A band full of real musicians who can pick up the beat, timing and melody of any tune at the drop of a hat and jam flawlessly. Now that's Rock n Roll.

And have the time of their lives doing it. They were definitely enjoying themselves
I've lost count of the number of times I've watched this. Can't be healthy. And it's so wonderful to see that crowd. They're LOVING ❤❤ it, and not a phone in sight.
My retirement hobby is barging in to look at baby faces, It is like a mental illness. I am not looking to fix it.
Hahahaahah

Imagine being the person that requested that song. What a moment! I bet that, for the person who requested that song, it felt like time ceased to exist. Awesome.
That's why the second guitar was ready &he doesn't even check the tunuing. He does that 'spontaneous' thing & it's great crowd interaction in his videos & live & I certainly don't mind ... but there's nothing spontaneous about it.
you have no idea
Lasnells "Guardar"
@@alexdelarge209exactly but very well executed as all these people don't realise it's a bit.
@@alexdelarge209except all of his guitars are probably tuned and ready before he receives them... And if he asked for a capo because he wanted it lower, the crew probably took a guess on what key would be suitable based on where he usually sings, and he thought it was good when he received it so he went with it.
It's not a lot of chords, probably pretty easy to catch-up with, especially if you know the song since before, and with his band and professionalism it wouldn't surprise me at all if this is just one of those very spontaneous moments.
If Chuck saw this I bet he was proud and happy!
All the floggers here shouting "This was pre-arranged" or "It's all an act" haven't got a clue. Springsteen pulls sign requests out of the audience routinely and plays them. The band copes with it because they're stellar musicians who have been doing it for 40+ years. Just because you're not good enough to do it doesn't mean it can't be done.
+libertyordeaf Couldn't agree more. I've seen him do this, and he tries to pick songs they HAVEN'T done or rehearsed. It's a challenge for the talented band ... But they are so tight they can do it. In Cardiff he played (almost reluctantly) an obscure outtake called TV Movie, which never made it to an album (other than a compilation). They had NEVER played it live at all... So none of the backing singers or horn section had even heard it (unlike You Never Can Tell which is a classic Chuck Berry number)let alone played it. He laughed at the end and said 'you heard it first, you heard it last!' It is still the only time they've played it. www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/bruce-springsteen-2bd6dcce.html?song=TV+Movie
+Danny Jones I was there for the TV Movie in Cardiff and I hadn't even heard it before! Call myself a Springsteen fan *shakes head*
Lol... Hoping for a similar surprise at Wembley next week
Actually I´m surprised they took so long... It´s a Rock n´Roll man, it´s 3 chords. First Bruce takes too long to pick a key suited for his voice, and then the brass took like forever to find that key... the only one who nailed it on spot was the piano man, he didn´t even rehersed a note. I wonder if Bruce was making time so the guys on backstage could find the lyrics, as he´s clearly (and understandably) reading the lyrics from a screen below.
+Donde está Carter!! he is just entertaining the crowd and playing with it, pretty obvious. i don't think musicians with 40 years of experience needs your advice :)
It is physically impossible to watch this without smiling :-)
Or both!!!
True!

There is a reason people like bruce springsteen have millions of fans, he's music can pick you up when you're down, the man is gifted.
The man has depression , that's why.
He can't sing in tune and the people are idiots.
After so many years of failing to recognize this legendary musical genius, I must finally acknowledge...Bruce is The Boss!
I've lost count on how many times I've watched this.
while we cant get out of our houses, its a good time for watching this 10000 times, yes
I've watched this maybe 100 times since x-mas and makes me soo happy and
and in a bouncy mood!
Hahaaaa me too!!
And me, can´t remember but at least a hundred times, and never get bored
Same here bro. I jam to this on my guitar.
AMAZING. A New Jersey rocker in his late 60's with a New Orleans-style jazz horn section (with toilet plunger and cow bell), playing a 1960's pop song written by a mid-west black man, in Leipzig Germany in 2013. And the audience is going crazy. Music is what unites us all!

This is the only video related to music that has actually made me cry of how beautiful music is. This performance is just magical and makes me realize how God made us humans with such talents to honor him and Music is a way to do it.
A true band of people at the absolute top of their game. Real instruments. Real Music. What an absolute privilege to see them each step up and let their own personality shine through. The bass guy didn't get air time, but he did a superb job.

