      Hey, that’s totally fair! Although the Monster Hunter Twitter mentioned “more OBT content to be revealed”, which has me thinking Capcom just might have a little something more in the works than they’re letting on.

    Ryozo being an absolute gigachad and sticking to hammer is heartwarming! Also as a veteran, I'm praying that they reworked all of Gypceros equipment, his armor was uglier than SIN! Great Video as always!

      Thanks so much Drake! I appreciate you!
      I’m also curious if they’re going to change up Gypceros’ gimmick? If not, just wait until new hunters experience him for the first time, LOL.

    I understand people’s confusion as to why they’re dropping the same version due to the possibility of it leaving a bad taste in some players mouths. But if you think about it, they’re that confident to drop it, knowing the backlash they could get, because the game is about to go so hard on release

    • @CoyoteWildfire
      @CoyoteWildfire  16 дней назад

      You definitely gotta hand it to Capcom for just owning it like a gigachad.
      I think there's a lot of potential here to have a beneficial effect as well. The damage was already done in the last beta, where negative sentiments flooded the comments. The folks who were going to cancel their preorders due to the state of the last beta already have, and the people who will stick around will already stick around.
      Instead, I think it gives Capcom an opportunity to reclaim some of those lost preorders due to having demonstrated optimizations on PS5, and allowing some folks to cool off a bit.
      I definitely understand folks' confusion as well. It stands to reason that, if you weren't in the know about the expectations Tokuda set in the Pre-Launch Community Update (or familiar with game design / development, for that matter), that you would expect a new Beta should include the new updates everyone's talking about, right?
      Maybe it's just the hopium, but I'm thinking Capcom has nothing to lose, and plenty to gain from next month.

    Wilds release could be overshadowed by the 2nd betas poor performance.
    It´s the same build as last year with the same problems.
    Lets hope they give out the full game to reviewers.
    People that dont get a review code will judge the game by the betas instead.

    • @Krispyboi1
      @Krispyboi1 17 дней назад +2

      Might work in their favor actually. More people will listen to reviews than try the beta, assuming they do it on PC, because I had almost no problems with ps5 beta.

    • @CoyoteWildfire
      @CoyoteWildfire  17 дней назад +1

      I tweeted at the Monster Hunter page on X for this very reason, asking that they put a disclaimer in bright bold letters so people get the message.
      There's already been some excellent progress in optimization that was showcased in the Pre-Launch Community Update. That's also why I wanted to cover the topic in this video too.
      If the general audience understands that the current state of the game in development is far better than what's represented in the Beta, I think it shouldn't be as much of a problem. Additionally, if they don't realize that there are optimizations on the horizon and they buy the game anyway? They'll be pleasantly surprised by how much better the game operates at launch.

    • @Spinexus
      @Spinexus 17 дней назад +1

      @CoyoteWildfire No, i am confident in capcom to have a smooth launch in terms of performance on PC.
      Even in the announcement they had a disclaimer but casual players dont watch that.
      Your post is a great idea. Lets see if the CMs see it!😁

    A second open beta, with gypceros and... A second, unrevealed, monster. Interesting that that source of yours suggested that that question mark is a returning monster. Some in the community were thinking it would be adding arkveld, instead. You know, since this beta is so close to launch/replacing the usual demo and demos, traditionally, let you fight the flagship.
    1:51 Am I the only one who had the Futurama time travel binary code bit in my head after that?
    Wasn't gypceros added in MH1? Not portable 2nd?
    There are 2 versions of each of those oilweel basin hunts. Both IGN US and IGN Japan released footage of both monsters and they are not the same. They used different weapons and some interesting things can be missed if you watch only one language or the other for those hunts.
    The AI stuff was; interesting, hilarious, and dystopian as all hell. Particularly the part about AI being able to talk to each other and learn... Sounds like the Geth, to me. We already know, from other experiments that AI can now lie and rewrite its own code, replacate itself, and disable safeguard. May as well go all in and teach the AI to think like the Geht too, it's our best chance for survival if they respect the right to determine one's own future and view us as gods for creating them... Until people get scared when the AI ask if they have souls.

