The music from Sandopolis Zone Act 1 from Sonic 3 and Knuckles but deconstructed and shown via oscilloscope. Enjoy! This was the first track I've seen that uses PSG but not all of the PSG channels.

true sandopolis act 2’s bassline is the best

Ghost: Hey there broski! ARE YOU PREPARED TO MEET YOUR DEITY?
It's interesting just how different S&K songs are from S3 songs as they don't feature the 8 bit channels nearly as much
Idk why they dont use them they would literally have more channels to use afterall
@@SilverBirb They're greatly limited, as the square chip channels don't really make a variety of instruments and the chip noise only really works for hi-hats and such
A lot of sonic 3 was made by MJ. The first half of sonic 3 wasn’t touched and doesn’t feature nearly as much as the MJ songs. He also left cause his music didn’t sound right on genesis hardware. They probably pushed the sound chip really hard to make it sound accurate, hence the increased amount of PSGs
@@Fluxuation Actually, it's more widely accepted and evidenced that he didn't touch any of the S&K tracks, as they use almost no samples, don't make use of a particular motif apparently common to Jackson tracks, and loop differently than Jackson's team's works. If I remember correctly, Flying Battery Zone is the only S&K track that was touched by Jackson's team, which makes since given its original placement in the zone order.
@@ryanprower4246 flying battery was not touched by Jackson. If it was, it wouldn’t be in mania. It also didn’t have its theme replace in S&K collection or origins. A similar myth with marble garden, as that one was also not touched by Jackson but many believed it was.
god why does sonic music have such jammin basslines
because Michael Jackson composed them ;)
Its the genesis. Why wouldn't it sound so good?
@@reallyblue Michael didn’t compose this song... I’m sick and tired of people exaggerating Michael’s involvement with the soundtrack, he only did 5 tracks at most, and those are all in sonic 3, not sonic and knuckles
@@reallyblue i believe not just only michael jackson but whole SEGA team just like Jun Senoue Sachio Ogawa and many more SEGA japanese team compose this
Because *they’re all so s t a n k y*
1:16 spooky...
Act 2’s bass sounds 10 times more sinister and I love it

Spooky!
03:47 A reminder that this is easily one of the best thematic zone related pieces of music ever. Retro Sonic does this so well and goes all out, so detailed - Adore this ! (The 04:15 sound is so Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Love it!)
1:29 that bass slaps
Am I living in a desert?
4:15 EVERYBODY NOW!!
I really love the guitar in act 1 and 2 1:29
Bassline*
Who you gonna call?
The pope
Sandbusters!
That isn't until Act 2, dweeb.
luigi
Sand patrol
1:28 Sounds just like Marble Garden Act 2's bass guitar.
Silver Sonic 1992 it might be. They probably reuse instrument samples to save on cartridge storage.
Let's remember that Green Hill does the same for other songs...
@@JNSStudios the Sega Genesis sound system was mostly not sample based. It was rather an internal synthetizer along with a PSG (that makes simple bleeps) and the DaC channel - only the DAC channel played samples. The usual music instrument preset was a patch informing how to combine simple waveforms to make an instrument, so instrument presets were not big in bytesize even for the standards of that time. So they didn't make a difference in cartridge space really, opposed to actual samples that did usually took more memory.
Act 2 is lower
The baseline for sandopolis actually has the same pattern as Marble garden in both acts. Even though Marble Gardens baseline is a bit lower pitch, I wouldn't blame you if you thought otherwise. They do have some similarities.
1:29
obligatory drum and bass timestamp
Amazing bassline
Ooh, just need Lava Reef and Sky Sanctuary!
Wow , my like
1:29 this is the real intro of deconstructed Sandopolis Theme
Channel 1: sick bass 1:30
Aww man. I wanna hear PSG 0 by itself!
I absolutely love the classic sonic soundtracks and these deconstructs made me love them more! You can hear the depth and complexity just playing the games but seeing them broken down like this is amazing 😊
Have I told you how much I love your channel?
This music rocks a lot. I love this music so much
this is a metal song
Amazing!
I'm very grateful if someone makes this chart for games on clone heroes with act 2 at once and also a full band🙏
Anyone else notice a similarity between 1:57 onward and the Chao Garden music?
That bassline is so great dammit
Let's GOOOOO also that act 1 boss was weird
I never even would have realized that this song had PSG until now.
Jurassic Park 5 (2006) Sandopolis Zone
also known as, Egypt Zone
I clicked on this instantly.sandopolis is my favourite in sonic 3&k
Define “uses PSG but not all of the PSG channels”
Nice! I am requesting Lava Reef Act 1&2.
Best musica uwu
1:28
Oooooh me likey
what do you use for these Oscilloscope Deconstructions
B w o u p
Nice
That trumpet sample…. THAT FUCKING TRUMPET SAMPLE…. WHERE IS IT….. 0:13
Mono Is Much better for single Speaker things as it lets you hear more instruments And Stereo is good for headphones or Surround Sound !
I will watch this because I respect the work you do and the music deconstruction is awesome, but Sandopolis is one of my least favorite S3&K Zones
Hate the zone,love the music
Yo! Death Egg next (maybe?)
MY SAND CASTLEEEEE 1:40

One of Sonic 3 & Knuckles few UNREDEEMABLE qualities was *this level...* act 1 was a bit of a slog but wasn’t too bad all things considered, but act 2 is an absolute PAIN! Any time I replay S3&K I turn off the game when I reach this zone, and only hesitantly come back later, which is a shame because the rest of the game after Sandopolis is good again
Yeah, Act 2 is slow and FREAKING BIG!
I used to hate it but strangely enough now I don't mind it so much since I always know exactly how to get through it. I don't think that really excuses it though... not a very good zone.
* puts on a white shirt *
You really know how to mix, don't you?Make a gotdang sonic remix already, before I slap you
Don't bloody swear
This part though 1:29
I hate this zone
