I have a combo one and the thing that people don't pay attention to is that the washer and dryer have different capacities. The same machine can wash more than it can dry, so most of the time they "overload" the dryer.
Not this beauty of a combo unit. Leave the entire load in if you want, it'll be dry at the end of the cycle. What's the point of a one and done if you have to babysit it? 🤔
@@geappliances But this unit only has a 4.8 cuft drum. That's fine for a washer but small for a dryer. For instance, my GE washer has a 4.6 cuft and my GE gas dryer has a 7.4 cuft drum. It's nice having a larger dryer drum size because as things dry out they expand, which works well for sheets, blankets and comforters.
I don’t understand US washing and drying capacities? In the UK we use Kg. So our washers have a 5, 6, or 7 kg capacity for a small load, or an 8 or 9 kg capacity is standard, or a 10, 11, or 12 kg capacity for a large family or such.

Hi. Is your hisense washer dryer combo still going strong? I'm thinking of getting one of those. I live in Africa, so I expect to pay almost double what you paid.
I'm looking for this tech to mature. Not because I want to save space. But because we are on a system where the cost of power varies depending on the time. Off peak is obviously the cheapest but we tend to be asleep during those times and no one wants to get up at midnight to change over the load from washer to dryer. I want to set it up on a timer to kick in at 11:pm and then wash _and_ dry the load without needing additional attention. We might even have, (dare I say it?) _two_ units and get _two_ loads done overnight. But by the time this comes around, I'll be retired, and with all the electric cars charging overnight, off peak rates will probably change anyway.
This unit has the ability to set a delayed start time so you can have it run in the middle of the night and wake up to clean warm clothes in the morning. We got one last weekend and it has been pretty awesome so far.
@@Lord.Kiltridge it’s about the same. It can hold a lot if you stuff it in there, but that reduces efficiency and increases wear and tear. They recommend filling it 70%. It ends up being an average sized load.
The problem I see with washer dryer combos is that the majority of the stuff washed, can't go in a dryer. It has to be hung to dry. These machines would have to give you the chance to take certain things out before the dry cycle happens.
I still would prefer a traditional washer/dryer set, for the fact that you can only wash one load at a time with any washer/dryer combo. Even two hours is too much time for me.
Love ! Can it still plug in to the outlet in the the Laundry room? Does it still sit on the drain ? Do you need a drain pan ? What size pan would you need for it ?

@@Resist4 it's the 2nd largest we could find in the states and many of the steps up from the minimum size required removing items before drying, at least this allows normal loads and if not completely stuffed has the set it and forget it nature. When used this way it won't need a dryer sized tub but that extra breathing room would allow even faster drying, or drying stuff that got wet outside the unit. The other unit we considered was the heat pump LG stacker which I believe had normal sizes of both IIRC but it cost even more than this monster, didn't have the month of supplies hopper and you had to manually move items between the halves of the appliance, the bonus they had with my shorter wife was lower controls than most stackers. But since getting this my wife has done one load, I guess it was always the dryer or the swap that had her preferring to do it herself, now it's "hey that basket is full" I cart them over and push go and sometime later (up to two days, usually later that day or the next morning), one of us empties a basket of clean dry clothes and they get delta with.
@@KaceyGreen The thing with having a larger dryer tub is because clothes will expand as they dry. And as things are more cramped while they are drying, it can make the clothes more wrinkled.
@@Resist4 but why would they expand to a greater size than when you put them in the machine dry and dirty? Sure a little bit but are they all crumpled towels or something that compresses really well when dirty?
I had a washer/dryer we call them here in the uk they seem like something new over there and condenser dryers 🤷🏻♂️😂 It really wasn’t bad at all had a 9kg drum was big enough for a big double duvet but 5.5kg drying. It was really quiet everything come out really clean and a 1550rpm they were pretty much just damp by the time it finished spinning and that was before the dry cycle was a “hotpoint Aquarius washer dryer” . It was great till it developed a balancing problem and would take forever to spin unless it was basically overloaded weirdly lol. It was a bored fault so just gave it away still worked but Would take nearly 45 mins or not at all to spin a load so done my head in and it got replaced with a lg direct drive. But gt heat pump dryer which is amazing on electric ⚡️😃 If you live on your own like me or even with 1 child and 2 adults you can manage perfectly well with a 2in1 it’s so convenient having everything washed and dried in the same thing! Make sure you fast spin the highest setting was 1550rpm on mine or extra high spin dry 🌀 and everything will dry quickly use slow speeds it will take ages to dry especially anything below a 1000rpm. Do that and you will have no problems and save electricity and time 👍🏻🙂 I would not recommend this for a family of 4 or more as waiting for it to wash and dry say like on a hot cotton wash will take up to 3/4 hours to do it all. You do have quicker washes but I don’t use the quick or turbowash button on my whites or quite dirty clothes because they don’t come out clean. I only use quick options for darks and stuff that just needs freshening up.
I have it for three days and it doesn’t seem that impressive. Had 2 major issues already. Costco gave me 90 days to return it. First , issue it froze on the spin cycle with water for an hour. Needed to power off unit and restart unit. Then on the second cycle, when drying. It estimated 55 minutes. Took 4 hours and i had to pause the dryer and take the damp clothes and put it in my old dryer.

