I was in line for 7 hours while 8 months pregnant to get tickets to see Bruce. In ‘88. It began to rain and everyone was standing outside ( me sitting in a lawn chair), when they told everyone to come back tomorrow. They had a big box and asked you to draw a number from the box. That number signified where we were to be in line the next day. I was very happy as it put me much closer to the front of the line than where I was. I bought a black top and put big white lettering on it that said, “This baby is dancing in the dark” and wore it to the concert. People guided me up to the front where I was dancing with my big pregnant belly. Clarence Clemons was playing sax as he saw me. He pointed me out to Bruce. Bruce was very pleased and began to serenade me dancing back and forth while I was. Best concert moment for me ever!!

How can you not get emotional when you see this video, not only it is an ICONIC song, but when you see his kindness to his mother, his love and the way he treats her, and later to his baby sister, you do remember that family is the foundation of every good human being! Then you add the amazing talent this man has and the result is just superb!!

I am your age and saw him in Cleveland during the Born In The USA tour. I think every 20something girl in the stadium hoped to get pulled up on stage to dance with him.
This song gave me my 15 minutes ( and much more ) of fame...in 1985 i attended a week long residential event hosted by the Prince's Trust, geared towards helping young people choose their career path...on the last day the then Prince Charles attended and a disco was set up in his honour...now I wanted to give my mum a surprise and asked the cameramen filming the event how I could get on TV...They said ask him( Prince Charles) to dance...The dj put this my favourite song at the time on and I thought to myself it's now or never, so I did ask him to dance and he did dance with me to this very song....my mum certainly got a surprise when she put the national news on and when she saw my photo of the occasion on the front page of The Times the next morning!...Thank you Bruce and King Charles for giving me my moment in the spotlight and my very unique claim to fame...✨️...Rest in peace Adele...🙏...we love you Bruce...💜

No matter how many times I watch that clip it brings a tear to my eye, especially when his mother is brought on stage and the crowd erupts. And when his sister, Bruce and Jake all start jumping up and down near the end I too have to jump out of my seat and join them.... BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT!!!
you are so right about this man!! I’m 69 years old and i did not like him until I was in my 50’s but lordy mercy i can’t live a day without him. love you Boss!!
I will be seeing Bruce for the first time in 14 days and I cant wait. He has been the #1 concert on my list my entire life and now I get to finally see him.
Oh my word, this is so BEAUTIFUL, having goose bumps all over my body. Just look at her face, she is in another world. Thank you, Bruce, this is great !! Also have your much younger version, where you helped a young girl on the stage. She was standing in the first row and the look of disbelieve in her eyes when you took her hand, is stunning. Oh, I love it. God bless you, Bruce 🙏🙏🙏
I thought the young girl was Demi Moore ...however this song has a Wikipedia page of it's own and I realised that young girl in the video was Courtney Cox .. an actress ...however Mr Springsteen did not know that she was an actress ...if you want you could read up more here ….en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_in_the_Dark_(Bruce_Springsteen_song)
Natalene Visser Dancing in the dark was a proper music video, they filmed it in a studio, it wasn’t just some random girl he pulled on stage from the crowd, but a hired actress, Courtney Cox. I don’t know how you could think otherwise. At the time Bruce didn’t even want to do the video as he thought he’d look silly but they convinced him & it turned out to be one of his biggest hits!
My beloved mother had Parkinson's, she passed away a month ago! Springsteen gave her good times with his songs, moments that enchanted her. She- my mother, found out about her mother Adele's departure and tears 😢😢😢😢
Dancing in the Dark has never been one of my favourite Springsteen tracks. I think he has done vastly better songs over the years in basically every way. But this performance never fails to make me smile. The energy, the crowd, the sense of companionship between everyone on that stage. It's just perfect.
when i saw it, i wished my mom was still alive so that we could dance together... we never did, when she was alive, i'm sorry about it. I love Bruce Springsteens music and his attitude.
3:00 A.M. and I’m up watching this. Cannot sleep because this was playing in my head. So I gave in and am rewatching the video over and over. I think it’s cool that the U.K. loves “The Boss.”
The crowds reaction is just a blow away....the crowd appreciates a sons love for his mother and the obvious love Bruce has for his “little sis”....Proud to be from New Jersey!!! Rock On!!! Happy Birthday Bruce....we’re both 71....hope you have another 71 in you....
Been to hundreds of concerts throughout the 80s, but never had a chance to see him until about 5 years ago. It was everything thing they had said it was & more.
3 years later, I’ve now seen this live. Cardiff 05/05/2024. Sounded just how I had hoped and it was phenomenal! I wouldn’t recommend anything more than seeing him live! It’s something I’ll never forget

