Firion Salamand The switch came out in 2017. Skyrim came out in 2011. This isn't exactly a fair comparison because the even the wii u wasn't out in 2011 and the wii couldn't run it.

Today is Thursday, September 13th and I saw this while scrolling through my recommendations and I almost shat my pants because I thought that this was the new one.

I wasn't expecting Doom and Wolfenstein II, wowie. I hope they run ok.
And L.A. Noire omg November is gonna be lit.
Jason Doom will run fine since it looks noticeably worse on the switch. Still excited for it tho. As much hate as Bethesda gets right now, Im buying all their stuff on Switch to support a 3rd party company that actually supports the Switch. (Plus I love Skyrim and Doom. And Wolfenstein 2 looks amazing)
The Switch supports Vulkan, which is probably the reason why Bethesda is so eager to port to it. It's apparently a breeze to recompile for, and the low overhead should help with overall performance. Nintendo's finally unfucked themselves.
As long as those abominable amiibos aren't present in any way, shape or form, I'll be happy to see Bethesda and Rockstar (or any other developer) games running on the Switch.

The reason why I said that is because the Wii U never had that many good concepts for games compared to some of what the Switch is getting now
the concepts werent the problem, it was the 3rd party support was NON existent because the technology was too difficult to port games with

For example, why didn't we get something as promising as a collection of classic Mario Party mini-games when we got Mario Party 10, which ended up being disliked by fans? Where was all the devotion for Metroid last year on its' 30th anniversary?
The problem isn't the Wii U it is Nintendo the switch is lacking third party support as well most Nintendo games are being released on 3ds over the switch it was the same thing with the Wii U as well.

I kinda teared up when I saw project Octopath Traveller. It's nostalgic, yet different. The combination of 2D sprite and 3D environment reminded me so much of the Trails in The Sky games, yet the camera angle and atmosphere is so unique and brimming with charm. I REALLY want this thing to be good. Make JRPG great again!

I honestly have zero clue how anyone is disappointed. My bar was pretty low for this direct and there was some pretty cool things announce for this direct imo(like Doom. That caught me off guard). All the games looked solid too. Hyped for a lot of these games. I mean nothing was earth shattering but I'm not going to complain. I wasn't expecting things like that
+Juckle I mean because last years e3 was just one game pretty much, the nindies presentation wasn't anything special, this years e3 was all recap information and nothing really new, and this direct was disappointing. People are setting standards high because they want things that Nintendo isn't delivering, Nintendo has been disappointing us for a while except Zelda and splatoon 2 in a way. All I wanted was one Leaf or one smash ball to at least know I had something to look forward to in 2018 not just them spending 15 minutes on xenoblade.
Juckle Literally my only issues were the Xenoblade 2 and Project Octopath segments being dragged on WAY too long.
Juckle People set unrealistic expectations with every Nintendo Direct. "ANIMAL CROSSING, F-ZERO, AND SMASH ALL IN ONE DIRECT BABYYY" Then, when they don't get their fantasies, they say "meh 5/10". We all want these games, but they always complain when they don't get what they want. The Switch is getting great support so far, and I have hope that they'll make some good first party titles as well, but it never seems to be enough for some people.
PugTheTitan Dude, the games they've been revealing are fantastic. Give them games to give people content through 2020 (or way longer depending on how long the Switch stays in action).

Wellit has no real third party support, glad that some nintendo players will experience doom.. kinda cause compared to the ps4 or pc version it's the low setting version.

+Nohiro There is no standard PC version, the PC version is based on the power of your rig, so if you have a low end rig your version will look like the Switch's or worse. People act as if every PC out there is the same like it is with the PS4, Xbox One or Switch Consoles. A PC is only as good as the money you put into it, I've but almost two grand in mine so I can play games on Ultra but most PC only players don't have super high end rigs.
