Great old school tips I had a disc mower with a bad seal an put the grease to it just to get by the season worked fine my granddad told me this back in the day with final drives on old dozers good to see yea on RUclips again watching yea from West Virginia take care
Fabulous! My basket on my 256 Rolabar stopped turning out in the field last year, probably going to have to do this rebuild, and I know I’ll be referring to your video big time when I do this, really appreciate this!
Great vid Dave, its good NH still has parts available for their equipment though some parts are kind of expensive. Im currently rebuilding a NH 450 sickle mower top to bottom.
Thanks for the Video. Very well explained. I have to do the same with my 56. Cant find new gears. All I can locate is used ones. Do you have a website for the parts. Thanks
Seems there would be a inch-pound torque spec for those bearing preloads. The same way you do when building a differential and setting preload on the pinion nut. Its not hard to measure.
00 grease probably would work pretty good in there also, but seems a little harder to find around here, at least for me, and about $20 a bottle where I get it.
Your videos helped me out a lot on my IH 444 question thinking quick change from bucket to forks,, the pressure does not hold allied 350 forks any suggestion? no leaks
Do you have a part number for the seals??? We have the same problem an have to replace berings an races an seals... we can not find the seals.. any info would be appreciated...thanks in advance...
I’ve seen your other vids about IH 444 and the other models and they’ve helped me out alot. Im gonna change hydraulic pump in my ih 444, and the instructions say that I need to open the ”over pressure valve”, dont know what it is called in english.. And then run the engine for 30 minutes. Then adjust it so I get the right pressure. I cant find where I can adjust this.. Hope you know what I mean..
@@CanadianRedneck15 That had not even crossed my mind. The instructions is in a note that i got with the pump when I ordered it. It may be generic instructions? Do you think I just can change the pump and then run the tractor as normal?
@@MeKaLMeKaL I would say that yes those are just generic instructions. Change your pump, top up the hydraulic reservoir and let the tractor idle for 5-10 minutes, check your levers for function and if everything seems fine you're good to go.

Absolutely, doesn't matter how good a machine is if you can't get parts when it breaks! Thanks for watching!

It's possible, I don't have a manual for the rake. Thanks for watching!
Great video there Dave

Thumbs up Dave.
Thanks MB.
Dave. Wondering why you didn’t load each barring with grease like a wheel barring ????
Hi Mark, these bearings run in gear oil so no need to pack them. Thanks for watching!

You have oil leaking by, either the valve or the lift cylinders will need rebuilt. Thanks for watching!
@@CanadianRedneck15 valve would be it, just replaced one cyl,

You can find the numbers on the Ford/NewHolland website parts lookup. Thanks fro watching!
Good day from Ont. Boy interesting video. Yea my dad always oil is cheap, compared to new parts. What did everything cost ? Thanks
The gears were the expensive part but parts total came in around $700-800. Thanks for watching!
Very informative video! Approximately how many dollars (Canadian or US) did you spend rebuilding the gearbox?
I took the four bolts holding the gearbox on the rake and I can not get it to slide off the rake
Did you also remove the reel from the hub? If all else fails use a bigger hammer. Thanks for watching!
The wind blowing into the mike is hard on the ears. 😏
Yeah, wind sucks.
What wind?
Why not grease the bearings when they were installed
Because they are meant to run in gear oil. Thanks for watching!

Is that in a manual for a 444 or just generic instructions? As far as I know you just change the pump and make sure it has oil.

How do you plan to put on rake 😂😂
I don't, the customer just brought the gear box. Thanks for watching!
