A lot of sonic 3 was made by MJ. The first half of sonic 3 wasn’t touched and doesn’t feature nearly as much as the MJ songs. He also left cause his music didn’t sound right on genesis hardware. They probably pushed the sound chip really hard to make it sound accurate, hence the increased amount of PSGs

@@JNSStudios the Sega Genesis sound system was mostly not sample based. So they didn't make a difference in cartridge space really, opposed to actual samples that did usually took more memory.
The baseline for sandopolis actually has the same pattern as Marble garden in both acts. Even though Marble Gardens baseline is a bit lower pitch, I wouldn't blame you if you thought otherwise. They do have some similarities.
I absolutely love the classic sonic soundtracks and these deconstructs made me love them more! You can hear the depth and complexity just playing the games but seeing them broken down like this is amazing 😊
One of Sonic 3 & Knuckles few UNREDEEMABLE qualities was *this level...* act 1 was a bit of a slog but wasn’t too bad all things considered, but act 2 is an absolute PAIN! Any time I replay S3&K I turn off the game when I reach this zone, and only hesitantly come back later, which is a shame because the rest of the game after Sandopolis is good again
I used to hate it but strangely enough now I don't mind it so much since I always know exactly how to get through it. I don't think that really excuses it though... not a very good zone.
i can't wait to hear act 2 and suffer from anxiety
true sandopolis act 2’s bassline is the best

It's interesting just how different S&K songs are from S3 songs as they don't feature the 8 bit channels nearly as much
Idk why they dont use them they would literally have more channels to use afterall

god why does sonic music have such jammin basslines
because Michael Jackson composed them ;)

Silver Sonic 1992 it might be. They probably reuse instrument samples to save on cartridge storage.
Let's remember that Green Hill does the same for other songs...
