I recently bought a used XT-2 trigger for my Olympus and looked at more than five videos to try and determine why, when I had the same items selected on both my Godox V86011 flash and the XT-2 Trigger the flash would not work. I was beginning to think that the Trigger was defective... but kept looking at different videos to find out what I might be doing wrong. Your video solved the problem and the Trigger now enables me to use the Flash off camera. Like another review below mine states: Godox should pay you for your video as you explain things better than anyone else on youtube. Thank you for an outstanding tutorial. I'm so stoked I found your video!
If I remember correctly the multimode parameters is for multiple flashburst for a single picture. Hz tells you the 'speed' with which the flash fires off the burst, 60Hz means it'll take 1/60th of a second for one burst and when you factor in the selected 12 bursts it'll give you a calculation 60/12 = 5 -> 1/5th of a second needed (at least) to record all 12 bursts in one shot. -If that was what you were asking in the video? Thanx for the information, very informative, looking at buying one myself.
Hz means times per second. So if you set you Multi-mode at, say, 20Hz and 12 times, the flash(es) will (attempt to) fire 12 times, with thre frequency of 20 times per second
4:36 You ask what this is for so I will correct you here. Several triggers, notably Pocket Wizards enable you to trigger multiple flash pulses when you shoot. So you can use a slower shutter speed and while the shutter is open you can have your flash fire multiple times. It’s an interesting effect if you have something moving. Test this out by setting it to 1/128, 12Hz, 5 times. Then press the test button. Cool effect. But one I have only very rarely used. While in this mode you can press the individual A through E buttons to add those channels and associated flashes to the mix, but you cannot change individual power modes. They are all set to the same fraction of whatever each individual flash power is.
Thank you so much for the breakdown. At the time I made this video, I definitely didn't know how to use it. A couple of weeks ago I released a video on how to use it now that I finally know how it works. Definitely a feature that would be rarely used by me as well. You summed it up really clearly. Thanks again 🙏
@@DoubtMeTech I will have a watch 😊 I have never used the function in all my years shooting. I don’t know if you have messed around with the Bluetooth since this video but as I just received mine I have been sitting on my couch with both iPad and phone and having a play with it. It works great. I think for studio work it’s a godsend. Big easy interface (especially on the iPad) so you don’t have to bend down to look at the back of the unit while it’s on camera to do the adjusting.
Very good tutorial. Easy to follow. Please let me know if you have a tutorial on the Godox V1. I can't quite figure out the operation of the control buttons. Thanks.
I have the X2T trigger, but there is no "AF OPT" in the menu. It is also the same software version as the one in this video. I noticed that the trigger used in this video is the X2T-S version for Sony where mine is the X2T-C version for Canon.
Thank you so much for explaining all this! Just one thing, I have set high speed sync mode in trigger but it still shows second curtain icon in the menu overview, why?
I just bought this setup. How do I know if I need to do a firmware update? Is it doable with MacBook Pro.. If you have already addressed this in another video let me know. Stay safe
Thank you for the thorough explanation, better than the actual manufacturer! After selecting the group I somehow can't set the mode to TTL, (minute 3:28) it switches from -- to ON... anyone got a solution? Still searching even in other forums and there isn't an apparent solution. Tried everything so far, including on\off, changing cameras, input from the app, removing batteries. No success. Cheers
I love how clear you are in your explanation. Much better than the manual, as another poster said! You did mention the 3.5mm port. I can only get my wireless Godox tt600 flash to work by using that port. Should that be true?
@@Ashrafster no. I've set up everything like in the 2 manuals, to the point where it says to press the camera shutter to release the flash. The x2t lighting button releases the flash.
fluxTV that video doesn’t have the remote trigger on a camera. Like I said before, my trigger does trigger the flash, but not by pressing the camera shutter. Which camera, flash do you have?
How do I program my trigger to allow my flash to decide the flash power? I was able to do this with my canon and not the Sony. As a real estate photographer I need to be able to go into a room away from my camera and light it up and do so using diff flash settings. I usually do 1/1, 1/2 and 1/4 power in the other room. And make these changes on my flash and it changes the trigger from the flash.
Hello. Do you now if you put a flash on the top hot shoe of this X2T it will take the “group A” settings of the X2T even it is not set to slave mode or it runs separately as a single unit? Second question is if a flash runing on the top hot shoe of this X2T fires if the X2T is turned off? Thank you!

I got the s5, if i got the x2t for Canon or Nikon it will trigger the flashes? I dont need ttl.
Thank you sir I have another question I just received godex X2tn but I wanted the X2tc I have a Canon 5D Mark four doesn’t matter which one that I have ? Will it work
I don’t know why when I select a group then when I am trying to select between manual or TTL it doesn’t do it. I can only turn on or off a group. Any advise ?
So you press the group you are using e.g A button on top and make sure it is showing A dark on the screen (highlighted), then press the mode button and you should be able to go through off, manual or TTL. If you press the A button on top again, it switches off group A (not longer highl;ighted)and then the mode button will only switch between manual and multi mode.
The question is...I have the X1T and Xpro on Fuji mount with my Godox V860ii and TT685. If i buy the Sony version of X2T and i put my Fuji godox 860 will this act as ttl or i have to set up as a wireless anyway to act as a ttl?
@@DoubtMeTech, its a new function only available on the godox x Pro transmitter! This unit does not have a hot shoe, but has a button that converts ttl to MANUAL! as th xpro was released before the model you reviewed, I'm disappointed they did not incorporate that function!

I believe the firmware update has to be done on a computer. I actually have never done a firmware update on this trigger and it's always worked fine
You will need a Windows computer.
Unless you have Canon EOS-R3, Sony A1 or Nikon Z9 or ZX, firmware not needed.

Unfortunately I don't know. If the flash has a built in wireless receiver, then yes. But I'm not sure about that flash
Totally wrong in saying that above hotshoe an ATG TTL passthru (1:20)
ATG disabled TTL just the same for ATG TCM.
How to reset godox x2t

The one disappointment for me is no TCM button! I'e, convert TTL to manual!
What's TCM?
You can switch from TTL to Manual or vice versa with the trigger.
@@DoubtMeTech I think I answered that!
I'm still unsure of your original comment. Were you saying you can or cannot switch?
@@DoubtMeTech, its a new function only available on the godox x Pro transmitter! This unit does not have a hot shoe, but has a button that converts ttl to MANUAL! as th xpro was released before the model you reviewed, I'm disappointed they did not incorporate that function!
