- Emmylou Harris, c'est la vie.
The Hot Band: Albert Lee, Emory Gordy, John Ware, Glen D Hardin, Rodney Crowell, Hank Devito. From 1977 Old Grey Whistle Test.
Songwriter: Chuck Berry. | song title: Teenage Wedding Видеоклипы
God, no makeup, no fancy dancers, just a pure voice and THE Hot Band; it doesn't get much better than this, and decades later she's as beautiful as she was then, and still belting out C'est la Vie!!!
And no people looking at their iPhones!
That’s American art baby! Pure country.
100% agree..
I was just saying this to my mom.
And don’t forget the amazing Albert Lee, what a line up❤️❤️🇬🇧
Plus Rodney Crowell
No piercings , no tattoos , just pure beauty and amazing talent. Hi 👋 from a Moroccan Fan .
Perfect right!
some can some can't, name it and Emmylou can and will; she absolutely masters this Chuck Berry classic, now switch over and watch her master an old Hank Snow hit: I am moving on. She is the personification of talent.
When God made Emmy Lou, he whispered to St. Peter: 'can't do any better than that' - the whole package.
Somebody already said it: "She's the ultimate songbird. "
You got that right I love that girl
And then He created RUclips just so we can watch this in the Fall of 2020 ✌🏽🇺🇸
Agreed
Nikki
This young lady has only gotten better with age. We don't have to many classy ladies like this left
No we don't. They're all half naked with not even the talent in Emmys pinkie finger.
Her bass guitar player is from my home town
AGREE. have no noticed she's even more attractive with silver hair.
We were all young once, but if I had to come back I want to live next door to Emmylou, I'll take from there.🤩
Me too
when Chuck Berry writes a hit, it stays a hit. love emmylou
Very true. Not many can say this.
Great number by a great artist, performed by another great. She was a pretty woman too. Could have been a model if she wasn't musical!
Yeah, but she takes this song to another level. Wish I could have seen them both perform this song together
Emmylou is much prettier to look at than Chuck Berry!
Amen. It just never gets old.
She is very beautiful. Owner of a wonderful voice. I think it's beautiful when an artist presents his band, it's a sign of humility. I was happy to see Elvis' pianist, Mr. Glen Hardin.
Did not know that was Elvis' pianist wow

Emmy Lou is second to none however, give credit to this great group of musicians that augments this classic
Perfect song for sweet Emmy!
Come on folks at this point in 2024, let’s all agree she has sung so many great songs with such voice, energy, and love… a true National treasure ! And she’s beautiful TO THIS DAY ! 😎😁
yeah one of a kind.
ROYALTY !
Her dolly and linda ronstadt used to play together. Three hotties
@@glennknauer2696 they have a documentary about their careers & as you well said playing together. It's very cool 😎. They're all outstanding artists in their own right. Cream always rises to the top. American music has alot of talent going way back to now. Australia not so rich. Happy days mate.
Yes, in 1977 … and probably after that, too.
God I love old Hippies.
Heavenly beautiful lady (and song) ❤❤❤
I saw Albert Lee perform last night in Vancouver. He is incredible.
She is one of the best voices ever, a true American treasure!!! Love all eras of her career and love how gracefully she has grown up!!!
Who doesn’t love Emmylou?
Yessss!!!❤❤❤🇨🇭
Emmylou is purely beautiful one of the greatest female singers ever
My all time favorite female singer, and there is a lot of competition.
@@jackwalker1822 ciao Jack!🙋😍😘💘🍀
👍👍👏👏❤️❤️🇨🇭
God she's such a beautiful woman
How could you not fall in love if you were around her.
A unique singer
I think Albert came out of the womb playing excellent guitar!
Natural talent ! No gimmicks no star culture but genuine music sung and performed with a wonderful voice
This song I hope is in history!!! Listen to the words Chuck Berry bless him
Be nice if they titled it correctly “You never can tell”
Albert Lee, one of the best guitarists on the lanet.
Rodney Crowell no slouch either
My God, emmylou was always just amazingly beautiful
And she still is
One of the best guitarists around. Albert Lee
I thought it was Mr. Lee! Thanks for the confirmation.👍
He played for the Everly Brothers too. Damn good guitarist
Yes he is.
Eric Clapton said he was the best and gave him a guitar, if I recall correctly; you could pull it up on the net.
@@clintmcleod4482 Her band's listed in the info section under the vid. Poke that teeny triangle!
Albert always slays on the guitar.
