  • Raging Bull is one of the best roller coasters ever built. This ride is easily the best coaster at Six Flags Great America, but there are also some people that majorly dislike this coaster. Why is this coaster so good, and why do some hate it? Find out in this video!

    It's gotta be the most underrated B&M hyper. It only has a twister layout in the last 1/4 of the ride, and there are 7 strong airtime moment: 1st drop: 2: drop off the 1st Camelback; 3: drop following wave turn, 4: drop off the MCBR; 5: drop off the following camelback; 6: drop into the twister section and finally 7: the last little drop before the last left had twist into the EBR. That's just in row 5, but back is obviously the best on this coaster. In fact: the airtime on this B&M hyper is better than most I've ridden so far! The only other B&M I like better that I've ridden so far are Behemoth, (in the back) Fury 325 (in the front) and in one month probably Diamondback as well, probably best in the back. It's also the best coaster in the park. Thanks for posting!

    Raging Bull is a standout B&M simply because of it's twister layout as mentioned, it's a fun coaster, but B&Ms started feeling very similar to one another years ago for me. This is a "problem" unique to coaster hobbyists since we ride many coasters of the same maker. I rode a few new-to-me B&M Hypers in 2023, Orion, Diamondback, Nitro, Raging Bull & Fury 325. Two surprises. 1.) Really enjoying Nitro _a lot!_ 2.) Liking Diamondback more than Orion. Riding these 5 B&Ms within days of each other emphasized to me how similar they all felt. Spinal Hiccup's passion for Raging Bull makes me want to return and really study that back seat a bunch of times! For a wood coaster guy like me, influencing me to want to return to a steel coaster is quite a feat!

    This coaster is part of the reason I wish B&M never abandoned the pre-drop on their hypers. That little extra speed you get when beginning the first drop after a pre-drop makes the airtime so much better, especially if the apex of the hill is tight

    • @me-myself-i787
      @me-myself-i787 Год назад

      Yeah. The pre-drop really helped with the Hypers.
      However, on B&M Inverts and Floorlesses without the pre-drop, the drop is much whippier. For example, everyone raves about the first drop on Banshee at Kings Island.

  • @scottwestphall
    @scottwestphall Год назад

    Towards the front still gives a lot of floater air time. Just doesn’t yank you down the drops as much. But my point is this is a good and balanced ride nearly anywhere on the ride in my experiences

    I just came back from SFGA yesterday and rode raging bull 3 times. The back row is definitely the best row. The airtime on this ride is insane, particularly during the first drop band the camelback, I was literally floating out of my seat going up the camelback until heading down, this ride is incredible and still my number 1 at the park after all these years.

    The trim on the airtime hill used to be an absolute killer for the rest of the layout, but they’ve almost completely turned it off this year and it makes a noticeable difference.

    ngl i think you got insanely lucky with your rides on raging bull. that drop is the only element worth returning to this coaster for and even then you have to be in the back row for it to be good. also that trim usually hits insanely hard, making the rest of the ride crawl

    Batman was the first inverting inverted rollercoaster. Arrow had made their inverted suspending coaster before, making them the first inverted coaster.

    • @spinalhiccup
      @spinalhiccup  Год назад

      Thats true, it might just be a me thing but I don't really think of suspended coasters as inverted coasters. Even though they technically are inverts, suspended coasters feel like their own breed of coaster.

    • @MattMcIrvin
      @MattMcIrvin Год назад +1

      I think enthusiasts usually categorize suspended coasters and inverts separately, even though some manufacturers use terminology that confuses the issue (e.g. Vekoma calling the "Suspended Looping Coaster" that when it's really an inverted looping coaster).
      The thing that blows my mind is that Arrow actually built a prototype for a suspended coaster with an inversion, though they never built one in production. Given the problems they did have with the early suspended models I can only imagine that such a thing would have destroyed itself before very long.

    • @nottrevorallen

      @@MattMcIrvin ironically if arrow built the corkscrew on the first suspended coaster, it would have been the only part of the track with proper banking, meaning it likely would have survived better

    So the only B&Ms I like are the early inverts and variants. Raging Bull isn't a bad ride, it's just okay like every other B&M I've ridden. I personally would take Batman over Raging Bull. The issue I have with them is they have a distinct rhythm (Speed up, slow down, element) or (Speed up, slow down element, turn, element). I know my opinion isn't popular and people love B&M coasters and that's totally cool! Getting back to Raging Bull, it has that same B&M rhythm with a bit of twister added to the end which isn't bad but not earth shattering.

    The airtime hill hypers always arr boring sfter the midcourse. Raging bull is not. The first drop is the absolute best, and the other bug turnarounds are disorienting. If that trim wasnt on the airtime hill, it would be a crowd favorite. Thus layout is also so prolific. Superman ride of steel was a twister and opened around the same time, but b and m always went with the out and back. Funny though, Fury and Orion borrow HEAVILY from raging bull’s menu of elements. Take a look. This ride was 20 years ahead of its time.
