- Installing a bicycle springer fork, steering tube, and headset. In this video we are using a 26" bent springer fork with a 22.2mm headset. Here are the part numbers used:
513005 26" chrome bent springer fork. steering tube 7 1/2"" long from the top to the bottom bearing race, 4" of threading at the top.
503008 chrome 22.2mm headset with bearings
The same process is used for installing any size springer fork onto a bicycle frame head tube. - Хобби
This video leaves out so much information and so many necessary steps, it should be flagged as "inappropriate." I hope no kids build a bike like this after watching you.
Yes sir it will probably end up hurting them
"Screws on nicely" * *assistant tries to cross thread it* *
You beat me to it by two years! :-D
I came down here looking for a similar comment , I was not disappointed
Cross threading OR
Rethreading 🧐
There you have it. How NOT to install a fork.
so explain the correct way in lieu of cryptic postings
@@beepbopboop1303 The correct way is to just use common sense. Something that this video didn't mention or display.
Thanks for the video, I already spotted something I did wrong on putting my front end on an old Schwinn. 🤙🏻
Does shine know how to install a siren for one of these. Do I Need a battery
how do the handle bars attach like what holds it all together im lost
Does the springer fork have a bearing race on the bottom? If so did it come with it? Mine didnt come with one i dont think
can you do a video on how to install Lowrider Bike Low Down Crown Fork Extender and what the difference is between that and a standard crown set up? thanks
Thanks bro i was wondering which way the barings where facing
are beach cruiser steerer tubes 1" always? Can a shock fork for mountain bike be used or is the springer fork the only option for shock?
hey can you tight the spring or loosen it?
Is everything really “out of stock” on your website? I wish I could do some shopping
I bought one like this but how do u put the handle bars back do i need someother type of piece cuz the screw to the handle bar doesnt go into the fork like theres no hole for it to go into ?
cool you have the same bike brame now question were do you get the bearing races for the top and bottom the flared our parts I have a tripple tree fork that i'm installing and I have not bearing races or bearings and its not a threaded tube like that one do you have any ideas thank.s
No grease ! now that makes for a good build !!!
I follow this, but my for is a nit loose... any ideas?
Where did you buy that springer? I've never seen one with the bottom bearing race already installed.
I have a huffy cranbrook anyone know if this will work for it if so will it look nice? I’m new to this and I like the bike but I want to customize it so it looks better
im putting a 20 in for on a 16 inch schwinn and even tho its a bigger fork it still doesnt fit on the frame.. the threaded tube is to short to get the last bolt on.. any suggestions????
I just bought a 20” bent springer fork for my Worksman tricycle. I went to install and would not fit correctly. The headset measures 6 1/4”. When I go to install the fork ring, it isn’t able to raise up high enough to be able to slide onto the steering tube! It’s seems like the base of the steering tube is too high up on the forks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I am a “noob” as my kids would call me, and I’m just trying to get some pointers to what I’m doing wrong. Thanks in advance.
I noticed after the nut was put on the fork ring is crooked with space above and below it after nut has been tightened... probably have to cut the tube at a certain point during process...
im converting a kids 16 inch specialized hotrock bike frame into a lowrider and wondering if you can help me figure the size steering tube i need, the headtube is 80mm and the head tube angle is 70 degrees . if you can help me it will greatly appriciated this is my first build . thanks
Will it fit a Men's Kent 2600 cruiser bike
How do o buy a right springer frok. I want put one to a bmx
did you guys forget to grease your threads and bearing for the headset or just not do it for the sake of time and instruction?
bro can i use a regular size 20 banana bike to build a lowrider or do I need a slightly longer bike to make it????
Is thT a 20" frame on a 26" bent springer fork?
at 0:17, what kind of bearing is that called? I am trying to look for a replacement bearing for my headset and need something like that.
LOOKING FOR A FORK LIKE THIS ONE FOR AN 27.5 CRUISER BICYCLE ANY LINK TO BUY IT ?
1,000th like! Sweetness! Good video btw, to the point and informative.
How could you cross thread something that much? Also...Where is the crown race? Where is the grease? Did the fork blow apart after the first bump?
My gooseneck bar is to small and dont stick out the top is there any advice you can give me id really appreciate it. Great video by the way very informative thanks again
shouldn't that spring ring be level on the shaft with the correct washers? that is so crooked, it's gonna flatten the shaft threads over time and ruin it. Plus no bearing grease? this is the white boy install. haha
Plus he didn't tighten up the lock washer. Perhaps it's the real quick fix installation.
Evil b sure thing 100% correct
This is RUclips quality 11 years ago whaddya expect
Do you need to use a spacer tube for some bikes, for the top of the steering tube? Do you trim the top and leave the ring crooked? Where do you get the bearings, does it come with the forks? Does it come with all the metal dohickies, or do you purchase them separately?
Take a look on Amazon buddy top lowrider has anything u need. I personally could not find a spacer tube it's just too short on other bikes. Take a look at my comments I explain how to pull it off.
how many times are you going to thread the shaft. jeeze!
hey whats the width of the springer fork
My fork ring won't come off my steering tube. The only way I see is to take the spring off but there seems to be an easier way. Anyone know?
I have a very plain Jane Huffy beach cruiser from Walmart. I've been thinking of customizing this bike into a rat rod bicycle. This maybe a dummy question but are these forks Universal for any beach cruiser? Or are there certain measurments I need to know about?
Good question, I'm wondering the same thing
questions wear you guys located I wood like to buy some 26" fenders for my Schwinn beach cruiser lowrider bike tanks great videos
Pode mandar um fork low ,para testar 26"
Thanks for the video.......
Can the angle of the fork be adjusted if I wanted it to look more stretched?
