  • Time to dive hard into the NC Content! Today we're swapping a 2017 Ford Fusion 2.5L with Jenvey ITB's into my 2008 NC Miata. Having never swapped one of these engines out, this was definitely a learning experience for me.

Should’ve put a 1.6 in it for real power options

I need to step towards the power level of a 1.6, so baby steps with the 2.5

Not everyone is capable of handle that level of raw power.

Stefan, are the ports (plugged) on each leg of the header for ECT sensors? I know you said you're off turbos for a while, but I see FM has announced an NC turbo kit... Was wondering if it is now possible for a 2.5 turbo swap...

Its an ac compressor and the wire is the clutch power to activate the compressor.

beautiful new engine. I prefer the 2.0 personally. RPM :) The bone stock 2.0l is good for 8k RPM redline. It's only when you add cams is when you'd need to upgrade the valve springs to handle higher revs. But stock head and block is good for 8k rpm track use :)

Final answer is a 2.5 destroked to a 2.4. More power and higher rev ceiling.

Do you have a video on the aluminum valve cover that you offer? Showing off the mods you do to them? Considering buying one prior to installing a turbo kit.

Hey buddy, thanks for this video, I am in Australia and I am thinking about doing the 2.5 swap on my NC, but I am struggling a bit finding that duratec engine, I think there are some Mazda 6 that have this one but do you know how can I distinguish them? is there any marks or something?

I have a 2002 focus spi motor,.. how hard would it be to swap it to a dohc motor... the spi doesn't have any upgrades that I know of other than a turbo kit.

You can lift the nose of the car from the cross member with an engine hoist to get the engine out of the bottom.
