- Charles James treated garments like architectural structures. i am so sorry to say this as i have commented an praised the subject. Have found myself watching your videos as sleepers because of poor music choices and the lack of storyline with random images from what appears an only source . Having the internet , you need to show the works when named because that's the best way to reinforce an idea and it's just logic. I shouldn't have to come an say this. it's beyond believe, i don't understand why there is no one complaining about this? maybe you as everyone else who knows his work are taking it for granted. Thank god i know by memory every piece and every picture named but imagine a student in research watching this and ending just overwhelmed and bored because it's almos unwatchable. I want a complete and carefully constructed re-edition in the name of Charles James's powerful work . This is not what he deserves.

Thanks for this. Charles James was a genius. I had friends who visited him regularly at the Chelsea Hotel in his last days. The muslin half-dress at 18:05 is incredible, as is the image of Maxime de la Falaise at 9:06. Do you know who the photographer is for the portrait at 16:19?

Like most geniuses, he suffered from severe mental problems. He was OCD. He would work on a sleeve for 1 year. He would sell a dress, and then go to the customers home and take it back because he didn't think it was finished. That is what ruined his business.

The clothes from today are just plain silly. Firstly you’d have to be built exactly like a model to wear them. Are the designers making fun of women. It sure seems like they hate women looking at those dresses.

Yes, Cecil Beaton photographed Queen Elizabeth II several times, starting in 1942 when she was still Princess Elizabeth. He became one of the most iconic photographers of the British royal family, known for his highly stylized and glamorous portraits. One of his most famous images is of Queen Elizabeth II on her coronation day in 1953, where she is depicted wearing her coronation robes, capturing the grandeur and majesty of the event. Beaton's work with the Queen helped to shape her public image and contributed significantly to the visual culture of the British monarchy. Thanks for watching ❤️
