh air in bad weather. 🤙
Are you in any Facebook groups? I don’t do social media but definitely want to share some pics my VB. ✌️
So nice
Window visors next. Get the OEM ones.
Window visors as in rain guard? I've never been a big fan of that look. Funny story, a vendor tried to send me some months ago. I told them no respectively and they got offended. Said my channel is too small to be making demands, but I never asked for them. Now we don't talk 🤣
Basket and lights next :) Wonder if there's mounting areas to do rock sliders on the rockers, never really looked for the WRX.
That would be really cool. The side skirts would have to come off but I'm sure there is a way to attach them. Basked I'm still looking for. I have the giant bumper bar going on soon I just need to paint it. Lights I haven't really figured out because I've never done em before. It'll be a first for me! Either gonna get a led bar or 2 giant lights up front.
try the caps on different sides man I am sure they are all mixed up at this point? that is the only thing I can think of to make it better is to try swapping them around.
This is exactly what I'm going to try this weekend. Just to be sure that I got it right. I'm actually going to take the bars off the brackets as well and do them all one piece at a time. I think the bars being on the brackets may have caused them to be tighter than they should be.
Let me buy your side skirts, front lip and diffuser plz🤧great vid!
Haha you don't want the lip and skirts. The lip has been scrapped and I painted the skirts 😂. The diffuser I might eventually get rid of actually and that's fairly new.
Let me know your price 🤣 a clapped lip would look better than my stock front end!! And the white would look good on the blue
Would you be able to put on car with sunroof?
I'm interested in how the tent is going to work out. Any updates?
@@Handy-How-To-Tips I have not been able to do this idea as of yet. It is still on the books for before the end of this year!
@@HeavyMetalWRX I just watched your videos regarding Aeroflow Dynamics. Currently, I'm an unemployed 3D CAD modeler and car enthusiast. I haven't posted any videos yet on RUclips but plan to soon. Anyway, my point is I have a concept for a new product for the VB WRX's and I would love to work with Aeroflow Dynamics on it, since I"m broke and can't afford to start an entire business of my own. I have decent 3D-Printer and have started making the prototype. It'll be pretty sick. I want to also use "Joshua's" red WRX to market the product so hoping maybe you can get me in contact with Jeff from Aeroflow Dynamics or possibly the owner? I tried emailing them a while back but I'm sure they get like that all time, anyway this will be a really popular product, I'm pretty darn sure. I'm still not certain how I want to approach them to be honest, if you have any suggestions I'm all ears. I'm out in California by the way, even though LA isn't too far I don't just want to pop in at AFD and have no one take me seriously lol.
letss goooo
I did an LSD swap in my VB. See if you can do that as a stepping stone to STI drive.
I have a STI transmission already sitting waiting for install. Gonna end up skipping straight to it! If I didn't that would be a good way to start.
Rear LSD from STI?
Which LSD do you have? Would like to look into this myself.
@@dewjustin cusco actually sells a 1.5 and 2 way rear LSD for the VB but it's $1700.
@@Tyrgoth99 Cusco 1.5 way used in housing $850
1st!
You're my #1 🌟
btw, what tint percentage do you have!
I'm pretty sure it's the maximum allowed on the rear , I think 5% and then 20% up front? I don't remember exactly but that's pretty close.
Do you run drunkmann tuning?
My E85 tune is from drunkmann.
And you daily your car? I'm very interested in the cobb stage 2 package with drunkmann e tune. Worth it for daily driving? This is my work car so I'm in it everyday lol
@@cjmurray9383 oh yea dude. Not only do I daily but I race and abuse this thing. Check out the rest of my channel. I have over 400+ races between all my tunes. I also did an interview with Dmann if you check my Tuner Talk playlist. He's a Great tuner.
@HeavyMetalWRX I'm at 67k stock miles with only a axle back. With that many miles do you think I should be worried at all if i do the stage 2? Warranty is finally done so I'm ready to play around with it lol.
Hi i hope you come across my comment. I wanted to see your opinion on the roof rack situation. So i installed one on my vb. I got the oem one and on the install and the cars owners manual it says the vb can have a total of 88lbs including cross bars. Im bummed out and idk what to do because alone the bars are 5-10lbs and a box or rack is 30-40 lbs. that’ then leaves only a few lbs leftfor hardly anything
You know, I saw that weight limit and thought the same thing. Then when you see how the roof rack is installed ( iea literally 4 tiny screws with nuts) it's not surprising. HOWEVER the weight limit of the 2022 outback is 176lb in motion and it's also on the global platform I figured it would be the same. This may have to do with the fact that the outback already has roof rails built in. It's hard to say for sure what the weight limit will end up being but this is something I will be testing. Otherwise you are correct, if it's 88lb then I'll only be able to put up one tire and a small box maybe. 😭
Lol im scared to test it. I my dent the pillars. I do believe the other vehicle capacity’ is more due to it having built in rails. When i got my oil change i asked them and they said 88. Im wondering if i should ask subi of America
Whats also craxy is the va doesnt have that added rail but there capacity is 120-160 I believe
@@jeremiahcrespin9696 I can find out! I have friends at the dealership that work at SOA.
@@jeremiahcrespin9696 yea that'd why I thought it was 176. I'll find out for real
May i know the thule part number?
This is the thule soa567x050. It's the OEM rack from Subaru.
@@HeavyMetalWRX Thank you 🙏 searching for a used one 🤞
People steal crossbars? Wow ..
Yo people will steal anything that's not nailed down. I saw someone on our FB group in the Bronx had their OEM wheels stolen. They left him on MILK CRATES. This world we live in is wild.
@@HeavyMetalWRX you saw that too? Holy crap when I saw that made me go wild. How the hell are you gonna steal OEMS
@@EmperorPenguin yea oems don't even sell for much. 😭