Great voice, but what an amazing Chuck song, hey. Downunder, South Australia
Chuck Berry was a great songwriter (especially his lyrics), and this is probably my favorite of his many tunes. Berry did more than one very good rendering of it...Bruce Springsteen and his band did a really fun live spin on it...
But I think Emmielou nailed the definitive version of this song.
if you don't know how important Emmylou was to saving country music , watch the Ken Burns Documentary. She ranks up there with Cash, G Jones, Conway, Elvis, Willie, Waylon, Haggard and Dolly. an absolute gem.
country music didn't need saving, it's been granite strong since the late thirties.
Nope. And it most certainly ain't now, at least from a musical perspective.
Great show thanks to dvr i can see it over and over.
@@duane356 amen to that! And if Emmylou gets credit then Gram Parsons damn well should too. After all he discovered Emmylou and helped her get her foot in the door by inviting him to sing on his first solo albums. Country was just electrified by the incredible talents of Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, and even Stevie Nicks who had tons of folk, rhythm, soul and blues influences.
Either way, well put and witty to bat. Cheers.
............................. AND Jim Reeves!
She looks so effortless when she sings, she's like a bird , she just opens her mouth and this beautiful music comes out!! And she looks like she's having a great time too!!! Love this woman!!
+Craig Maggard Echo that Craig! Great tune so what's not to like?!
+Craig Maggard lots of work behind that effortlessness. lots more than the average person would ever dream of.
She's marvelous!
You took ThE words OUT of My mouth about EFORTLESS....in OTHER way, It means TALENT !.....It IS so nice to spot It....whenever I see Linda or Emmylou playing guitar And singing so effortlessly....makes me FEEL so good
THAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EFFORTLESS IVE EVER SEEN
There is two kind of man : those who love Emmylou Harris and those who do not know Emmylou Harris.
Mine has all her albums. I think he's a keeper!
I recently discovered her songs & I am astonished!! She is a singer of a very different world. I say it dream world
---Said Willie Nelson.
just can't get enough of this clip. what a smile, beautiful eyes and that voice.
I’m with you Ross.Fantastic song and performance
And great musicians! Rodney Crowell looks about 15, though, but very talented. Love that pedal steel player too.
Man, I love this version. She gives it the Nashville treatment, alright. Country rock needs to come back.
Yes. Love the musicians and that double instrumental in the middle.
that face....those cheekbones, that shy smile. such soul and heart sharing timeless music
The beauty of Emmylou.
Albert Lee ! Great guitarist and always seems to enjoy himself!
mm.,
Albert Lee is always a well loved guest and guitarplayer when other stars need a real pro
Albert Lee! Anyone with doubts about Albert Lee hasn't heard Luxury Liner from this same group.
He could show up in any club with any group (jazz, blues, rock, country) and burn the house down. If he opens his mouth, the crowd all says, "Y'all ain't from around here, are ya boy?"
Dang! Both Rodney Crowell and Albert Lee? Plus she always looks like a beautiful angel.
very good
Always a treat to watch Albert Lee playing.
Throughout music history Albert Lee crops up. What a master of his art
Charlie-
Let’s give some love to ALBERT LEE. In 2 notes you know who it is. Man, he knows some theory. And he uses it WELL !
I love the way he doubles those notes.
I heard this about 30 years ago and I just listened to it again tonight.
Plug in and play - - clean. That’s Albert Lee.
Other plug in and players: Vince Gill, Joe Walsh, Don Felder, Brad Paisley, LeRoy Parnell
Nice to see somebody recognizing Albert.
Tip: notice how all the musicians are smiling at each other/ enjoying what they’re doing up there. And you can hear it through the song.
@@JohnDoe-jc3cl Yes, I love it when they do that.
I discovered her in 1975. On a jukebox in a tavern. I was 12. (Together again was the song) My dad took me to the tavern on Fridays to get the rest of the family a fish sandwich from there. Meanwhile he'd drink beer, me, soda. Played pool, pinball and the bowling game. Great memories.
I can’t tell you how much I love this story. Growing up in a huge Irish American family with a midwestern dad who fled to the desert southwest to raise his family and never looked back, this sounds like one of our family stories.
Living the dream!
Sounds like a dream compared to whatever we're expecting today!
Your dad raised you right!
What a great story!
Emmylou always has fun with her music. What an iconic, gifted, and talented
artist
She is more than perfect. Sing, play, move, the rhythm! Incredible.