Hey dear How are you doing dear I hope you are doing well,my name is Trent Micheal,I will like to know more about you dear, can we talk on whatsapp? or what's your number so I can just text you 😊
I’m glad to see that there aren’t many negative comments about this Bruce performance! I am going on 70 now, and also a ‘Jersey Girl’, who grew up with this kind of music. Still today, I love ALL genres, and THIS is just one of many ‘classics’ imo. * I saw Coldplay in concert in ‘22, and at the very end Bruce came out as a surprise guest and did this song (and another one) with Chris Martin. It got a LOT of booing from the ‘younger’ audience and IDK why - they were both 👍 I thought!
I guess that doesn't matter how much he got paid for the show that moment dancing with his Mom was priceless. Thanks for the music and the memories!!!❤❤
July 2024 still listening to the boss, his greatest band members and street name. I love how the band members having a good time while playing (and dancing) dancing in the dark. I love the part when Steven (usually) has something up his sleeve at minute 6:13! Thanks for the great tune!
Bruce is so utterly amazing as a performer, son and all around wonderful man! I dont know what kind of people would possibly give a thumbs down, but I feel very sorry that you cant enjoy this awesomeness!
Gracias.

This is one of the most epic live performances of all time.
You 've nailed it!👍
I love it all very much!
Brings tears to my eyes, every time I see Bruce without the late Big man Clarence Clemons on Saxophone. RIP big fellow!Junior does a darn good job though.
I wonder if that is his mother. This video, smiles brightened up my day. I miss the glory days when I was dancing through my life and I could have used a lot of help.
How beautiful is Bruce dancing with his mother!! Exciting 💖
I Love This Man, He Touches My Soul, This What America Should Be About !!!!!!!!!!!!!
IN SPITE OF THE YEARS HE STILL HAS THE SAME FEELING AND EMOTION THAN WHEN HE WAS YOUNG. EXCELLENT SONG BRUCE.
Bruce, Make me think of my mother and family.Even though we're not together.Let me die and watch and the tears will flow.
One of my favourite videos which always makes me smile, made more poignant with the passing of Bruce's dear mother Adele. RIP, may she always be dancing.
The best part is when you dance with your mom. She looks so happy, her face is glowing. She must be so proud of you. Great son!
Of course, do they make them like him anymore???
THEY'VE UPLOADED THIS FINALLY!!!!
MY FAVORITE "DANCING IN THE DARK" PERFORMANCE!!!!
Manan Mahnot mine too!!!
Mine too
This never gets old because Springsteen keeps it fresh. May be my favorite performance, too!

Ray has really developed the outro on this song as the years have passed. He really has magic fingers to go with Bruce’s magic presence.
How beautiful, dancing with his mother. Just wow!!!
Yes indeed love my mommy

