Have seen both the bands live but apart from each other, around 2011 Blackberry Smoke and last year The Allman Betts Band in Amsterdam, both bands were indeed great live.

Do we really need any other reasons?!?! Obviously I say this all in good fun, but it would be cool for a southern rock super group of BBS and Allman-Betts Band. So that would be 3guitars, bass, keys, two drummers, and two female backing vocals for BBS then ABB would bring another bassist, and Duane and Devon on guitar. So a grand total 5 guitars, 2 bassist, two drummers, 1keys, maybe even add one more backing vox to 3. 13 members in total! First off I’m a huge Dicky Betts fan but he was never known for being a super hot guitar picker. Better known for his song writing which is top notch! To say Duane is just riding the coat tails of his dad is a completely ignorant uninformed statement. That’s your opinion so nothing personal toward you. Duane is a very well known and super respected guitarist in the music world. The fact that he is still using his dads 57 Gold Top through a Marshall Plexi half stack is a testament in and of itself that he knows tone and can create that southern rock sound. And if anyone has gained success because of their family name it’s certainly not Duane Betts. A lot of old school fans and players of southern rock had never even heard him before until I had introduced them. And these are guys who are with it and keep up on newer cool music. And how he so fluently played off Charlie Starr (one of the greatest alive and will be remembered as one of the greatest southern rock guitarist ever) you could see them jivin’ and dig’n on each other’s licks. That doesn’t happen if you’re not a great guitarist! But hey it’s your opinion, it’s fucking terrible and un factual but hey it’s yours none the less!!