Great gift she has..Thankyou for your gift
Thier will just never be anything like her ever again she is one of a kind and one of the greatest of all time in my opinion
A young Emmy Lou Harris and Albert Lee, wow.
I've always loved Emmylou Harris - what an incredible talent!
Man she was a looker
As I get older she gets prettier.
Love from an old English dude😂
I was two when this video was recorded. I am in retroactive love
Absolutely stunning looking woman x and an amazing artist x

A heavenly rock n’ roll tune sung by an angel
Written for and originally performed by Chuck Berry who died hours ago at the age of 90. Emmylou doesn't let him down with her rendition of C'est La Vie. Love you Emmylou!
Love me some Emmylou
Mart Hyatt Great writer, singer and band!
Grew up listening to emmylou. Great memories! God does make them great!
Mart, did he not notice the royalty check that he got every time she performed it, or every time it was played on the radio? (He wrote this song while he was in prison.)
@@brucematlock4161 right, and I bet this song is a money maker in terms of royalties. It’s vastly used throughout the years for all sorts of media.
Emmylou, I Love You!!!!!!! I use to see her at the Palomino Club in North Hollywood back in the late 70's. Like "two more bottles of fine wine" she just gets better and more beautiful with age.
How did we forget this exceptionly talented singer?
My freaking word she was the shit in the 1970's
West Solon
I never forgot her
Odlicno
Emmylou and band really ROCK on this one..it's fabulous..she is a true superstar in my book.
Wow a classic CBerry rocker and they make it their own ... The HOT BAND indeed. Electric guitars never blended so well and lord what a voice...
Albert Lee is a VERY underrated picker.
Timeless two-chord Chuck Berry masterpiece - 'the coolerater was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale' - who else could come up lyrics like that. Lovely version here.
somebody said Chuck Berry was a "word master." He certainly was the best of them.
"Coolerator" was a brand of refrigerator
I had never heard of a Coolerator before this song! Good to know it's a brand.@@dang2443
Emmy Lou, traditionally easy on the ears AND easy on the eyes
Too bad technology hasn't afford the nose with same luxury.

Man, those television shows from back in the day had the best performances from it's artists.
Emmylou Harris gets better with age. Like a fine wine. One of my favorite duets is with Sylvia Tyson "River Road" From a proud Canadian 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🦋🌈✌🌹
And at the end she gives her peeps some props. That's old school and should be way it is now.
This Lady is a gem in the music world
Ahhhhhh! Emmylou! No one can ever give me the goosebumps on my arm's like this. Beautiful sweet beautiful beautiful beautiful. Standing ovation until I die.
Man, this is goin' way back! It's the most I've ever seen her move in a performance. She's great and I love her.
Emmylou best ever Girl sing her best ever wow
Such a natural, so easy for her, both vocals and playing her instrument. Such a pro, already, so young. Love and respect and gratitude, Emmylou.
Hell dear,how are you doing?
@@davidmoore2325 ciao David!🙋😍😘💘🍀
Best of the best! Will never be another like her!❤ Her voice was a gift from above! She had it all!🎙️💖
Yes, it is a gift
This song of Chuck's lends itself well to being countrified particularly when Emmylou is singing it. She sounds like she's having such a lot of fun on this aided and abetted with a great band.
Yes Padraig, thanks to Chuck Berry - Emmylou & Pulp Fiction all having fun!
Hi Emmy, you bring many years back to live again ! Big ❤
They truly did justice to a great Chuck Berry masterpiece.
They covered it best.
I have always been a fool for a good female singer. Emmylou has always been at the top of the best liked list. What a song bird. But the whole band was made up of excellent musicians. I don't know of another band that can play with this much chemistry. To think they can play this perfect without all the special electronics and do it live. An amazing group.
Emmylou introduces her band and Elvis did too. Glen D. Hardin played piano for Elvis; not sure if any other of these musicians also did.
Albert Lee is a wonderful guitarist. Always great with Emmylou.
Wow........ It's hard to believe, so many years ago. She was great, still is.
Oh man, what a fantastic line up of talent!!!
I saw Emmy Lou with Linda Ronstadt ------'76-----at The Troubador -----------OMG, she was a drop-dead beauty, & it amazed me that 2 beauties got along so well, obviously not jealous of each other. --------------Her voice was effortless. ------------------WolfSky9, 72 y/o
Chuck never looked that gorgeous.
Emmy Lou does such a great job of this song. She is a joy to watch.