Bruce a legend with a big heart. His beautiful mom on stage with him is a great moment. And his beautiful sister.
Genau das!
What a guy! He knows how to entertain a crowd for sure! That was a classy move on his part to bring his mom on stage to dance with, that was so cool! Bruce has is own style and he never disapoints his fans thats for sure! Rock On Bruce! 😎👍
There can be nothing more 'Rockstar' than sharing the stage with your Mum. 🤩
Couldn't stop the tears. A true artist with the greatest heart. Still moves me
No matter how many times I watch that clip it brings a tear to my eye, especially when his mother is brought on stage and the crowd erupts. And when his sister, Bruce and Jake all start jumping up and down near the end I too have to jump out of my seat and join them.... BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT!!!
Ditto. listen to this video every day for a pick-me-up
That's not his mother
ooooooooooooóooooooooooooooooooo
Not his mother it's the girl from the video
God bless you a million times over. What a beautiful son to a beautiful mother. We love you BOSS! Love from Sri Lanka.
you are so right about this man!! I’m 69 years old and i did not like him until I was in my 50’s but lordy mercy i can’t live a day without him. love you Boss!!
And a wonderful brother to his little sister.
Zu Recht nennt man ihn "the Boss" so wie Eric Clapton "Mr. Slowhand "
I thought the young girl was Demi Moore ...however this song has a Wikipedia page of it's own and I realised that young girl in the video was Courtney Cox .. an actress ...however Mr Springsteen did not know that she was an actress ...if you want you could read up more here ….en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_in_the_Dark_(Bruce_Springsteen_song)
yes it was Courtney cox who he helped up on stage in the Dancing in the Dark performance /Video from the front row I'm a huge springsteen fan myself
Courtney Cox, star of Friends, which is huge in the UK as well. Acting and dancing, but all scripted. great video!
@@bellabana Why could I not think otherwise? I'm not from America and I don't know all your stuff, so don't be rude, please.
Is that his mother? This is the sweetest thing I've ever seen
Yes, she is
His sister Pamela's there as well.
Yes! The one and only Adele Zerilli-Springsteen, still alive and kicking in 2019.
Awwwwwww.....true love🎶❤❤❤❤
He is so sweet with his mom.
1985 summer Los Angeles. 5 nights, went to all the shows. Now at the age 53, I feel like a teenager again. Thanks 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Jonathan Oren amazing ! You are still young
Hi Jonathan ,
I went with my brother & 2 friends , 85,000, at he coliseum , it was fkn amazing . We had seats on he field.
Amazing!
Wow! Holy shit that would have been a great week!
My beloved mother had Parkinson's, she passed away a month ago! Springsteen gave her good times with his songs, moments that enchanted her. She- my mother, found out about her mother Adele's departure and tears 😢😢😢😢
I am so sorry for your loss.
This man is a legend and this song is so great. When I hear this song wherever I am I just wanna tell people dance with me it is Bruce
Dancing in the Dark has never been one of my favourite Springsteen tracks. I think he has done vastly better songs over the years in basically every way. But this performance never fails to make me smile. The energy, the crowd, the sense of companionship between everyone on that stage. It's just perfect.
I start smiling uncontrollably the second i hear that intro, what a performance
Yep - I'm with you Cameron. xx
Lost my Mom 7 years ago....this is such an heartwarming and classy demonstration of respect and love by Bruce to his family. Thanks for the memories.
when i saw it, i wished my mom was still alive so that we could dance together... we never did, when she was alive, i'm sorry about it.
Thank you very much for this moment that always puts a smile on my face....Rip Mrs. Springsteen
What a Legend! Hope he‘s getting on tour after corona, need to see him live.
Been to hundreds of concerts throughout the 80s, but never had a chance to see him until about 5 years ago. It was everything thing they had said it was & more.
A true gentleman of rock. The way he interacts with his fans makes him the "Boss". 💯😎
honestly can't imagine what the atmosphere felt like here, wish I could've seen this live. Truly magical stuff
3 years later, I’ve now seen this live. Cardiff 05/05/2024.
Sounded just how I had hoped and it was phenomenal! I wouldn’t recommend anything more than seeing him live! It’s something I’ll never forget
1988, I was student at the eastgerman seafaring school in Rostock Warnemünde. And I was living in Berlin, so I had the order to organize as much as possible tickets. We were really plenty students at this concert in Berlin. I will never forget.
I literally cried when he took the mom out. That was awesome
Shit is so beautiful & heartfelt
Yes, it is really awesome! Today it's mothers day in Germany, listen to "The Wish" (Bruce) It is just as good, I really love it, but not a lot of people know the song....
Me too. His mother is alike to mine.
It means so much, December 2019, to see him embrace his mama and sis. This why we love Da Boss.
I don't know why this brings me to tears. I stumbled upon this as someone who has never really listened. I watch it on repeat now lol

Yesss emozione passione pur, very intense agree with Ms.Isis A.respect to Bruce and her Mum and cute Sister...thanks my good Bruce for the performance
@@johanesoerding7564 Who are you..before you were BS..
WOW so BEAUTIFUL brought tears to my eyes. What the BOSS does here is just so BEAUTIFUL.
Bruce S. you can see on his face and his gestures that he is a good man, he looks like my older brother, I lost him on 12/10/1994.
I love your Brother
Amen.
So sorry you lost your brother.🙏❤
true
Best MOM ever. Thanks for buying your kid the guitar!!!
Absophuckinglutly
At 16 his mother got a loan to buy him a Kent guitar that cost $ 60
Amazing
Isaac Alexis Rivera I think he has a guitar before a folk and he rent it ?! I don’t know
I know right
This is the best version ever 💙
I totally agree.
This is AWESOME!!! How wonderful to dance with his mom and then have his sister finish out the song with him. ❤️❤️❤️
I have such a crush on Bruce's sister! What beauty. What a glow. What energy!
My heartfelt condolences on the death of your dear mother, dear Bruce! be strong because she will always stay with you! Best Wishes from Germany❤
Bruce is so utterly amazing as a performer, son and all around wonderful man! I dont know what kind of people would possibly give a thumbs down, but I feel very sorry that you cant enjoy this awesomeness!
Hi Kim,hope you’re okay ?
No matter how often I watch this, everytime he brings his mom out I just start crying ❤
I know, cutest thing ever.
@@stacymuise1 yes I have the same xD
Same to me😸
me too it reminds me of my mom died in 2011, god bless Bruce's mom xxxx
I din't realize that was his mom! She must be sooo proud of him, but likely worried for years that he'd never amount to anything.
Gracias.
Driving from Northern California to San Diego, played this song over and over
Heyyy
It seems to me, that Bruce and his band, have never lost the desire, to make good and honest music over the years!
Não passo nem uma semana, sem ver vídeo ou ouvi música do Bruce.Amo de paixão!

How can a son makes his mother happier and proud with what he has achieved??? I guess that i couldn't say the same thing about myself! Hi from France :)
