If you look at all the steps, you are set back a touch on the Capezio box, but are pretty much right on top and in the center on the Energetiks box. Explains why hops on pointe more solid in Capezio's. Plus, your feet look better in Energetiks to me.
This. Was. FASCINATING. To see someone who is SO skilled talk about how steps and dance is *different* and harder or easier just based on the difference the shoes make. Amazing. Thank you for sharing! I would love to know if you find that your primary Blochs are better for most/all/any of these steps compared to these different brands...and how those differences would affect your choices of what to wear for particular performances, were you to perform in something.
When I first started in pointe shoes I wore Capezio shoes which were great however they aren’t designed to fit someone like me who has a skinny heal with basically nothing to grip into, no matter how tight I sewed the ribbons and elastics on. So I bought some Energetiks which have been amazing. I wear the Almaz shoe.
Can we just talk about the fact that I saw a comment about this a couple videos back and she actually did it! This just shows how much she cares! Love you Claudia!💖💖
I love Russian Pointe pointe shoes like I found them a year or 2 ago and it’s the best fit out there for me. Really hard but flexible at the same time 🥰
This was a wonderful video. ✨✨. It’s fascinating to listen to a professional describe HOW your pointe shoes make such a difference. From my vantage point, I have to say the Energetiks make your feet look amazing. Thanks for another fun lesson.
Hi Claudia, I really need help on how to get better pointe and how to have flexible calves, I really tight calves and I'm trying to improve my point but it's really hard to do both at the same time. Thank you, you are amazing!!!
Capezio‘s were more easy to do hops on point with because Capezio‘s have such a strong box and shank because it’s more of a beginner point shoe to help you to get your feet broken and strengthened. Btw love your vids😁
Russian-style shoes in general are usually made to pop up onto pointe, without a whole lot of rolling through the feet. The Capezio’s are harder to get up on because they require you to articulate your feet more. In your particular case (I’m pretty sure you went with Sapfirs and Donatellas? I didn’t go back to check) the Sapfirs have a much smaller platform, which is why it’s easier to do steps where you’re quickly up-and-down (ie pirouettes, fouettes), where as the bigger platform of the Capezio’s allows you to stay up longer (ie piques, Italian fouettes)
My first pair of pointe shoes were a pair of Sanshas, which felt terrible, but then I tried Capezios which felt miles better. Right now they're a favorite and I'll stick with them, but maybe I'll try other pointe shoes later when I'm not a broke college student.
Hi Claudia, I love your videos. I am just wondering what happened to the the community forum on your website? I really liked it and I am sad that it has gone. Sorry if this is a stupid question and you have already addressed it.
As a ballet aficionado, that was interesting to watch. I could see a distinct difference in the mechanical portion of the way you moved. I think the Energetiks looked a bit nicer on your feet, too. When I danced, back in the stone age, there was Capezio and Freed, and sometimes Selva, which no longer exists. Dancers today are lucky in that shoe manufacturers are realizing that ballet is a sport (only harder, LOL) and dancers need better equipment. The shoes are so much better now. It's not enough that they are pink and shiny.
Thanks for the pointe shoe comparison. Your feet look lovely, my fav is the energetics too! Your arms and double pique turns were gorgeous! Keep up the great work
Thank you for this video! I always knew ballerinas wear different shoes for different shows and this was a great video to clearly demonstrate why!! 😀👍🏽
Love this video !! Please could you do a video on alternate careers for dance lovers that aren’t a dancer/teacher etc. Because of injuries and things I can’t go down that line but I still would love to be involved in dance :):)
@@just_sarahjane intresting... they might have been older then. I'll most likely have to switch brands for my second. My teacher wants me to try Russian Pointes when I'm done with these.
Ya they might break down pretty quickly because the glue is old. I’ve worked at a Capezio store for 3 years and they haven’t been in production for at least that long, if not longer.
