Funny timing, about a week ago I rediscovered the soundtrack to this game and against all odds it’s kind of amazing. 12 tracks and they managed to cover such a breadth of genres.

THIS FUCKING GAME. Me and a childhood friend of mine would play this (and SvR 2007) all day. We had so much fun. Still remember us 2 playing as Woody and Buzz, in Olliewood, while "Spinnin Around" by Jump5 was playing in the background... and I'd always kick his ass. LOVE IT SO MUCH.
this is the game that got me into the tony hawk franchise, I remember playing it at a mcdonalds kiosk, and then renting it at a movie rental place for a weekend after that. Then eventually buying it, and checking out other skateboarding games aka the tony hawk franchise.
I remember seeing this when I was younger and legit thought it was just a mod for THPS4, given how the menus and part of the UI are just ripped straight from it

I've 100% completed Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure, and it was surprisingly a functional and really good game. I had a friend who reviewed this game before you did, but his video is not there anymore, so it's great you got to review it and have your say on it. Keep it up mate. 👍
Great timing, just managed to catch up watching the other Disney Skateboarding vids so I know from the get go, this'll end strongly. Just wish Caddy could've covered these in greater detail just like you despite his new style of reviewing games nowadays.

Less than a minute in and that's a whopper detail I had no idea about... that this game ran on the *actual* THPS engine?! A cool bit of info... even if the end result is kinda meh.
The game might lack in trick number, but the whole game make it up with attention care and personality, every character got their unique move and animation (bailing, getting back up, idle animation, stance etc.), and a different interface depending of the movie, and the level are mostly good, it's a shame that only the kids can go in every level ( and the create a skater has a lot of option and item too), but other than that it's good as it plays and feel like a Tony Hawk's game. Also when I first played that game it was without sound as it was in a restaurant, so when I finally own that game, I was pleasantly surprise to hear a real life soundtrack (that is quite good, there is only two song that I personally think that it doesn't fit at all) as I thought it would have been Disney stuff

fun fact, the hollywood level with the nokia and McDonalds ads is actually a super modified version of college from thps4, they didn’t make the level from scratch, so that parking garage isn’t just a copy and paste it literally is the college car park lol
Kinda had a feeling this would be the skateboarding game to end off Hawktober 2021, shame you're only doing 4 videos this year though, how come? (Probably explained in the first episode of Hawktober, but wasn't paying attention) ☹ But yeah I've heard great things about Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure and it plays a lot like Pro Skater 3 and 4, due to having the same game engine.
If I had to guess, it's because of Jak's home situation, since he had moved out for a year, ended up having to move back home, and had to move out somewhere else, it could be just simple videos until Jak can get a place to rent again.
Activison must’ve gotten a lotta money from McDonalds in 2003 between this game and Underground 1. It’s just a little bit disturbing. Greatly enjoyed this year’s videos. Can’t wait to see what in the skating world you tackle next year.

I mean when you really think about it, there are so many Disney movies with really interesting universes with stand out characters that they could have really gotten creative with the level designs. I'm currently playing through this game. The levels kinda suck imo. It would have been awesome to see some nightmare before Christmas stuff. The sound track has a couple great songs but other than that the sound track pierces your ears.
My Mom and I had gone into this video store in the evening on Christmas Eve. I was maybe 8 or 9. I wandered straight to the game section they had this new game out and I played it and instantly fell in love. I had never heard of the game before and I didn’t know the name of it but I begged my mom for it and told her I had to have this game for Christmas no matter what and it was my priority to have this game and nothing else. But she told me it was too late to ask for more gifts. I went to bed dejected that night. Sure enough the next day it was under the tree. It was the happiest Christmas of my life. If I hadn’t played that game for 5 minutes on Christmas Eve then I wouldn’t have had a childhood full of fun memories with this game.

Yes, you most definitely need to play Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue. I have so much nostalgia for that game, but it’s actually a legitimately good 3D platformer. I know the ps1 version is most popular, but personally I recommend the pc version if you can get it to run on you computer because the sound and graphics are better in that version and it’s the one I played as a kid. Anyways, great video as always, Jak!

