Timmy Joe PC Tech I'm happy to see you doing this kind shit, no other RUclipsr as the dare to do something like this, you do what you want and we love that, I subbed way back and I'm still subbed for a reason, sponsor or no sponsor, your content is fucking insanely great.
So an HTPC in an xbox shell. Cool. I'll be doing a build around the 2400g soon as well. Edit: I am not saying the 2400g is weak or bad in any way. I think it is pretty great. Especially since it is primarily a quad core 8 thread cpu with integrated graphics as the secondary purpose.
.....a good "igpu"? There is no such thing, you would be lucky to get 30-40fps with a 2400g in GTA V or any older game really and forget 4k.. Cool little novelty? Yea.
Considering you'd struggle to get that level of graphics with a graphics card that costs less than the APU itself, I'd say that's a pretty fking solid accomplishment. Buy a cpu and get $100 graphics card level of performance for FREE and without taking up more space or power. This thing is better than a 750 Ti, the value proposition is fucking incredible. I'm not saying APUs are the future of all gaming, but they're certainly a very powerful addition to the budget market, having to no longer buy a power supply with a higher output or a bigger case, let alone a gpu itself.
Why are so many people obsessed using a vhs? Why not just make your own if you want to see that so badly. I see so many comments inside a vhs, why ?!!??? Whats so special about a vhs. Just go out buy a cheap ass pc case, ryzen 3200 + and up, mid range used gpu and boom. Better specs, better cooling, easier to build and you have a working pc. I don't get all this hype over a vhs, its not like we are going to get a 3080+ in it, and make it game at 200+ fps.
Timmy Joe PC Tech Eeeyyy, since you decided to actually show up here in the comment section figured I'd just throw it out there, I've been watching your content for a couple of weeks now here and there since you showed up in one of my recommendations, and at this point I can't deny you for any reason, so you're about to get my sub. :D
Awesome vid! As an ex-owner of an old a10-6800k APU, I can say that what AMD started way back in 2013/14 has finally matured into a very strong budget-oriented gaming solution that finally offer no-compromise entry level 1080p gaming without having a dedicated graphics card. This is perfect for eSports or MMO players, and I foresee a very good market for Ryzen APU HTPC/ living room steam computers. Awesome!
exactly, i had a10 7800 and it was a decent processor i was getting around 3.7 ghz gaming on medium to low getting somewhere in the 25-30 fps range depending on the title of course. strangely enough it handled music production way better then i though it would to.theses new chips though seem to something else glad to see it.
Jesse Crawford I would also have a blu ray/4k driver disc instead of their external "HD" Dvd. This is a great ideas to put in the living room playing lot of old games without having to buy multiple retro system.
I just finally took apart my a7-7300 APU build that Iv had for 6 years to put together my 2200g. Very excited to get my boot kit so I can get it working :D
Seeing the final assembly and how many attempts it took to plug the case together reminds me of how much of a struggle I had trying to mod my old XBOX 360.
I absolutely love the way you use unconventional objects to aid you in your building. Lazy Susan for quick access and styrofoam to use as a drill buffer. Very very smart.
The cooler sticking out the top actually looks dope. Console manufacturers should do something like this to get higher clock speeds and better performance!
4.1ghz very uncommon with the ryzen cpu's most hit a hardwall where the thermals/power dont matter anymore around 3.9-4ghz which was a very big let down for old school amd fans
Not a tech enthusiast i take it..The day will come less you are wasting good hardware to play solitary..Besides that's amd's legacy being the first to 1ghz 2ghz 3ghz 4ghz 5ghz stock first to 6ghz 7ghz 8ghz overclocked.amd enthuisiast where hoping for this chip to be the first to 9ghz oc'd and atleast 5ghz stock major let down to find 5ghz cant even be achieved with high end cooling and an oc.
If you are having temp issues...find one of those old multi fan snap on fan units they made and wire it in. If you remember, they snap on the back of the 360 and plug in to the power port then you would plug your power supply into it.
You thought about putting a smaller fan below the big fan.. Have the big fan blowing in the smaller fan to pull out the air to Make it flow and stay cooler.
If you make big fan holes in things all the time, I'd recommend using something like Malco HC1 adjustable hole cutter. Having one has saved me so much time, hassle, and heartache.
