    It's details like these is what makes me love this game. The devs must have really loved Mickey Mouse to go to this much detail with his past.

      Yeah, they were allowed unlimited access to the Disney Archives when making Epic Mickey, and Warren Spector's a huge Disney buff, so it's cool to see they went the extra mile.

    Just a random theory I had:
    I'm going to guess that the reason there's a can of Snow White branded snow spray in a primarily Mickey themed area, is because Mickeyjunk Mountain is actually Wasteland's version of Disneyland's Matterhorn ride, just covered in, well, Mickey junk. The real life Matterhorn is themed as a snow covered mountain, so Oswald might have used the can of Snow White Snow Spray Bomb to add all of the snow to his version of the ride.

    One of the best maps in the game it’s so cool to see old Mickey merch everywhere around the map Junction Point really did a good job making it feel so mysterious and unique and it all actually existed at some point and the music slaps 🎶

    I theorize that the Real World is the world that we see in Who Framed Roger Rabbit is the same in Epic Mickey. It's a separate realm, but can be accessed via a portal like the tunnel Eddie drove through. At some point, understandably so after the Judge Doom incident, Toons took a more separate role than filming on set and opted to just make their cartoons from their actual experiences.
    An interview with Warren Spector in Nintendo Power #277 states that Toons in the Cartoon World are not aware that they are in a cartoon and whatever is shipped to us in the real world for us to view is without their knowledge. However, this contradicts a crucial plot-point in Epic Mickey 1 where Mickey is not only aware of his fame in the real world, but revels in it in the intro. He also doesn't seem surprised at all at the concept of being a cartoon star, and what's more, recognizes the Walt statue in Disneyland. So, how do we solve this contradiction?
    I think Warren might have been referring to one-shot toons that show up in Power of Illusion like Beast, Rapunzel and Aladdin. All of their experiences are real to them and not just the plot of a film. Reoccurring toons that work in comedic series like Mickey and Oswald are self-aware because they were company stars and needed to be able to work alongside directors and such. So, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy etc. are self-aware, but Disney film characters are given the Truman Show treatment and live separately from humans because they fear another Judge Doom.
    In other Mickey projects like House of Mouse, Fantasmic, and Mickey Mouse (2013), the villains are just as malicious outside of their film roles as they are in their respective stories. Especially the likes of Jafar. So I wouldn't say that they are wrong for doing this. Anyways, that's just my theory.

      I have a feeling Epic Mickey 2 would be dumped into that alongside the original Wii version. (Along with the Disney Infinity figurines and other stuff that has largely been forgotten over the years by Disney themselves; Imagine parts of the crane at the beginning of Mickeyjunk being modeled off of Wii cases.)

    2:16 Why would they need to remove the Nintendo branding? Epic Mickey was a Nintendo exclusive 🤔

    • @AnimationsDownUnder
      @AnimationsDownUnder  5 месяцев назад +3

      The game itself wasn't made by Nintendo, so maybe that's why? I'm not entirely sure tbh.
      EDIT: They also removed the brand off of a box of shoe polish, so they probably just removed any non-Disney branding so they wouldn't get in legal trouble.

      It's never really been explained, though 2010 was sort of the turning point in the world of copyright where it started to become far more limiting in video games. Also doesn't help that 2010 was still right in the era of Nintendo being stubborn as to their IP's and branding outside of their own games.

    1:53 That Mickey phone made a cameo in "A Goofy Movie;" Max had one in his bedroom! XP
    3:33 I also own newer versions of the wristwatch
    5:17 If you plan on doing a future EM video, maybe a "Details You Missed" or "Things You Might Not Know," you could jump on one of those giant plushies, and hear their decaying voice boxes (a detail that was sadly omitted in Rebrushed)

      @@AnimationsDownUnderis that plush an original 1930s item?? If so how much did you buy it? Just curious

    • @AnimationsDownUnder
      @AnimationsDownUnder  5 месяцев назад +2

      @CartoonAnimatorDude To my knowledge it is, the antique store I got it from had it as a 1930s Mickey plush. I got it for $140 in Australian dollars, which I think is great deal if it's actually from the 30s

      @JaxCoolKartunes 5 месяцев назад +2

      Also I do have a Old Mickey Plush possibly from the 1950s to 1960s maybe due to using a design of Mickey used in those decades and also that Mickey Mouse clock. I don't know how I got those but I also had a plush of Baby Mickey.

    does epic mickey take place in the year 1990, and its sequel 1991?

    • @AnimationsDownUnder
      @AnimationsDownUnder  Месяц назад +3

      I don't think the games give a specific time, but I think they probably take place close the the year the game was released. Power Of Illusion has Disney characters from Tangled, which means it takes place after 2010.

      @AnimationsDownUnder true in epic mickey, the calendar shows pictures of other mickey mouse cartoons, and the last picture is a scene from Prince and the pauper, which came out in 1990,
      and in November
