  • In this video, I’ll walk you through a day of surf fishing at Oceanside Beach in San Diego, California. This is one of the many videos I’ve done on the San Diego beaches series for Surf Fishing In So Cal.
In this video, I catch corbina, yellowfin croaker, and surfperch, although many more species can be caught.

    Reel: bassproshops.v...
All the tackle I use in my setup: surffishingsoc...

I grew up at the beach, mostly at Torrey Pines but I've been to Oceanside. I always spent all day in the water. I had no idea so many fish were so close to shore. I figured they all stayed away because of all the people in the water. I guess not. I never once saw or felt a fish.

Does not mean no fishing but better safe than sorry…
My go to is the area in front of the St. Malo houses… super juicy but hard to access so if you can get there 🍻
Been getting bit a ton in the light weight pre-rigged berkley swim baits, 1/4 ounce chartreuse is my favorite 🍻

@@timm7267 just not really needed for this type of surf fishing. Cheaper and as long as you’re good enough to keep tension mono works fine. I use braid for lures.