Being someone who has started out gaming with the original Xbox and having not really gotten into PC gaming until last year, I'm having conflicting feelings towards the whole PC in an Xbox case because I've always been against people using keyboard and mouse on consoles but this isn't a console but looks like a console... I'm kidding around. This looks awesome man. Really creative. :D
I love videos like this, it was the best video about ryzen apu that I've seen so far, I hope you make more videos like these. And sorry my english, i'm brazilian :D
Acontece com todos corretor trola todo mundo :D O canal aqui e muito bacana, acompanho alguns br's também como os do Peperaio, Adrenaline etc, mas o canal do Timmy e realmente diferenciado, o cara e bom :)
Dude, you're like the (thinner) Matty Matheson of tech. You're funny, quirky, interesting, and most importantly, very talented at what you do. Keep it up and you should easily have a 100k+ audience very soon. Subscribed.
i found you from your gtx 280 video, and i have to say you have some of the best content for a "small" channel, i guarantee you're gonna blow up in subs! keep up the great vids
I just built a new PC with a Ryzen 5 1400 and a GTX 1050 and I am loving it just by the way this is a huge step up from my old PC which had an Intel Celeron G1620 and a AMD Radeon hd 7570 aswell as what I am guessing is a 5400 rpm hard drive because my new pc seems to download things faster even though all I have is a 7200 rpm hard drive not an ssd. And this is the first PC I have ever owned the other PC is a family computer. And I love being able to play games with my family now.
Reply to The Reaper95: oh that makes sense thanks for that interesting bit of information I don't think I would have found that out on my own. And I have fiber internet so that means I will really make use of all that extra bandwidth.
I have never been a big fan of your channel but you have my subscription after this. Fair play mate, the project is awesome and your delivery was a lot more powerful. I like the new style of intro :) wish you well fella.
this is the best xbox360 to pc conversion ive seen very tidy work, they usually smash the case clips, I'm impressed you got it all together solid, great job. ive seen people struggle to fit 1 ssd in the hdd bay without it popping back off, this dude is one little beast :D a big GG
Careful with the delid.. Brian on Tech Yes City tried it and just popping it off took some of the surface mount components close to the glue seal off..
been a fan of your channel for years, never got down to checking out this video. glad I did eventually, great work. PS. love the chillhop vibes inbetween
Did you have to perform a bios update/flash in order for it to work with the APU? Or did it come with a up to date bios when you purchased it? Did you purchase it through amazon?
It is so great seeing your channel grow. Literally from when I first found you on braille skateboarding to now I've watched all your videos! Keep up the good work!
I've been checking out the 2400G's gaming prowess lately because I think it's a nice, modest chip at $159 and I thought it would be nice to build a game console around it. And now look, I came across your video while checking out 2400G gaming videos. Good job! 👍
@pug sec - check "show more" on the descrption. the information and a link is in there. It doesn't say which song it is though, could be that Chuki hasn't put it up on youtube. I'm trying to find it now
Neither could I, much disappoint, as i'd like to add it to my collection. I'd even pay, despite that being anathema to me by the nature of my origin (yorkshireman) and of my nurture (lifelong pirate recently reformed)
I guess you could shove in some small cooling fans (40mm) into the back of the console and secure it with screws/zip ties to keep the temps down a degree or two. All in all a great project.
CoDMontageRadio gc I don’t think so the title is deceiving while yes I know it’d be impossible to make something run Xbox OS the title makes it seem like he’s made a computer do so I’m not special I am completely normal
Gravitron, I completely agree with you. It's quite annoying actually that he said "I made my own Xbox", cause he didn't! Come on. There was nothing really special about this. He just found parts small enough to fit into an old Xbox. That's it...
Dude I've subbed as soon as I heard delidding to gain more perf/ better temps... totally hooked on this project. Very good job mate! Regards from Slovenia ^^
Great build! Very clever of you. i also like to see a Channel creator going through the comments like liking them. Shows they care about the community.
alot of effort put into this, thanks for showing this amazing vid, those apus are getting better by the day. I think that if all you used was a controller and you still launched AAA games with 30fps, that would be a win for me.
Lmao the stickers where the icing on the cake! Make sure to dedicate at least 2GB of system RAM to the APU through the BIOS for more performance, if you haven't already done that. Love your videos m80.
