Nice video but some information in the video is incorrect. You no longer need to be qualified for 2 years as a pharmacist to be an ip. Most unis allow you to apply with less than 2 years experience. I did the pharmacy prescriber course and a pharmacist prescriber so can say that much. I don't think you can get into pharmacy with btec 😊anymore. I think the foundation option has been removed or the option to transfer from pharmaceuticals. That's what I heard at least. Also once you done the pre reg exam you know how hard pharmacy is. I know people who failed it 3 times and cannot be a pharmacist in the uk or ireland. In year 3 or 4 of pharmacy there is an osce that is really difficult and requires a person to get 70 to 80 percent and with no reg flag errors and needed full marks in calcs station and with calcs paper. I remember 20 people failed this in my year and got kicked out. I agree with this video that some people got kicked out in 1st year and 2nd. In pharmacy it's common to see people no longer with you each year. Even after you graduate from uni you're still stressed lol especially once a person does pre reg. Even once finishing pre reg.. you have a hard life becoming a prescriber. The prescriber course I wrote a logbook that was about 125 pages and a clinical essay on your area which i wrote 36 pages and an essay which was 10 pages... Plus there was a pharmacology exam which you needed to get above 80 percent for. Luckily I got above 95 percent in that. Also you had a calcs exam which you needed to get 5 out of 5 for. Also I believe one of the most important a levels to do for pharmacy is maths. You need a good understanding of mathematics to be good at it, especially in pre reg where you have a 40 calcs paper and require to do this in 2hrs and this calcs paper is not easy without good understanding of maths
@zoe-tb4cg also all unis do osces from 1st year to 3rd, some 4th there is no way of avoiding it. There is also a Calculation exam in 1st or 4th year. Since a big chunk of pharmacy is calculations.
@@sakuragi5160 hi sorry for the questions but would u say pharmacy is a good career to undertake for someone who has a passion for chemistry but doesn’t always perform at an A/A* level ? i’m very interested in this degree
I remember finding your channel when i was doing my gcses, and now i just finished my first year at uni. its actually crazy how time flies. almost 4 years but it feels like yesterday
I've been qualified as a pharmacist for nearly 10 years now but moved into industry a while back. I went to UCL, I wish we had videos like these to help us and guide us better back in those days. I'm sure this will be very helpful to those who are looking into this degree. My advice would be to always think outside the box, university doesn't always prepare you for the outside world. There is so much more you can do with our degree, just research and network early on and try out and experiment with different things. Keep up the good work.
could you elaborate with the other paths the degree can take you? also, how you got into industry? starting mpharm in sept so it would be really helpful x
I don’t know in other countries, but in Brazil (my country) as pharmacists we can work in cosmetics, federal police, and about 130 different areas I'm trying to go to college this year, and your videos are a great inspiration 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Im actually a medical student and not a pharmacy student but mennn was I happy to see a pop up notification on your new video and it's a 24mins own too ... I love what you do phedra ❤❤
this was perfect and timely! i was going to do medicine but i realised my interests aign way more with pharmacy and i can do so much with the degree as well! thanks for this video and for the section on interview prep
Omg so excited to hear about you learning German I recommend the Klett German A1 -B2 plus books, I go to a German school and I live in South Africa and these books are so good they are the perfect mix between grammar and vocab which I find difficult to do but these books really help viel Erfolg ❤
❤I am living in Germany and I’m doing a degree in pharmaceutical technical assistant and he have to learn pretty much the same thing 😂😂 (not as deep as pharmacy students). But the funny part is I choose it over a degree in university because I thought it would be easier then studying pharmacy😂😂😂😂 But regardless, as you seed only someone that is interested in pharmacy and all of that can actually made it look easy.
Smashing vlog! Proper informative. So, if you become a prescriber, can patients just show up to you, get diagnosed, and have you sort them with a prescription? Is that how it goes?
Hello My sister I'm in America and I've recently found your channel I'm currently in a nursing program and I see we have some of the same classes. I know you understand the struggle of it all...lol .. What I wanted to know is When you began your degree What courses did you struggle with and how did you over come it. Keep reaching for the stars 🌟 🤩 👍
Does switching pharmacy school early into year 1 and starting year 1 at a different uni reset the 8 year timer require to register as a pharmacist? Or will the eight year rule continue from the initial enrollment
Alot of you guys requested that I post this video again soo here it is if you have anymore questions about pharmacy please let me know

Hi, how and where do you apply for the pharmacy course around London.
Does switching pharmacy school early into year 1 and starting year 1 at a different uni reset the 8 year timer require to register as a pharmacist? Or will the eight year rule continue from the initial enrollment
Do we need to study math or physics for a level
you need chemistry a level
@@kcvdcbs I know but do we need to study maths or physics
@@ak_K7236 no just chemistry
Preferably maths
If I study Alevel maths and chemistry with an unrelated btec, will I still have a chance at studying pharmacy?
First comment i Like your Videos