I can never forget this lovely lass. Her music, delivery, movements, and the super band. Love her. June 2021 Finland.
Here it's 2023 Already! Timeless Folks...💃🕺💃🕺....🤠...👍...
When she arrived on the scene, the country queens in Nashville didn't know what to do. It was embarrassing how this hippie chick showed them what country really is. The Hot Band consisted of the best in the business. Glen Hardin and James Burton (studio) from Elvis' band. Albert Lee, Rodney Crowell, Hank DeVito. The best.

I can't remember what year it was 75 or 76, but I saw Emmylou and this exact line up of her band in Manchester U.K. I must have been 15 or so and she was amazing. I think it was at The Free Trade Hall. What a concert! And Albert Lee!
I was at that concert at the Free Trade Hall, Manchester in February 1976 and I got right in front of the stage- a few feet from Emmylou and the band at that time had James Burton on guitar. I can recall he also played dobro at one point and Hank Devito took Emory Gordy's bass and he then played mandolin for an acoustic set. Amazing night of music.
The best, they brought the traditional back , played lots of her music with a femsle singer
Great To see Albert Lee on stage I Saw Him many Time with My Friend Dave Edmunds and Old Friend Eric Clapton Great Voice Emmylou Harris
Chris & Sheryl Sibbald-Crow 22-8-2019
RIP Chuck Berry 2018
Buddha Blessed Your Soul and Spirit
Emmylou is her sensational beautiful self, and love the Albert Lee and Hank DeVito collaboration. But the more times I watch this the more I appreciate John Ware on drums. He really laid it down perfectly.
Surely the Old Grey Whistle Test was the coolest programme we have ever had on UK TV?
The sheer variety of the acts and the different songs they played was magic...
I miss it so much. Oh, to be 18 again!
they should do a re run channel with all of the programmes running 24/7
Completely agree,no other program bits OGWT
Bring back Whistle test..
@@raystewart6524 Ya do realise it was because of the state of these acts on the Old Grey Whistle Test that Jonny Rotten started his Band and UK Punk exploded ,yep them Bleedin Bell Bottoms and long hair really pissed him off and i never got to shake his hand ,what a load of shite this version of Chuck Berry`s classic song was ,there was more life in a morgue and that whispering Bob Harris would put ya to sleep . The 1970` was dead before Punk hit the scene in 1975 in London

Excellent song, rxcellent performance with perfect bass line
never tire of this type of music, so easy to listen to and feel at peace.
one of Chuck Berry's best.
J'adore Emmylou et son Hot Band et Albert Lee en particulier ; on ne s'en lasse pas !
Amazing cover from an amazing band. What a line up ..
Yeah, love that bass line.
Got to see her @ Waco Hall in 1980 with the Hot Band.
That Black J200 with the Rose is Beautiful.
I hope they only made 1 and it was for her.
No one else could do it Justice after seeing and hearing her play it.
EmmyLou brings back so many great memories in my life. Her version of Together Again is hands-down the absolute BEST version…..& I’m a die hard Buck Owens fan.I have played his music all over the country, but her version with piano lead ride,& then the cream of the crop DeVito on pedal steel.
Absolute perfection!!!
That song is why I started playing pedal steel. Thank you EmmyLou for your mere presence and your GORGEOUS Vocal.
I'm almost Jealous
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
cant help but love those 'dreamy eyes', and simplicity of this wonder full woman!...not to mention her artisticc talent

C'est la vie... Et oui it is life, and with you it's seem beautiful, La vie paraît plus belle. Thank you, Merci from France.
Hey Igor, Enjoy yourself, This is the Good Shit, not a reasonable facsimile. From a Louisiana boy.......
For someone who was born to sing heartbreak ballads, Emmy Lou is a surprisingly fine rock and roller as well.
In the 1970s, I didn't think much of Emmy Lou's looks. There were a number of female pop stars I was much more attracted to. Now I think she's just about the most beautiful woman in creation!
And blessed with the voice of an angel!
A música e muito bonita.
Love how my soul guides me to healing energy music
Circa mid 70s this song was played on every juke box in all pubs. Everyone had afew pints.
wow! and the way she dances, talks, relates to band/guitar.
We need cloning now!!
Emmylou immer wieder hörenswert !!
This is the best version I've seen. Intro of band members at the end is nice.
One of the best recordings of this song with the ultimate band backing the Queen of country.
I love Emmy Lou then now and forever
The greatest perfomance of a great singer in Emmylou together with her hot band. Fantastic live concert....
