Thanks formthe tip on using a countdown from 20 to 1. I also feel the urge to reel my baits in a little too soon, especially if it gets pulled in closer to me by the wave. The countdown also aids in my use of meditation to clear the mind and enjoy the experience more.
Yes I like to wait until the taps get reallllly close together and your rod tip starts to bend over as you feel the weight of the fish. Then you set it
@@iamalemontree yes if you feel tap………tap-tap……………tap. Don’t set the hook. It’s still feeling the bait. Once that turns into a “Tap-Tap-Tap-Tap-Tap!” And your rod starts to bend over as you feel the weight of the fish. Set it! Sometimes it takes 30 seconds… other times it’s immediate. You’ll get a feel for it.

@@surffishinginsocal I love fish so I would probably eat them all haha or maybe the fish you catch in the surf zone isn't as tasty as restaurant fishes?
Nice spotfin Nick. The bars fade rather quickly but when I got my last one at San O I immediately noticed the distinct bars. So cool...
Very cool! Love all the little things about surf fishing.

I release most of the time but maybe a couple times a year I’ll keep either a hali, Corbina or Spotfin
