- Not long after the US imposed sanctions on Russia's oil exports following the invasion of Ukraine, a whole new shipping industry emerged. The shadow fleet aims to get around sanctions on Russian oil. But the Russians are still making money. A lot of it. And the very countries that have imposed sanctions on Russia are helping to pay that bill.

But not that easy to pay for the expensive oil or fight a direct face to face war.

Its acctually not true what you claim Russia is maybe the biggest oil reserves but USA have more oil and coulld flood market is they wanted 2. Many of Russian reserves oil are of very poor quality and are not accesable without western technology (Quuality of ural oil is one of the most badest of all opils available) West buys his oil mostly from algeria and middle east now. Gas all for europ is Algeria and US. last year europe's oil import from US was 7% of its total import
