nope i own this one (2015), its a beast, even at stock. maybe the new m touring would be better. The car has a big downside (which is also a big plus). But owning one of these is a big risk on losing your driver license :P if you're not in germany.
I have the saloon version of this in the same mineral grey colour with the M performance side skirts on a 67 plate. I drive it in a spirited manner where I can and even when having a bit of fun still get a minimum of 34-39mpg. Launched it off a set of traffic lights just before a roundabout on a slightly damp day in Brighton a few months back, left an AMG A45 for dead. Hadn't even fully got onto the roundabout before I was taking the exit.
The 335d is definitely the most bang for buck vehicle money can buy. I dont think there is anything else which is better around 13-15k. With a remap, near 400hp and a minimum of 30mpg. Dont forget all the torque to stop earths rotation. Nice review my bro, looking forward to the next
You can tow a trailer, get high MPG when needed, be a grand tourer, be a van, a track weapon and more in just one package. It does everything! Thanks for the support
I just scooped up a spec out 340i saloon last week and I’m loving it, I did consider the estate, this car beats nearly everything based on practicality
Absolutely love your videos pal, very detailed and you seem to always do the cars that we the general public are interest in and/or are able to afford. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Most forces use the newer 330d, Surrey police years back used to use the 335D but now it's 330d maximum really, shame that BMW have pulled out of the authorities market. I'm in the police and we now have Toyota Corolla estate response cars and Volvo V90 estates for the advanced ("Class 1") pursuit drivers.
It is the ultimate car. The car may needs some TLC if it's chucking out sooty smoke though! I have the exact same car with remap and it's clean as a whistle. By the sound of it the car may have had a hard life though!
@@CarNitty for example at 2:10 the lighting changes completely, maybe due to the western changing, but it should be correctable in post production. Love the content in the vid though spot on.
That's because these clips are recorded one at a time. The sky had gotten cloudy so the sun disappeared. I tried amending lighting etc but I cannot replicate natural sunlight
13k? not in today's market and deffo not one with a decent spec/mileage, they're a lot cheaper than their 340i petrol counterpart though, nice video btw
The owner picked his car for around that market with just over 100k miles. As it's a diesel, mileage isn't such a big issue for some. Check out the rest of our content and if you like that you see, consider subscribing
I got a 67 plate saloon one of these in the same colour, December 2022, with 59,000 miles on it from Big motoring world. Car was worth roughly £20k at the time but it was on sale for £17,300. I paid an extra £1,300 for a 3 year warranty which came in handy as it had a few faults that needed sorting, and the total bill to Big Motoring World was £1,400 (£1k parts including various sensors and an SZL module and £400 labour). In total I paid £18,600 for it. At the time it was a right bargain and it was literally the only one in the entire country of that age, mileage and condition. Couldn't find a single other one. Next cheapest was about £19,000 with no warranty and 10k more miles. Only downside I found was it was a basic spec, leather seats but not electric and not heated, no powerfold mirrors or adaptive cruise control just standard cruise control, smaller business nav screen and no reverse camera, but had parking sensors. I ended up retrofitting an OEM BMW 8.8 inch touchscreen display myself and coded it using BimmerCode and an MX OBD tool. Currently the car is on Michelin Primacy 3 RF's at the front and Michelin PS4 Zero Pressure at the rear, plan to change that to 4 standard PS4's in the next few months which apparently is a "night and day" difference. Unlike the previous owner I'm actually looking after this car (previous owner had run flat tyres but didn't bother having TPMS sensors fitted, which is actually illegal, and the tyre pressure monitoring system wouldn't work until I bought some sensors and had them fitted). In the 9 months I've had it, it's had a full service after 4 months in April this year, in August this year it had a major service (2 years/24,000 miles) and a brand new replacement windscreen as the existing one had some noticeable stone chips in the driver's line of sight that glinted in the sun.
Currently looking for getting the 6I diesel engine but i still don’t know which one between 335D/435D/535D they all have their advantages and the 535D is the heaviest but it got some extra space and comfort. Which one should i buy ? I liked your review by the way !
go for the 335d mate the n57t1 tends to have problems in the heavier cars and it's going to be rapid in the 3 series. The most fun. But if comfort is more important to you ofc the 5 series. Watch out that the car has had all its oil changes on time
335d F30 - to be as low-key as possible 335d F31 - for the boot space 435d F32 - same as the F30 without needing 4 doors 435d F33 - hardtop convertible up enjoy all year round when the weather's good 435d F36 - the better looks of the 4 series with a 3 series practicality 535d F10 - for a large motorway cruiser 535d F11 - same as F10 but more boot space 640d - my favourite out of all them. The 4 series looks but the 5 series comfort All N57D30 engines
i have a 2015 335d saloon in the same colour mineral gray and im watching this video couldnt agree anymore with what you said, the only other option for me was the x5 which i really love due to its size and same engine and power, the estate is a beautiful car but again its for use cases, for me i didnt have such use cases and instead went for saloon,
@@CarNitty yeah true thats why i went for the saloon the perfect package planning a europe trip end of September with it, will be good to see its potential esp on the Swiss alps
In other words a twin scroll turbo which has been the case for all turbocharged BMW/Mini cars except for the N54, M twin turbo engines and 335d/M340d etc
Just goes about its business without shouting. I don't wanna be blasting a hundred miles of B roads in an hour at 2am with straight cannons spitting flames. I love my e91 m57. This is next.
The reason you don’t get the benefit is when the diesel engine is cold it uses loads more fuel. Diesels also take longer to get up to temperature too so it adds to it. I have a 5 cylinder diesel Volvo. I get less MPG than I did in a Octavia VRS petrol on a short run when the engines cold.
Just make sure they've been regularly serviced so either every year or 6000-8000 miles. Check for any oil leaks in the engine bay and check the underside of the car if possible to see the state of the car and again, any residue of leaks. They're great cars but no doubt they attract owners who will no doubt use the performance on tap so try to get a well looked after variant
I think manufacturer says 12k miles but I dread to think of a car running on the same oil for that long. 8-10k is my minimum but you're onto a winner if it's every 6k
Great video..have a 66 plate 335d and thinking of doing a stage one on it..does doing these things hinder M.O.Ts and is the engine and gearbox ok to handle it..the new 340 is only up to 700nm just wondeting if BMW have taken it as far as safely poss.
Typically speaking, a stage 1 tune will never cause any harm to a car. Manufacturers undetune their engines so a stage 1 utilises its potential hence why no upgraded are needed. Anything beyond a stage 2 require parts to be upgraded or fitted. I'd say if you do a stage 1, upgrade your air box or something to aid cooling as heat is the biggest issue with pushing and sort of power
I don't think you can go wrong with the 30d. Same engine, just down a turbo and if a 320d is enough for most, the 330d will be more than ample. Manual is very rare in these F Series cars overall due to low uptake.
U can turn off x drive thing software'li" those back wheels wont fall off 😅 even u will still cary weight from x drive but its fine little just little more stable 😅 but 750ng good luck keeping ur wheels without speening even in my opinion on 1/3 of gass padle 😅

Carbon isn't cheap. Carbon pieces cost around £300 a pop average for splitter, sideskirt, diffuser and spoiler. He did more stuff later such as OEM ambient lighting and changed the seats and door cards to an individual colour.
Most forces don't use these and have never done so. A lot of forces used the 330i or 330d, I know Surrey police used the 335D for a brief stint a few years back but not anymore.
