  • Springer fork steering tubes install on a bicycle frame using a threaded headset. There are two standard headset and stem sizes, 22.2mm or 21.1mm. The only difference in the headsets is the top cap aperture, one with an aperture of 22.2mm and the other with 21.1mm. Choose either size headset depending on the stem's diameter you will be using. For example, use a 22.2mm headset with a stem that has a 22.2mm diameter.

I was surprised watching this video that your fork steer tube did not fall down on the table at all but there was one thing that maybe cringe was after when you put that lock washer on you should have added a spacer above that before putting on the Spring Loop that would have lined up the spring bolts guide and your Spring Loop and the yoke that holds the spring in place and then put on a washer or should I say spacer then put on your lock nut .

So you do NOT tighten down that top nut till the spring loop sits flat?
