Exquisite. I realize now that I've seen some of his work as a child, when fashion illustration still had not completely been eclipsed by photography. The Japanese influence is clear, though he transcended that to create something uniquely his own. Thank you so much for this beautifully made video.
Best fashion designer ever. Nobody will ever atain that standard. Full of humour, good taste, and a sense for what is expected from advertising he is teaching our generation what can be done with just a few nonchalante lines.
Thank you for posting this video of Rene Gruau. I truly feel that he the greatest Fashion Illustrator from the 20th Century. Even outshining Antonio who I also feel is one of the great Fashion Illustrators of the 20th century. You have also shown some illustrations that I have never seen before which for me is very exciting. Thank you again for this wonderful video of the great Rene Gruau!!
@@FashionQuestion You are welcome!! Truly enjoyed your video very much on Rene Gruau. I learned new things about him that I had never read or heard before. Also artworks by him that I was unaware of. So, I'm pleased to have found It and will definitely tell others and will be viewing it again and again 🙂💖👍
You are absolutely right! Both Degas and Gruau had connections to the Impressionist movement, although they were not strictly Impressionists. Degas was one of the founding members of the movement, while Gruau's later works show influence from Impressionism, especially in his portrayal of light and movement.❤️Thanks for watching!
The maestro of the minimal line ! There is so much going on besides the line, like juxtapositioning color and mass to enslave the viewers eyes to only see what the artist wants. A gesture that titulates without being overt ! I could go on and on.....Pure Genius ! Great bio & very enjoyable ❣
This is just so beautiful and elegant. We have all seen some of his works in the past. the simplicity of his few lines that are suggesting are so beautiful love it.... thanks you so much of publishing his works ❤❤❤❤
Oh,yes! Despite physical disabilities caused by genetic conditions, Toulouse-Lautrec became one of the most influential figures of Post-Impressionism. His works, characterized by bold colors, expressive lines, and a keen sense of humanity, are often associated with the Art Nouveau movement. Notable works include his posters of the Moulin Rouge and portraits of popular figures like Jane Avril and La Goulue. His style blended caricature with a raw, almost documentary realism, making his work a unique window into the Paris of the late 19th century.
Bravo! What a sophisticated and refined LINE! What a world of distinction and elegance in all aspects! This is what reality should be. Thanks also to M. Toulouse_Lautrec, the genius, who opened the path.

Lovely video, only the occasional AI mispronunciations break the spell. Gruau would be a household name in a just world.

The economy of line comes from Matisse
😲🤔
Lovely images but the AI voice is distracting.

Too bad about this computer type narrative. For an authentic creative person.

Stop using AI to narrate. When is pronounces words wrong, it feels cheap.