I’m actually shocked the controls worked for you. I have this for GameCube, and I decided to pick it up again after finding “Andy’s Room” in THPS1+2, to see how it held up. Before the remaster was released I played through THUG 1 and 2 and THAW, so I KNOW what buttons are what with it in my recent muscle memory. I hop in, select woody, Andy’s room… and literally every trick button did whatever the fuck it wanted! X, Y, and B all did Grind, grab, and flipping. Accompany that with how heavy it felt and I just put the game away, sad and pissed off.
Oh yeah so you didn't turn on pro controls in the menu. If you don't turn on pro controls in the menu then the game turns into a game for babies lol. Then the controls you know from the TH games will work.
The various worlds of Disney movies do open up a lot of possibility for creative level design for a skateboarding game, but here, it is somewhat inconsistent. But it would be cool if every character could play in any level, imagine the character specific objectives of Woody doing something at Pride Rock, unfortunately, that's not the case here. Oh, and, fun fact: Extreme Skate Adventure is one of the few Xbox games that is capable of 720p output.
Nice video dude, I think a Disney skateboarding game could be really rad if it leant more into being authentically Disney and less Punk. Off the top of my head Whinnie the Pooh, 101 Dalmations and Lilo and Stitch would fit in perfectly. And Hercules a syou said, not to mention like a big hero 6 san fran sokyo level
Well done on Hawktober this year, man! I did think of an idea for a Hawktober video next year. It'd be an interesting sort of mini video to take a look at skateboarding modes in other games, like MGS2 or Lost Judgement. I say mini video because I have no idea how many sustainable skateboarding modes there are out there in other games lol

I Could Imagine A Disney Extreme Skate Adventure 2 With Characters Such as Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde From Zootopia Ralph & Vanellope from Wreck It Ralph Anne From Amphibia Luz from Owl House Luca & Alberto and of Course Dash & Violet from the Incredibles Shredding Through their World, and it Would run on the Same Engine as Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2.
Finally! Someone who doesn’t think a 5 (or 50) is not an abysmal score! Why do most people say half of 100 or 10 is a terrible score? It really gets on my nerves. (I can imagine you scoring a game with a 10/10 with a fireworks effect associated with that, have you done that)
2:23 Actually Tarzan makes the MOST sense for being picked a skateboard rep Mostly because behind the scenes studies skate parks and the skaters themselves to emulate the manner Tarzan travels in the Disney movie: Vine Surfing. Still baffled they got Lion king in but hey skateboarding shouldn’t gatekeep the quadrupeds from showing their moves.
I remember owning this game as a kid. It was an okay game, but I remember hating the Toys for Bob intro every time I started this game up on my GameCube. Admittedly, I still do.

It run at 720p because THPS4 also Run in 720p on Xbox due to having the Same Engine as that game.

I did think of an idea for a Hawktober video next year. It'd be an interesting sort of mini video to take a look at skateboarding modes in other games, like MGS2 or Lost Judgement. I say mini video because I have no idea how many sustainable skateboarding modes there are out there in other games lol

I Could Imagine A Disney Extreme Skate Adventure 2 With Characters Such as Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde From Zootopia Ralph & Vanellope from Wreck It Ralph Anne From Amphibia Luz from Owl House Luca & Alberto and of Course Dash & Violet from the Incredibles Shredding Through their World, and it Would run on the Same Engine as Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2.

Finally! Someone who doesn’t think a 5 (or 50) is not an abysmal score! Why do most people say half of 100 or 10 is a terrible score? It really gets on my nerves. (I can imagine you scoring a game with a 10/10 with a fireworks effect associated with that, have you done that)
Might not be skate 3 but this game is amazing for what it was and I grew up playing this too but on the game cube

Actually Tarzan makes the MOST sense for being picked a skateboard rep
Mostly because behind the scenes studies skate parks and the skaters themselves to emulate the manner Tarzan travels in the Disney movie: Vine Surfing.
Still baffled they got Lion king in but hey skateboarding shouldn’t gatekeep the quadrupeds from showing their moves.
And Glen Keane, who was the supervising animator for the title character in Tarzan, got the inspiration from his son's skateboarding and snowboarding.
I remember owning this game as a kid.
It was an okay game, but I remember hating the Toys for Bob intro every time I started this game up on my GameCube.
Admittedly, I still do.
Nah the burping TFB logo is a classic!