This concept is not beyond an average garage band. Pick a song with a basic structure, find a key and feel your way into it.

When it comes to "superstars," all the acts at this level can do a highly produced, million-dollar stadium show. The world of the A-List rockstar is actually one of the easiest ways to do live music. The thing I love about Bruce Springsteen is no matter how big he gets, and no matter how massive an arena show he can command, you always KNOW he and his band could crowd themselves on a tiny stage in your local dive bar, play all night for maybe 20-30 people, and still deliver virtually the same kick-ass performance.
I know I'll never see Springsteen in my neighbourhood dive bar. But just the fact that I *could* -no pyrotechnics, no autotune, no laser light show, just a bunch of guys plugging straight into their amps and blowing the roof off-is a reminder of how much real talent comes with the artist, and how vary little talent comes with all the superstar gimmickry.
Saw him ages ago in Asbery Park. Knew then what I still know: best band I've ever seen.
And I've seen them all...Who, Stones, The Band, Rundgren....all tremendous, of course.
Bruce and the Mighty Es...
Just tremendouser...
You are right.
Even Chuck Berry would be prancing with his guitar in heaven .. hearing his song sung by Bruce ...& those horns & piano ...such
incredible energy !!!
I was fortunate to see Bruce Springsteen twice.
The first time was in 2006 with the Seeger Sessions in Oslo Spektrum and one time on the first concert he had at Valle Hovin in 2008.
Both concerts is stuck in my memory as they both had great sound, great atmosphere and packed places that showed how big place he has in every Norwegian heart and soul.
Keep coming back! 28 years old and I hate that people my age don't know who the boss is!!! My mother raised me loving him and the love will carry on with me! Love You Bruce!
Da hat Deine Mutter gut dran getan!!! Bin selber inzwischen 71 und habe alle Größen aus dem Showgeschäft miterlebt. Kann Dir nur sagen, ein Wahnsinn und

I couldn’t just scroll pass your beautiful comment without appreciating your support over the years. I must say it gladdens my heart to know I have fans like you.

What a band, the piano and horns were fantastic, you can tell Bruce really shows respect to his bandmates too

Bruce has just been to Ireland for a few concerts. I couldn't go, recovering from knee surgery. But there is a lot of play on the radio. Someone remembered this very concert, that the band had never practiced the song and there were a few tries before they took off. This only makes it more brilliant!
Playing on repeat forever ❤

This is messy, occasionally chaotic, far from perfect. Exactly how I love it. Music is human emotion, the art of having a load of fun together rather than striving for absolute, robotic perfection. This reminds me of the Seeger sessions. It's something I play after a shit day at work!
It's what you go to live concerts for. If you want perfection, watch the video. No lip synching here, pure joy... and a band that sure can play 😁
Never go to real concert before?
I think the trumpet has a big part in the chaotic lol
Not only they could pick the tune, pace and melody in just under three minutes. But the Boss is really THE boss, having fun but at the same time letting his musicians to shine one by one. A real leader!

There are live acts and then there are LIVE ACTS. No one beats Bruce live. No one.
When I was in college in 1972, I saw him, like 25 times in small places, like the Gym at Fairleigh Dickensian. He played often and everywhere, then "Born to Run" came out and he started selling out arenas and you couldn't beg, buy or steal a ticket.
There is something so nice about this man. We've met his mum, we've met his sisters. He's an awesome musician and by the looks of things a pretty decent human being as well. Love you Bruce.

