Is correcto the locomotoves in front AND in the middle the couples(hooks)dont support all the traction effort
This train had a good deal of power!
Bananas with the energy 👍
I don't think that kind of train on my place unless it's a manifest or double stack then yeah
I can tell the engines are in dynamic braking. It sounds like he is using some light brake pressure
Sounds accurate! Thanks Michael
You need one more flycam for more good views from the air👈👍
Thank you I agree. Working on a few things. Not sure how legal it is to fly over a train either. I’d like to get one more camera that stationary and a drone possibly and keep my handheld. I appreciate the thoughts. Thanks for viewing
180 cars nice
Thanks Chip! Sounds on the money! I appreciate it!
Wow I counted 100 and didn't start at beginning
I appreciate the count and thanks for watching Danny!
32.000 Ton Coal Train 🚂 😉
That train sounded like the Engineer had applied a little Brake application and had the Dynamics on as well.
Thanks!!!
Great Video! Looked like a consolidated double train. Lots of good quality coal.
Hello Kid! It was a good one. I have another video of the same train at the Mormon rocks coming out today. Enjoy the one too! Have a good weekend friend!
Not sure it's two trains joined. Of the mid-train DPUs, the first three are all facing backwards, so if it was two trains joined into one, the second train would have either been led by a loco running long-hood forwards, or would have just had one loco on the front and two on the back. Neither of those is impossible, but neither is common.
Impressive!!!! Approximately how long?
Great question. These are usually just under 100 rail cars. Probably not more than a mile long. Thanks Dale
How are the number of required locomotives determined and their placement in the train. I appreciate you taking time to answer my questions. Love trains!!!!!!
It takes a car about two seconds to pass the camera, and the train takes about five minutes in total, so very approximately 150 cars. Somebody counted and said 180. Guesstimating 55ft per car gives about a mile and a half.
Number of locomotives is determined by the gradients the train must climb and descend, the weight of the train and the power and tractive effort of the available locomotives. Placement is chosen to reduce stress on the couplers.