There's actually much debate on that and how games allocate memory. The way I understand it is let's say you put in 8GB of 3200Mhz RAM in the system and both CPU and GPU pull from the same memory. In BIOS you set the GPU to have 2GB of that RAM and now your CPU can only use 6GB. Okay so now you open a program that requires a lot of CPU RAM and you hit the 6GB limit of that resource and the only fix is changing it in the BIOS to less VRAM being dedicated to the GPU only. So knowing that, when games exceed the buffer of the GPU they will use the CPU to dynamically allocate RAM up to the max the GPU is able to use in this case 2GB and while this hurts performance on traditional cards due to system memory being slower and lower bandwidth, the GPU inside the APUs is able to use it normally without any noticeable performance hit due to it being the exact same 3200Mhz DDR4 memory. So with all of that in mind if you set the buffer to like 64-256MB (or higher if a game demands that much to start), you can avoid that CPU crash and just let the system dynamically allocate the same resource to the APU. Hope this helps, and correct me if I'm wrong.
メデューカMeduka basically you're wrong about the two gigs. Just gimping your overall system. Sorry for typing so much, don't wanna overwhelm you with all these letters
I'm planning on doing a similar project now thanks to your video. I plan on slapping a small rad on the back possibly or making a power brick look a like rad for my cooling solution
I watched the video of you building it and even with the Ryzen cooler sticking out. When you said Wolfenstein New Colossus I was confused AF but then I realised
I'd of cut the cooler in half and then drilled a grid pattern of holes in the top of the case instead. That way you wouldnt have any visually noticeable modifications. I'd go with a underclock cpu if possible. Also I think i'd of tried to keep the external hard drive hot swapable instead of just internally wired. Another thing to consider is I think i'd of used the mounts for the mother board with hot glu instead of drilling into the case. Its a very cool idea that needs some refinement still.
Why you buy an xbox one: 1. You don't have enough money for a ps4 2. You want to play games 3. You want to surf in the internet 4. You want to have the case to make a new better xbox with Ryzen 5 2400g😂
Cutting a hole with a Dremel flat disc is like trying to do surgery with a fork. A cheap hole saw set that will make mincemeat of plastic costs about £7 here in the UK, and has all sizes included up to 120mm. Please get one.
Nice work man :D For the heat issue, just put 2 or 3 90mm Fan at the side. The problem is you have no direct exhaust. I guess atleast. Still very nice build!
Also xbox1 X doesn't actually have 4k graphics it's a all done by the processor I forget the term used but it's not true 4k what you've built actually crushes Xbox
Now if you went all the way of customizing the case you might as well delid the APU and reduce temps by 15°C or more if the gpu is OCed with the liquid metal.
i agree at 10:09 with delidding as a viable option of 10C temperature reduction. Also, you could consider using an LED to make the power button light up for the LOL's. you could also mod the front of the xbox 360 to accompany 2x 80mm fans since the front is about that width and the disc drive is useless anyways.
it looks alright, i thought i was clicking on a jayztwocentz thumbnail, but the video is pretty good you should work out which camera are you going to look at when you speak when you change the angle. Also there's some tidying in the editing that could be done, but over all it's pretty good, i subbed
Mini ITX in a old Nintendo NES, making a mini GTX 1080 Zotac Mini look like a game cartridge.
I love the 396707968% gpu usage XD
good eye!, i was more so focused on the fact its an actually usable device within a microsoft shell. actually makes xbox mean something for once
Hdmi port to plug in your controller?
You okay Timmy?
No not really. I think I had a stroke
Timmy Joe PC Tech you sure u didn't die for a second and came back and also new subscriber.

Lol using a console case is a pretty funny idea for a build.
Nobody in their right mind would steal something that looks like a 360.
The cooler has the Red Rings of Death.
I see what you did there... 🤣

-What's that? The infamous red ring of death?
-No sir! It's the red ring of rebirth as an AMD PC.
-Geee!
Gotta say I love how this thing looks and performs.
Me too
I don't love the look, just because it's in an original, white 360, but other than that.. :p
Ayyy it's Budget!
Agreed
Mee too mate
Looooooovvvveeddd this. Really cool project!
OzTalksHW thank you! Nice to see you here Ozzy.

