You chaps are bloody good drivers, as are most logging truckers. I reckon the cops must've held back the up-traffic for a while to give you a clear run down. Or, so that no other motorist would be sent to heaven if your brakes went visiting elsewhere! A pity we couldn't have stayed with the trip until the logs were delivered to the mill. The view from a truck cab is far more interesting than from a car.
Reminds of the roads I drive everyday. Tauwhareparae rd from Tolaga Bay inwards for 44 km, or the Mata Rd up Tokomaru ways goes in for 35 Km then onto Waitaheia for another 8 then Fosters for 3, Chaffeys for 4 then your there. Yep This is NZ logging at its best , East Coast NZ has got some hair raising roads.
God !... Hope this is a one way road !!!... Great job, really. Although I hate the log industry corporates that is rapidly killing our world. But these guys are workers and they do know their job ! ... It's craftsmanshi. I understand why they love it.
I've been stuck on some narrow roads like that before. Except mine was busy as hell with numerous switchbacks. Had to get my buddy to get our and walk up the road to stop traffic on the blind turns for me.
Yikesmy vertigois acting up now! I used to help a mate out and drive the White 2000 up to the dump and he would sleep ( lazy bugger) then we'd bring blue gum and tallowwood down the mountain...those were good days!
wow very impresive, the road is very dangerous and many ugly turns but we can see professional drivers behind the wheels. I wont take this road; because I certainly end up on one of these trees.
I,m sorry my english is bad ,foxpine, very good videos and photos.your video "carting logs" with a B.S.O. from AC-DC ,You Shook Me All Night Long , is good...
Christ those roads are narrow. For a mo' I thought they were pocket roadtrains like they have in West Australia but around the corners I can see they're truck and dogs. Don't fall off the edge mate!
i assumed you where from new zealand when i saw the 4 axle trailer and the 8X4 truck, i think i've seen those black trucks driving around where i live lol.
I think That's upper ball rd ,heading down to the Patea dam,I work these rds for Fulton hogan, not a bad road ,just sucks when you coming other way and catch a truck on the corner lol
Passing opportunities going begging at 0:38, 0:48 and 1:23 (through the dirt) and again at 4:00. Nothing like the ass-end of a logging truck to make you homesick for NZ
are those trucks 600 hp engines?.also are the engine brakes two stage ,low and high?..thnx great roads challenging, remainds me my country in southamerica...great video
Roads that narrow are not located in the states, not even our abandoned gravel roads for the 1950's climbing from sea level to 7,000 feet are that narrow! what country are you in?
Why isd it that when I cross the centre line by 5 cm on my bike, I'm fined and three points deducted... but I suppose I don't operate under government protection... I just get to be the sucker killed by vehicles on the wrong side of the road and the crap that falls off the back of trucks.
DUDE....love U'r Video....nice big logs....good 2 kill the big trees first....let the little one grow up,and it doesn't take so many 2 make a load....remember this, there is nothing more beautiful than a fresh clear cut....I hate trees....the only good tree is a stump....MAX SAID THAT....I used 2 be a log trucker till spotted owls put me out of business in 1993

Hey great vid. If ya not a fan of the jake brake ....you soon will be after this one ..great sounds
"Carting logs?" That sounds like a typical British term. As an American, I prefer to say "hauling logs on log trucks."
God !...
Hope this is a one way road !!!...
Great job, really.
Although I hate the log industry corporates that is rapidly killing our world.
