Janab Faisal your guest stated that the people of AJK are like Punjabis..That is because they ARE Punjabi's. The poeple of AJK linguistically, culturally, and ethnically share links with the Doab region of upper Punjab. They are termed 'Pahari' and speak a dialect of Punjabi. Their castes are reflective of this; Rajput, Gujjar, Jatt - these are all Punjabi castes predominantly. A more accurate geographical term would be 'Punjabi, Pahari Jammu-ites'.
Historically Kashmir has been a very small part of J&K state. The Kashmir valley which is where the term Kashmir comes from, and which is in IAK has the ethnic Kashmiri who speak a Dardic language. They have no ethnic or cultural affiliation with the people of AJK. Offcourse, there are ethnic Kashmiri who speak the Dardic language scattered in AJK and GB but these are only 5%.