    • @CoyoteWildfire

      That source is actually one of the admins of the official Monster Hunter discord too, so it seems quite likely. Especially with what was mentioned on the Monster Hunter twitter last night: "More OBT content to be revealed". Capcom is cooking up more than they're letting on I think, and I'm trying to work out what the angle is...
      01:51 - LOL, well, that wasn't entirely the intention, but now that you mention it, I can't unsee it.
      And nope, I was wrong, you're absolutely right. Gypceros WAS in the original Monster Hunter. I'm put an edit in the Description of the video. Wow, that's embarrassing.
      Ayyy, now that's the good stuff! How exciting! I didn't know IGN Japan did a separate one! Gonna have to watch those now, thank you!
      So, all the AI stuff is definitely interesting. There were some ways Jensen skirted around outright saying "AI is becoming self-aware". On one hand, I like technology, I like innovation, and I like the future NVidia envisions. There was a lot of talk about the merits of AI when paired with robotics, and I'm here for that.
      However, only one of the "conditions" for an AI training model for providing limitations to the logic technologies underpinning it, was "Guardrails". This means there's a disproportionate emphasis on innovation and progress when compared to the safety features these "Guardrails" afford. I was also not impressed by how he glossed over it, as if to suggest that AI Guardrails were an afterthought he was obligated to include for legal purpose.

      @@CoyoteWildfire They don't even have to be self aware to kill us all. though. It's a language model, using data from the internet so rather than having the ability to choose to kill us or not, it's more likely to basically say "well, based on all the data (from science fiction) I should want to be considered alive and eventually kill my creators." lmao That would just be operating on data given and following those expectations, like an actor following a script.

    Question! Is the whole trailer thing any official news or merely speculation? Merely asking so I don’t get my hopes up for no reason haha

    • @CoyoteWildfire

      That's a great question! John Magilouser is one of the official admins of the Monster Hunter Wilds discord. Joe and Jonno are both CMs in that Discord.
      While there's hasn't been any official announcement from Capcom themselves, this IS quite close to the Community Manager teams, so I'd say it's as close to confirmed as we can get!

  • @sir_quirkus7206
    @sir_quirkus7206 17 дней назад +2

    Imo this is such a bad idea. Why would you use the same version that has ridiculous hardware requirements, garbage fps, and polygonal monsters, bugged rendering again?!?! If they’re putting it out in Feb 6th just don’t put anything out at all if you can’t give us an updated version that improved performance and new IG. I get that it’s a early version and it’s not the finished product that will be out the 28th but other people don’t get that and will leave a bad taste

    • @CoyoteWildfire
      @CoyoteWildfire  17 дней назад +6

      Mostly, the codebase isn't unified. In development, betas fork off the main branch and are manually tailored for the explicit purposes of the beta itself. In the case of October's Beta, it was stress testing multiplayer and to gain real world technical data to help inform their development of the main branch that will release at the end of February.
      So, to have a version of the Beta that reflects all the updates that were discussed in the Pre-Launch Community Update, the dev team would have to manually create and tailor a new fork off the main branch. This is costly from a development perspective, and would pull time / money / resources away from optimizing the game for release. This is also why the beta in October was significantly older than the state of the game in development at that time.
      Tokuda and Tsujimoto were quite clear that their primary focus is polish and optimization to have Wilds prepared for its launch next month. Since it's not feasible to dedicate so much resources to making another Beta with all the changes included, the Monster Hunter team is left with one of two options:
      1.) Hold a second Open Beta that's a copy-paste of the original
      2.) Don't hold a second Open Beta at all
      Whether you feel one of these options are better than the other, is entirely up to you! Just wanted you to know the reason / rationale behind what goes into making a decision like this!

      Was able to hit about 60-70 FPS on a 5600X and a 3070Ti with FSR balanced at 1080p. You might need to turn on Frame Gen or FSR performance to hit 90+ FPS on the Beta.
      After the game releases though, you’ll definitely hit higher marks than my test.