VAC2 At 1080p thats fuck8nf amazing for an IGPU
Its an APU not a "IGPU" and yea it is amazing for a APU but no where near good enough for serious work loads or gaming.
Maybe a pc inside of a VHS reproductor?
Why are so many people obsessed using a vhs? Why not just make your own if you want to see that so badly. I see so many comments inside a vhs, why ?!!??? Whats so special about a vhs. Wha??😂😂
Bro, did u just say "HDMI on the front to put your controller"? Wow, I think u need a CPU upgrade for your body...
I absolutely love the way you use unconventional objects to aid you in your building. Lazy Susan for quick access and styrofoam to use as a drill buffer. Very very smart.
that intro was just art
The cooler sticking out the top actually looks dope. Console manufacturers should do something like this to get higher clock speeds and better performance!
well you win creativity. But mine is at 4.1ghz and cool ;)
hell naw. I hardlined cooled one for a show :)
4.1ghz very uncommon with the ryzen cpu's most hit a hardwall where the thermals/power dont matter anymore around 3.9-4ghz which was a very big let down for old school amd fans
Allen Brodess I personally don't need above 3.8

That freaking Red Ring blackout job on the Wraith is killing me. I freaking laughed out loud. That was perfect.

A small case fan might help with those temps
God, it'd have to be what, a 80mm? I personally wouldn't want to hear the high pitch whine of a fan that small.
No, what it wants is a cpu cooler with air pulling through into the case and out of that hole he has already cut.

Hope this helps, and correct me if I'm wrong.
m8, the essay wasn't necessary -.-
Not necessary...
メデューカMeduka basically you're wrong about the two gigs. Just gimping your overall system. Sorry for typing so much, don't wanna overwhelm you with all these letters
MAN!! You're such an underrated tech youtuber. Love your content, dude. Keep it up fam
you didnt tho did you.... you made a pc.... thats like having a child and telling everyone youve got a puppy
Geniusaur lol FK where is your imagination you son of a b****
way to get subs man...
chill dude lol
because everything ive said has been so unchill.....
nvm 😒
I'm planning on doing a similar project now thanks to your video. I plan on slapping a small rad on the back possibly or making a power brick look a like rad for my cooling solution
When someone says their ps4 is the best
this is the cleanest xbox--->PC build i have ever seen on youtube. if you find the time, a tutorial for this would be AMAZING!!!!!
Very Nice! I want to see the Halo edition!!
you could try putting 80mm fans on the opposite side from the hdd's, you could use them as a intake or something
You're very talented!
PIPPINGAMING shucks
I watched the video of you building it and even with the Ryzen cooler sticking out. When you said Wolfenstein New Colossus I was confused AF but then I realised
Loved it! Thanks for sharing !
144p squad
That so amazing, Xbox360 PC case look so pretty cool and it become more interesting with Xbox Controller! Wow! What a set!
Why you buy an xbox one:
1. You don't have enough money for a ps4
2. You want to play games
3. You want to surf in the internet
4. You want to have the case to make a new better xbox with Ryzen 5 2400g😂
Gaming_Blocks_HD An Xbox one costs more than a PS4
Superstar Roundhouse consoles ARE A JOKE IN GENERAL LUL
Lol I’m watching this on a Nintendo Wii 😀
Or we just Dont wanna play PlayStation 😐
Superstar Roundhouse computer gaming was before consoles
Cutting a hole with a Dremel flat disc is like trying to do surgery with a fork. A cheap hole saw set that will make mincemeat of plastic costs about £7 here in the UK, and has all sizes included up to 120mm. Please get one.
Nice work man :D For the heat issue, just put 2 or 3 90mm Fan at the side. The problem is you have no direct exhaust. I guess atleast. Still very nice build!
Really cool build, might I suggest, a few 60-80 mm fans maybe as exhaust, that might help keep things a bit cooler
Also, you could consider using an LED to make the power button light up for the LOL's. you could also mod the front of the xbox 360 to accompany 2x 80mm fans since the front is about that width and the disc drive is useless anyways.
it looks alright, i thought i was clicking on a jayztwocentz thumbnail, but the video is pretty good
you should work out which camera are you going to look at when you speak when you change the angle. Also there's some tidying in the editing that could be done, but over all it's pretty good, i subbed
