I used to watch Iowa country girl videos for the longest time, until she announced she would no longer be making videos. So this might be my new farm videos channel to watch.

That’s a great machine! The front wheel I believe came in later models (1965 and later). It’s great to see the optional 5th rollobar installed (yes it was optional) and to see y’all installed teeth in all the optional slots as well! Quite the machine for sure!
From observation Joseph know’s what he’s doing! Disengaging the short PTO shaft for non-raking travel. I’ve been told many people had to rebuy the gears and even PTO shaft from not disengaging and stowing the shaft correctly for travel down roads.
That’s the first I’ve seen still have the reflective tape and nice lettering on it! Great job taking care of it!

Grew up in the 1960's and we never had any piece of machinery sit out in the weather. My dad's thoughts were always if you cannot keep it under roof, you should not own it. I think it was because he grew up so poor, so he had more appreciation for equipment. I remember we had a neighbor who bought a new Ford three -point sicklebar mower and it always sat out in the weather. It really bothered him. Just how his mind worked. As an adult every year when I go to the tractor pulls at our local fair, I really notice the difference between tractors that sit out and those that are barn or shed kept.

Just an observation when greasing a machine it's good practice to wipe the zerks before greasing or there is a chance you might pump dirt dust etc into the bearings 👍 nothing wrong with using older farm equipment far less to go wrong with it 🙂 also an old mechanic told me many years ago changing the oil in a machine is the best an cheapest maintenance you can do, stay safe and well 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

And always pump the grease in slowly. Our AC guy at the local school district I worked at for 35 years always said that. He said he was taught in the Tech. school he attended that you grease bearings slowly, always.