A expressão na cara do Bruce de felicidade e orgulho durante as diferentes actuações dos menbros da sua banda é maravilhosa!
Adoro este Homem, the Boss!
that's the gig worth going to - no fake crap, no playback, no bs - just honest to god music played by pros:)
Every musician on stage using a TelePrompter with words and notes isn't "fake?"
Your proof ? Bruce has a prompter for covers and some of his old old catalog. When the adrenaline is flowing , it can be hard to hit all the words especially with as packed as he lyrics can be.
I love how he interacts with his band! no ego on him!!
Because he knows some these guys since his early twenties. Miami Steve he knows since 1970, Gary Tallent probably since 1969, Max and Roy since 1974. He knew them way before he was famous, they are his link to his past, to remember where he came from. Just a Jersey Boy that loves to play music with his friends, wether it is at the Stone Pony for 150 people or Leipzig for 50.000 people. Makes no difference to him.
The piano guy is the GOAT
I'm here again, an still loving it, now 73.
That’s right: you never can tell. I love the way Springsteen really gets into the music he & his band are making. They look like they’re having a wonderful time.
No you can tell🙏
When you go to his concerts it’s like a big party. They are on stage for hours and it’s such fun. I saw Bruce in 2014 and 2017 in Adelaide....so amazingly good! It’s hard to imagine he’s 72 years old now.
@@jackieharrington7166: I find he's only gotten (?) better looking as he's aged! .
If this is an impromptu jam, then holy shit every musician on that stage is just outstandingly talented.
This is the E-street band, to play in there you already have to be outstandingly talented ;) Hans down one of the ebst bands in existence.
Only if you're talking about the horn section. The band itself had played it in concert before.
Of course they all are. But the song is one of the simplest possible.
@@mischak65 It's a song they all know from their childhoods. The changes are simple. They've probably all played it before. It may have been planned, but just made to look impromptu. Any experienced soloist could jam on this one. Maybe not at the skill level of some of these guys, but there are many fine soloists around. But Bruce did his job. He wowed them. Chuck Berry's songs grow better with the years. Memphis, Johnny B. Goode, You Never Can Tell, Maybelline, etc.....They are all so catchy, and have great rhythm, melody, and outstanidng lyrics...they are just timeless. There are five things a rock and roll performer can do to entertain onstage.....sing well, dance or move well, play his instrument well, write catchy songs, and write great lyrics. Only Chuck did all five at the highest levels.
It ain't amateur hour on that stage.
Ich weiß nicht wie oft ich den Clip schon gesehen habe - es ist immer noch lustig und wundervoll.
I've watch this for the 300 times now. I love every second. So much talent and fun at the same time!

This is my FAVORITE Springsteen video. It's funny and great entertainment. My 7-year old granddaughter and I love to dance when I play it! She always says "this guy is really good!"
And this is just one more reason why this normal guy became The Boss.
He does not only tell us stories so believable that we think are about us.
He does not just have that incredible voice, torn but mellow, that tickles our souls with his every word.
He not only taught his guitar how to talk, how to fill in with color the pictures he paints.
But he is most of all a natural born leader, and he leads the best rock band in the world today. He conducts an orchestra of unbelievable musicians that follow him on his musical excursions, surviving, improvising, and always leaving a clear footprint on the tracks of history making.
Thank you Bruce for you are my Boss, my inspiration, my refuge, my wings. I cannot imagine life without you.

"Maybe I'm a little over-ambitious ...give me a capo" ...haha, classic!
* a capo would have essentially raised the notes even higher- "at the top of my voice" already so a Gable makes more sense- ready to play, tuned up and standing by!
But the guitar he got had a capo on it. I, too, thought it strange that he was talking about the top of his voice and then wanted a capo.
By using the capo he could play in a lower key, but still use open chords , I.e. playing an A at the third fret using a capo gives the key of C
I love the looks Steve is giving him. LOL
I thought he said "cable", implying a different guitar.
One of BEST!!! Thank you for this great song! With all instruments GREAT! Great Singer and special good musical Band!!!
Love the brass section ( having learned on Trombone) and the piano solo is amazing. Of corse eveyrone loves a sax solo.
Bruce , sometimes you just do some things joyous. This was one such time.
That's why Bruce is one of the greatest musicians of all time!

+wreek havo I never knew squat about Springsteen until I watched a few videos of him live. Now I own his records from Born to Run through The River. His studio albums don't suck, they are quite good. Springsteen separates himself from everybody through his live performances. He's been giving everything he has for fifty years.
This Man is Infectious!
I'll live with his sweet poison

The genius of Chuck Berry - what he could do with just two chords and lyrics that told a story was remarkable. No one has done it better.
Ever.
This is Bruce Springsteen. I think you'll find he and his band are better and cleaner than Chuck Berry. I know it's hard being old (I'm 67 so I'm old too) but life moves on and, thank god, life gets better.
@@SuzyQ334 I was wasn't discussing the performance here, but the quality of the song and its lyrics...
@@SuzyQ334 the song is literally by Chuck Berry
@@matteoc3487 There are many ways you could have written that sentence without the use of "literally'.
