Don’t know why some people are surprised at Oswald detaching his ears/limbs. Not just toon force/cartoon physics but, isn’t that kinda his thing?

These dorks make such a good comedy duo 😫 DISNEY COULD HONESTLY REUSE THEIR IDEA FOR "THE STOOGE," BUT REPLACE ROGER WITH OSWALD! THEN BOOM! INSTANT DISNEY CLASSIC.
Oswald removing his limbs is reminiscent of his old cartoons, he does it all the time.

If Mickey is the one without heart then why is Oswald able to lose his limbs. Can any Epick Mickey experts explain that part?

I think its just referencing how oswald did that in his cartoons idk
It may be because it’s one of the gags in rubberhose animation. The gag is the character doing cool or crazy things by removing or losing their limbs. We see this is the Epic Mickey 2 as well! Oswald can throw his foot and hit things. He also has an idle animation where he takes it off and kisses it like a lucky rabbits foot. If I’m wrong let me know. I hope this helps!
Well, this short clearly shows that toons are immortal or invincible in the Epic Mickey universe - apart from being thinned out of existence.
Mickey in these clips… ends up mangling his body in a weightlifting machine, gets slammed into the wall by Oswald hitting the punching bag, run over on the treadmill MULTIPLE TIMES, flung around the room afterwards, and his only response is to collapse unconscious.
