In other words, it is perhaps the most off-road worthy Lexus in the automakers line-up. But is it fast and can it tow. We decided to find out in another accurate, fun and informative TFLcar towing test and review. So how fast is the 2014 Lexus LX570 from 0-60 MPH both with and without towing the TFL test boat. Let's face it. The Infiniti May be in the same segment as the LX570 but the Lexus is hands down a much much better vehicle. The build quality and fit and finish on the Lexus are superb. The LX is also better looking, is more comfortable and more capable.
I’ve been watching TFL for a couple years now. Seeing Andre grow to where he is now is truly amazing.

dear TFL car if you want to get a quick time you shift manually and put in sport mode.
And I wish this was an actual review, not just a tow test. I don't think many people care about how fast this car is 0-60.
These guys are idiots. They are so unintelligent that they can't do an actual review of a car. All they know is this stupid 0 to 60 mph. Don't take them too seriously.

I really like the GX, a true swiss-army knife that can also two and is amazing offroad.
This is hands down the Best big luxury SUV money can buy without the flash of the others. All the players have been updated tho all Lexus did to this was redesign the outside and update the inside. The next gen LX is sure to be a serious machine.

if you come to Qatar you will see LX570 almost in every house or land cruiser
I would love to see how the MB GL550 would compare in the 0-60/ 0-60 towing the boat. On paper it looks like a match-up rather than mash-up for towing capacity, seating capacity and price between Lexus and Mercedes. Would gladly lend you mine for the test if you can wait for me to win the lottery so I could afford the car.
2-3 seconds difference , com on guys were not talking about race track, this is just me towing my boat safely from home to the waterway thats it, beetween lexus and infinity, i pick lexus all day long )

I'm surprised you didn't say anything about air temp difference. That also plays a big factor. I'm pretty sure the LX has a tow/haul mode. Was that on? I'm not saying this is flawed, but this Infiniti was tested a while back. Different time of year, different air density due to temp, amount of fuel in the tank (weight related), etc. I'd still choose the Lexus over the infiniti. At least the Lexus doesn't look like a whale flopping for water in New York, lol.
Without doubt, the 2014 GS is THE BEST Lexus currently on sale.

Can someone tell me why the LX tows less than the Land Cruiser ? It seems underrated, or it's a mistake on the site/brochure because they have the exact same drivetrains.

Would be cool to see you's do the same towing test with the Toyota 200 Series LandCruiser with the 4.5L twin turbo V8 diesel accept I'm pretty sure you's don't get them in the US. 197kW & 650N.m.

The Ls is definitely the best.
LS is king in the lexus line up especially the next generation
230kw, 680nm 4.5ttd is the Australian landcruiser with Dp Chip, which seems so much better for this vehicle and with KDSS, plus lighter weight landcruisers seem to handle better while still achieving a 650mm TRI index, second to only the jeep rubicons 822mm TRi index

The IS350 is the best in their lineup, you can make a case for the LS though. Maybe the RX if you're main goal is driving to soccer practice. This LX is just Jabba's sail barge. Unless I can be in the back with a princess feeding me grapes I don't want it.
ls460 all the way. thrwo it on some coilovers nad uve got a beat. i own a 7 ls460 a 03 ls430 and a og 90 ls4. so might be a bit bais
that 0-60 time of over 9 seconds at that altitude seems so slow as the regular one does 7.8 seconds and my landcruiser with the 4.7(202)kw v8 does the 0-62 in 8.6, the funny thing is when new our engine was almost slow and after it was run in was so much more free reving and faster, maybe the runnign in period along with the altitude this is the case
Do you even change the ECT to "power" before testing? Duh.
They say turn on sport mode, im not even sure it available. Ect power button will keep the transmission very agressive like track mode.

I'm extremely surprised that Lexus still makes the LX570, I figured that sooner or later they would remove it from the lineup and then reintroduce it in a couple of years.
Well, the LX570 is their only major Off-road SUV. The only alternative is the smaller GX460, and that, while it's not bad, just isn't in the same category. [Though I do wish the GX had the 5.7 litre V8. Would make for a monster of a vehicle :P]. So yeah, they'd face problems raking in a decent income at the end of the year if the LX wasn't in the line up. And there's nothing keeping them from working on a major update on a vehicle while still keeping the current one in the line-up. I'm willing to bet the 2016 model will be a rather considerable improvement. Especially now that people are pointing out the Infiniti's superiority performance-wise. Nissan, their main competitor, upgraded their Patrol and QX80 after the first iteration of the Land Cruiser and LX570 hit the markets. Toyota and Lexus didn't do anything aside from cosmetic improvements and a few minor technical tweaks with the 2013 facelift of both vehicles, so I think it's fair to say that they're planning a larger update further down the line. 2016 seems like a reasonable guess as to when we'll see it.

The LX570 is the "nicest" Vehicle that could tackle Africa, Australia, South America, and American's Shopping Malls! Its like a Range Rover with far better reliability!

Eww the RX is FWD and has as much personality as white bread on a styrofoam plate. Both the LX and LS are the best (LFA is, but for the real world) vehicles Lexus makes. I prefer the LX personally. Excellent review guys!
because a car is FWD its ew? The RX is a very stylish SUV with a look all its own and stands out in a crowd not to mention its the best all rounder in its class. Thats way it sales the top in it class.
Nissan should put the Cummins ISV in the Armada, Patrol, and QX80.

Huh? wha?....fast forward to 2023...I can't find any 2014 QX60's for sale and 2016 and 17s are selling for 18 grand. I'm about to buy a 2015 LX570 for fmv at $46,000.... Higher mileage ones with 135-140k miles still selling for $30 ish....
Very expensive, but very capable SUV. It does need a complete refresh as it's now at least a generation behind the new land rovers, Infiniti qx, the 2015 escalade. Its better off road, but let's face it most buyers in this category will never take it off road.
QX can't do much off road.

Not very impressive. Why dose everyone complain when an American SUV has a solid axle. However just because this happens to be a Lexus it is acceptable. The platform should come from the Toyota Sequoia it has an independent in the rear. Plus it is bigger, which would provided better third row seating and space.
So its slower, older design, and thirstier and smaller gas tank. IT cost almost $20k MORE than the Infiniti Mmm wise choice difference

rx and es are the best selling cars in lexus categories. alot of people go for Benz GL450 than Lexus LX.
Benz are nightmare electrical and mechanical repair , reliability , resale value suck. It will not tow well either. The Turbo engine is enough power but i think the air suspension is holding back.

GS450h is my selection. Otherwise I would buy a Toyota Land cruiser v8 diesel. Tourqe is what you need when towing. But one thing I dont like on this LX or Land cruiser: too small seats. I know asians are smaller, but for the other world they could provide a BIGGER seats!

Yeah, you can get a loaded Platinum Sequoia for $65K and I think is better than the new Land Cruiser. I seriously haven't seen a new land cruiser on the road once. No one is going to buy an $80K base price Toyota SUV...

The GX I believe is the "land cruiser prado" and this LX is the full size land cruiser.

MrNicholg From my quick googling I believe you are right that the Infiniti is the same truck as the Patrol. I guess here in the states when they put the big 22" wheels and such on the Infiniti, It doesn't look like it would ever be very good off road. I am not sure if the Infiniti has a low range box like the LX does.
Lexus GS is definitely the best, IS would be second.