I can't say for sure that this will work...but I have a duet front load washer I got in 2005 (it's now over 18 years old) Within 2 years (around 2007) the control board went out...the control board got replaced and from that point on I've kept it plugged into a surge protector and no issues... Is this the reason? I don't know... but just to be safe, I'd do it.
We have this one and love it, can't fill it too full to where it doesn't have any air space but other than that it fits us perfectly
Oh! Appreciate the fact you have it and it works well for you!
Yeah, wish the tub was bigger. At least normal dryer size.
The flashing gave me the 'flashed away' vibes 😂
I had a washer/dryer we call them here in the uk they seem like something new over there and condenser dryers 🤷🏻♂️😂
It really wasn’t bad at all had a 9kg drum was big enough for a big double duvet but 5.5kg drying. But gt heat pump dryer which is amazing on electric ⚡️😃
If you live on your own like me or even with 1 child and 2 adults you can manage perfectly well with a 2in1 it’s so convenient having everything washed and dried in the same thing! Make sure you fast spin the highest setting was 1550rpm on mine or extra high spin dry 🌀 and everything will dry quickly use slow speeds it will take ages to dry especially anything below a 1000rpm. Do that and you will have no problems and save electricity and time 👍🏻🙂
I would not recommend this for a family of 4 or more as waiting for it to wash and dry say like on a hot cotton wash will take up to 3/4 hours to do it all.
Congrats on the UltraFast! We're sorry to hear it's been a bit of a bumpy road so far, but we're happy to help. We highly recommend connecting it to WiFi and making sure it has the latest software update. This will be crucial in making sure it runs properly. Let us know if you have any questions!
@@geappliances I doubt a software update will fix that issue. It clearly didn't perform as advertised. This is the problem with new products, they just aren't tested enough before being released and customers end up being the testers and dealing with the issues and inconvenience. Make it work right first, then sell it!
You may have a bad copy. I have ran 5 loads through it so far and it has been WONDERFUL. Clothes are clean and dry. I already would not go back. Google the youtube video from yale appliances talking with the lead designer for the combo product. They tested, tested, tested and tested. This appliance is a game changer and this will absolutely be the new 'go to' way of doing laundry. 'Resist4', sounds like a heck of a handle. Do you have one of these or are you just here to grumble miserably about things you do not know about?

Good commercial, I would like to get one so bad !
BUT:
- I'm not in the US and doubt it's sold where I am
- I can't afford it
- I'm a renter and the furniture is part of the apartment, if it breaks down I have to call my landlord... And in a nutshell he isn't the friendliest out there...
Whether or not its good now this is the future

Why don't u let clothes dry outside,,
in India we do hang clothes outside in daylight..
here in the states many HOA's have banned clotheslines even temporary or collapsible/hideable arrangements
Not everyone wants bugs, dust or pollen in their clothes. Plus, you can't hang clothes outside during cold freezing or rainy weather.
I currently hang dry and if I understood there is an option to wash only. Clothes from a dryer never smell as good. I hang dry all winter too. This gives an option for extended rainy periods
@@bryanandjamie2032 yes you can run wash or dry modes separately. It doesn't have that burnt electric clothes smell nor the residual gas smell. Everyone says the clothes come out cooler but mine lives in the garage where currently ambient is 80 to 95 Fahrenheit so maybe later I'll feel those cooler Temps. I have had the damp to magically dry feeling when I catch it right at the end of a cycle.
@@bryanandjamie2032 I assume you mean you hang dry inside during winter and rainy periods.

After hooking up a vent in my mobile home for my dryer it was a night mare to have to crawl under and run the vent to the outside skirting. Having a machine that not only saves space but is ventless sounds like the perfect combination.
Waaaaaay too expensive.
Great Video and Great Explanation for people use to a Standard Dryer. The unit has one flaw, Lint Bypassing the Filter assembly. Would you be interested in testing one of our Kits to catch the lint? RUclips: Home Guy Customer Service

Those noises at the end are just like my 2003 built flat in the UK! Absolutely horrendous what I can hear!! No peace when there’s a stomper upstairs who is mentally unstable!
Hi David
Hi
The explination of how the unit works, needs work.
ouch!! rough views on this one... maybe stick with a day in the life videos

Nice try Ditty.
Sorry, but you look just like the character “Godwin” from the Netflix series “Vikings: Valhalla.”
Speak with an English accent, and you can break into that series as a family member.
