Have you ever seen a 1950s Smith and Wesson I Frame Revolver? This particular gun is a Terrier which is chambered in the 38 S&W cartridge. This cartridge is smaller than the .38 special cartridge and was made first in 1877. Some refer to it at the .38 S&W short round.
This gun is built on the improved I Frame which is smaller than the later made J Framed Smith and Wesson revolvers chambered in .357 and 38 Special. This pistol has very good iron sights and is extremely accurate with very little recoil. Some might refer to this particular revolver as the “Baby Chief Special”.

When I went to work for the post office in 72 W. we carried 38 S&Ws to deliver registered mail to the train station and airport. In the 90s, as an investigator with the PO, anytime I went to an office I had to inquire and collect any ammo or guns that they still might have. I ended up with over 1500. 38 S&W cartridges. I was able to purchase at auction one of the po marked ,38s. It was the Terrier, a 38 on the 32 I frame. It was and is a great little gun. I have a Wesley and HR in the same caliber. I load using 148gr wc seated out from an old Hornady manual. PS:We used target master plastic cases with plastic reusable slugs driven by a primer only to practice shooting in the men’s bathroom. I have a 1952 post war Smith & Wesson Regulation Police in the .38 s&w caliber as well and its 4 in. standard barrel and half moon front blade sight and what great quality and true craftsmanship they used in making those vintage revolvers back then !! This gun is so crazy accurate it's like I can't miss my target out to 15 yards now I need to test it indoors at 7 yards on paper and it's a 5 shot I-frame as well with its deep cut diamond cut checkered grips and it was the best pawn shop find of a lifetime 6 years ago !!!

I have one my dad bought new for $50 in 1946 when he returned from Army service during the occupation of Japan.
Mine has the 1/2 moon rounded front sight. Probably has had less than a box of 50 rounds shot through it. I found 2 boxes of MAGTECH I found during the ammo shortage. Just to have rounds for it. I may take it out soon to shoot it . Or not.

I had an Enfield #2 in 38 S&W. Your right. That round is surprisingly accurate! Wish I still had it.

اروع مسدس (بكره) بكافة المواصفات٠٠٠وكم اتمنى لو ان تحور ( بكرة الاطلاقات) لتحمل( ١٠ اطلاقات) ليكون المسدس يتمتع بقوه ناريه رائعه لأنه سلاح قصير المدى وان عدد االاطلاقات الحاليه قليل٠٠٠وبما ان الاشتباك مع الهدف قريب فإن نفاذ الاطلاقات بسرعه
يتطلب إعادة الإملاء وهو امر خطر جدا على الرامي لان الهدف القريب اذا لم يصب فإنه توجد لديه فرصه كبيره لقتل الرامي خلال إعادة الاملاء٠٠٠اتمنى ان تكون فكرتي واضحه٠٠٠
