This is becoming a lost art. People never fine tune their cam gears on these engines anymore and think the K series is a magical engine. Long live the B series! The H/B/F series engines are all capable. I’m sick of seeing K swaps into these classic EG, EK, and DC2’s. Thanks for the video. Hopefully this will motivate all of these lazy tuners out there. Especially the F series forums which is wrought with idiocracy. They think the F is maxed out. They couldn’t be more wrong. They just don’t understand the function of the cam gears and how to boost the high-mid power of their engines. Now they’re K swapping S2000’s left and right. It’s a sad day in modern Honda tuning but your garage is doing amazing things.
Except the K series IS a magical engine. ~ i-VTEC allows you to tune cam timing with a computer AND adjust it at any RPM. VTC is literally one of the greatest modern innovations in combustion engine design. ~ Honda made the K series their universal engine platform for 15 years. This means good used engines are cheap and plentiful now and in the foreseeable future. ~ H/B/F used engines are now hard to find because they were not made for as long of a time, and to boot not even all of them have VTEC which makes this problem worse. This is also why more S2000s are getting K-swaps. The F20C was a unique low-volume engine, and parts are either not as readily-available or are just more expensive than K parts. I respect the H/B/F platform as a diehard Honda fan myself. But you are smoking one if you think it's still the best Honda tuning platform. K is the way :]