Get an extended crown
wont that spring ring Mess up the threading without a cap
Very helpfull 👌🏽
Does it come with all the bearings or do I purchase them separately
I know this was 4 years ago. But for those with the same question,
You buy the bearings separately. Or use the ones on your bike if you are just changing the fork.
How do i get the metal ring the bottom bearings sit on. First ring on steering tube before bearings.
I think you’re talking about the racing crown. You can get them off eBay just make sure it’s the right size
@@aayandres22 i did more research. It was the crown race. I found the part i was looking for. It was also a different size for spring forks. My new hobby is building lowriders or any bike really. So any tips i will appreciate. Thanks
you mean 80% turning?
haces envíos a México?
I'll never understand why Springer fork is better than girder.. Someone can explain me?
It needs to be snug and tight, you will get it
Como puedo contactarlos
for a 20 inch frame..does a 21.1mm neck fit? or 22.2mm? anyone help thanks
Compton ChuckZ 20 inch bent forks 💯
Did i miss where you packed the bearings with grease?
No he be stupid af
Y do I have an extra piece
No grease/lube on those bearings huh? ;) Are you *really* a mechanic??

You should require a signed release disclosure, before someone views this video. Using your advice will eventually get someone hurt. The lock ring was not installed correctly, defying the purpose of it. No grease assembly. The top spring bracket chattering on machined head tube threads is an accident waiting to happen, not to mention destroying parts. Moderator should be more thorough when screening clips.
Orale ese like all the dop Lowrider. Bike's. In the e videos im working on my schwinn beach cruiser bike
what happens when you adjust the spring fork for the spring itself
keep your day job guys
Saludos chiapas,México, deseo obtener esta tijera
Go ahead, Go ahead, Go ahead, Go ahead, Go ahead,
@reptilezs saw it off.. i did putting a 26'' fork on a 24 bike frame
dont saw too much tho
Why does your assistant seem so passive aggressive in his movements lol
Well at least he got the fork on the front of the bike. It kind of went downhill after that.
Rad video! I'm trying to remove a steering tube from a bike with a similar design and it just isn't working out. The bike is pretty well rusted, but I don't think it's THAT rusted. Any pointers?
Just gotta keep working it... Maybe spray lubricant... l had the same problem with mine, l just kept working it until it popped out... l threw that fckr out and bought authentic 1960's hardware... For me it's the only way to go.!
Price???
20% tutorial
70% turning
lol wheres the grease?
itu nama cat nya warna ap
What I wanted to see. The format of the design 👍
I guess "Bicycledesigner" doen't mean bicycle mechanic.
Bitchin' chrome fram though. Those for sale here or somewhere?
Your springer bracket is not on right -it's crooked I,ve been building bike for over 10 years.. Jesik bikes
How do u stop the spring action fork from squeaking
Richard Reyes wd40
Craziest parts I ever ordered came from bicycle designers, 5 out 5 parts I ordered were a huge disappointment, their customer service is far worse
Nice n snug
not bad
Its bad setup because after a few turns riding your bike the lower ring that secure the ballbearings will become lose wich will result that you probly will loose your lower ballbearings..
is that for real? Are you serious? was this a joke?
Bruh there's hella chrome in this video
Fuck up the threads, k go ahead.
fica quase o vídeo todo apertando porcas e não mostra a frente montada....
they forgot to grease the bearings!!!!!!!
all over his hands lol
I found it odd that you make the video yet don't answer potential customers questions (I already buy from you). Granted it isn't rocket science and these are just bicycles which require very little in the way of mechanical skills but we live in a time where even a lot of men don't know what a tool box is for so it is probably in your interest to spoon feed information rather than just giving the order of assembly.
didn't see any grease ...
ALFRED PAPO Get some glasses. I see grease, not much, probably just a light coating as provided by the manufacturer.
That said, they struggled to start the nuts (poorly machined thread or plating), and they didn't finish the job properly.
That poor guy doing the work seemed scared as hell to do something wrong and literally walked backwards trying desperately not to make a mistake. you must be extremely mean and his job security just barely there. Take better care of the man doing the work . Sad the attention was drawn to him rather then what I came here for which is research on the classic springer fork.
Come on ' this does not look right ' it's crooked
it's loose looking, pieces missing ,the threads on the goose neck will get ruined in no time , what the ??
are you guys for real?
Yes they are I ordered parts my my lowrider bike project
Also they didn't tighten it down enough in this video the top part needs to be completely flush with the frame with no gap. These dudes are idiots also being way to rough with the chrome I'd be freaking out. Lol
Ha, you will never build a bike for me.... lmao!
3:28 that looks like fuck'n garbage
You must have only watched 90% of the video...
I really like how you messed up the threads putting on the dust cover. Come on now since when do you just start fisting the damn thing trying to crank it on? That is why you couldn't get the lockring on very easy. Not sure who you are but def don't want you building anything I paid for...
Put grease on those bearings! A Crescent Wrench?!! Get the correct size box end wrench, rookie!
bro I'm 15 and I build bikes and I'm smarter than this guy wtf.
Saame
Four and a half minutes of WTF.
What a f-'n train wreck of an install. As mentioned below, this is how you DONT install them.
steer tube too long
This is screw up.
WTF wrong all wrong is this video supposed to be a joke Step 1 cross thread everything then back it off and pretend like you didn't mean to do that step 2 just put whatever Parts you have left on there if it doesn't look right make a video out of it and put it on RUclips
+Jay Traxon What is the correct process? I am currently building a bicycle and was about to take their advice and go buy those parts. I only have the Fork, Handlebars, and Stem Assembly.
Shit.. that looks wrong and messy!
Ha-Ha these people are a joke. Look how it's all crooked 😅 I build lowriders & that's not what you do.
not the right way do not do it this way!you will fuck up your shaft thread
