Hey guys! Its been months! Thanks for the patience! I always wanted to make a video like this for you guys for a long time. Super stoked to be able to share this fishing adventure with you guys! I hope you guys enjoy! : ) Rodney Marquez
My goodness what an amazing and FUN day. So grateful to be able to document these moments. And wth, I’m fishing with Rodney Marquez??!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Amazing edit as always Rodney and thank you for sharing the sand!
Benjie ! it was an awesome day. I was so glad we went mobile to find structure and see the end of the trough. It was a learning experience that I need :) thanks again !
Welcome back Rodney!! Great seeing you in good health and happy! Miss watching your vlogs but happy you're back and enjoying life with your family! May you continue to be blessed with love, family, health and happiness! God bless🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great to see you back. My best fish in the surf was a 5lb. yellow fin croaker at San Onofre in 1976. What? no 5 minutes later. Must have been so much action there was no need for it.
hahah John! I forgot to put in that part "5 min later" ! Next time for sure. 5 lb?! thats a giant! Ill try for yellowfin with ghost shrimp in a couple weeks :)
Love the video Rodney! Always so stoked on your level of stoke! My dad quit fishing when I was little and I kept on fishing throughout my childhood and into adulthood. While he was out visiting me here in SD recently, I took him out surf perch fishing at Silver Stand and he caught his first fish in 40 years. He was so stoked! I think he's "hooked" on fishing again.
So jealous ! I’ve been throwing strictly LC’s and a lot of skunks and lost lures and tears!!! Maybe I should lighten my presentation too just for a bite! Nice to see you 2 slaying together again! Hope to see you both out in the surf one of these days! 🤙🏼
Congrats on the great day.. I went out for the second time ever Sunday evening and popped my Surf 🍒 with a 4.5" BSP ...definitely gonna wear my waders next time to be able to fish for longer.. See ya on the sand
Nice surf action, I got relatives that live 15 minutes from that beach, when I visit I am brining my light tackle gear I use on Texoma. Hope you get back to making more shore videos, life gets busy with kids and wife, you can never get that time back, fishing will always be there.
It has been a while! Great to see you, Rodney. Planning a trip to see friends and family in SD this summer. Planning on doing some surf fishing myself. Great video! Thanks for posting and keep it up. Love your family, BTW! You never have to apologize for loving your babies and your wife, my friend who I have never met. lol.
I can remember when you introduced your girlfriend now wife in one of your videos...i want to say the trout farm in Oregon but i could be wrong...now look atcha ...2 kids...awesome dude. Welcome back.
thanks brotha! You are a long time sub! :) Life is treating me well. Working hard to keep it grinding :) Appreciate the positive vibes ! good luck fishing out there :D

@@RodneyMarquezFishingChannel I fish all over..I live down in IB so I hit anywhere from the IB pier to Encinitas and the lakes around SD. Hell yeah brotha dad priorities first. Haven’t been able to do much fishing lately or even catch anything up here since I’ve gotten stationed up in Redding, CA. But I’m trying 🤦🏽♂️
Rodney, hey brother I love the videos. I am here in SD also, but I do not catch fish like you do! could you give a hint where this spot is? Thanks again for the awesome videos brother!
I've been fishing for these ocean perch off the beach for over 50 years, This year I caught the biggest Perch I have ever Caught. Using a Zebco 33 caster reel and a $ 9.00 Walmart rod, sand crab for bait. San Clemente Calif.
Cool bother ...I just moved to Hemet, Ca 5months ago .I retired from the city of San Diego took up fishing and love it. 0:48 trust me man, family is more important than making videos for people you don’t really know that well, and just to make them entertained! Real moments like enjoying fishing are better than virtual entertainment… watching someone’s fun on a screen, I’d say for myself and everyone get off RUclips, go out and make these moments.
Totally I agree. Thats the real reason I have not been posting lately. I do like posting for documentation purposes and so that my kids will see that their dad went out and enjoyed the out doors :) thanks for watching Ethan!

Hey I love the content I'm a new viewer and new to fishing. I want to fish mainly surf. Can we do that anywhere here in Cali? Closest beach to me is Huntington. I'm new to all this any help will be appreciated 🙏 thank you
You probably could just go with a simple swivel instead of the snap. Other than that, you do what I do. I like a 3/4 or 1 oz egg, it's on braid, then a swivel and a 20" leader, with the green and brown sand worms.. even over sand fleas, the perch seem to prefer the plastic..
He probably did the same thing I did. Went to walmart looking for just swivels, saw "Barrel Swivel" on the package, and bought it. Didn't even know the snaps were connected to it
@wait what true, true. When I was a kid in Florida, we would use a similar rig to catch specks and snook, except, NO swivel, we would tie in a piece of yarn or even paper matches to stop the egg.
@ :35 in... I have the same situation. Tough to make videos raising a 4 year old daughter and being a husband. They don't always go with me.. that creates a choice they will always win.

Using a worm threader makes it easier to get those gulp sand worms on there and getting the hook closer to the tail.

Use egg sinker but feel it's been pushed back by wave quickly