I'm not a dancer, but i could tell for most steps before you picked which one you were gonna pick. You can totally see it in your body which one is working better for that step. I think its really cool that you can see that.
biggesrt thing is ankle strength. you can use regular class, thera bands, foot exercise, all sorts of things. look up ankle strengthening videos, it'll really help. the stronger you are in your calves, thighs, and especially ankles, the better off you'll be, and also work on balancing on flat. its safer for you if you work on all of these. just really work on strength
This is super interesting! I’ve worn both of those shoes and have also worn Bloch Heritage so I found myself trying to guess what you would choose for each step based on my experiences. I guessed almost all of them right! I feel the energetiks (or Russian Pointe for me) are more similar to the Heritage and the Capezios have a more broad box for balancing. At least that’s been my experience. So I really enjoyed this!
Hey claudia! You rock! So. I have a new ballet teacher. She has new rules. For my pointe test, I have to be able to hold a passe on releve for a minute on each side. I've been take pre pointe for 3 years I'm currently at like 10 seconds, and am not seeing any improvement! I really want tobbe an pointe by my sophomore year, and I'm an 8th grader this year. Could you give me some tips for that passe, or maybe do a video on excersises to improve your holds? Desperately need help! Thank youuuuuuuu💙💙💙
Emily Eagle I’m already en pointe, but I’ve always struggled with balancing. Something that has helped me a ton is standing somewhere at barre where I can’t see myself in the mirror and really focusing on the feeling of my body placement and my muscles rather than how it looks. I find that when I stare at myself in the mirror trying to find things that are wrong, I actually make my body alignment more incorrect than when I look forward and feel my muscles working. I don’t know if that’ll help you or if you’ve already tried that, but it’s worth a shot if you haven’t!
I held a balance for so long, and for me I just imagine my rib cage coming together in the front, and imagine someone punching me in the stomaches. And don't pull back and don't be afraid to be too far foward
I like the energentixs on you. I believe they are Russian pointe in the States. Yeah, they support your foot for sure. Capezio definitely a lighter shoe.
When I did pointe I had bought Capezio. I found them to be really hard and I struggled quite a lot with getting a good arch because the shank was so stiff. I would also feel a lot more sore and quicker too. We had gotten them on sale as I was considering quitting ballet at the time so we thought might as well not pay full price for pointe shoes and get the ones on sale at my local dance shop. I don't recommend doing this honestly I'd say get fitted with a pair that fits you well. Maybe capeizo has changed their pointe shoes since I had mine about (2012/2013) but honestly they were not for me.
I had capezio kylie which i loved and would reccommend it to any beginner to try, i then had saphires but found them uncomfortable. I'm now on gaynors and im never going back!!!!
Do you have any tips for recovering after u fall or mess up a step on pointe? I love how quickly you recovered. I sometimes get scared to try something on pointe again when I fall.
You kept 2? What happened to the other 2? Didn’t you get fitted in 4? I was looking forward to the Gaynor Minden ones 🙃😁 Are the Energetiks a softer shank? Because maybe that’s a possible factor why you can releve easier in them. They both look great on you btw
I’m kinda sad you didn’t also try the Gaynor Mindens. I guess because they’re so different, I’d have loved to see you try them out. That being said, the Energetiks definitely looked the best, made your feet look so pretty.
I love that you don't mind not being 'perfect.' It helps us realise that we can laugh at our mistakes too 💖
Glynis Wozniak 100%!!!!
I wonder how her regular Bloch shoes compare to these 😱😱😱
It would be interesting to see how some other brands compare too. You could do a bracket elimination with semi finals and finals rounds!
oh my goodness this is such a smart idea!!

I wear RP/ Energetics so I am proud of the results.
Why does Russian Pointe have such a different name in Australia 😆
Serena Schneider the Aussie name sounds cheap lol they should just be Russian Pointe everywhere 😂
Same in Europe, they're called 'R class' here
Nicole Laska 😂
@@Estertje93 that depends. I'm in the UK and the shop near me call it Russian Pointe.

The Energetiks look prettier too.
