Fr I’m on the verge of tears watching this truly a devastating loss for the hockey community. I don’t want to begin to imagine how the family feels it’s incomprehensible.
Even as a Stars fan, I'm glad I had this pop up in my recommended. We all miss Johnny Hockey. Dude was an absolute beast, and he was one of my favorite players to watch. He was one of the most exciting offensive weapons I've ever watched. Such a damn shame I never got to see him live. Rest in peace Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau.
Heartbreaking indeed. I was blessed to see him live when he was with the CBJ last season. Was cheering on my Oilers. If I stand correct it was when Oilers made history on that 16th game win streak. I saw Johnny get robbed by my Skinner on a breakaway. He will surely be missed
Johnny B Goode Nothing can replace the void you left Johnny. We will always love you ❤❤ we will Never forget you❤❤ we will always temper Johnny Hockey 🏒
Not the go Johnny go. 😭😭😭😭😭 woke up heartbroken and couldn’t get out of my head. Decided to skip school that day. R.I.P. Johnny Hockey we all loved you so much and you and your brother didn’t deserve this.
Can’t believe this was the highlight of that era with the Flames. More so it’s impossible to think this was the highlight moment of Johnnys career. RIP Mat and John.
remains Johnny Hockey's finest moment in a career filled with them. Still heartbroken that it all got cut tragically short. RIP Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau
I’m gonna be rewatching this video for a long time. I haven’t been able to stop watching clips since he and Matthew died, I wasn’t expecting it to hit me this hard. This moment was it, the happiest I’ve been as a fan. Wish I could’ve been at the dome, but celebrating with a European flames fan at a bar in the northeast was special too. I keep walking down to the memorial by the dome. I’m glad what I’m feeling is mutual with not just Calgarians but from people everywhere. Edmontonians included. And I’m glad Matthew is getting the recognition he deserves too, both gone way way too soon because some asshat chose to drink and drive. Thank you for uploading this, I was looking for crowd videos for a long time
I can't stop thinking about it. I'm a Leafs fan not a Flames fan but this is hitting me harder than I thought it would, living in Calgary I've been to many Games while he was a part of the team and have been honored to watch him and what he brought for the Flames and the City of Calgary. He loved playing in front of the C of Red and I personally believe he never wanted to leave. I hope he joins the many Hockey Legends who have left us, and hope the Flames raise his 13 up to the rafters.
@@NHLlivegoals from what I read, the primary reason he left Calgary was so he could live closer to the other members of his family (parents and siblings). Says a lot about the person he was off the ice, in addition to what we all could see on the ice. RIP Johnny and Matt Gaudreau. I'm not a Flames or CBJ fan, but I do hope both teams raise his 13 to the rafters.
This is my 2nd faverote nhl goal of all time Becuse the horn goes then the base of tnt straight after the horn just sounds so amazeing it sounds so epic
Was at the first game when Johnny came back to calgary as a Blue Jacket. Also saw him get a hatrick and 3 assist I think against the Devils in 2019. I have a photo with him and 2 signitures that ill keep forever.
My section was chanting his name for a minute straight, I’m glad this was the last time I saw my idol in person play, it’s fitting, for me this is how his story ended, a hero R.I.P Mr hockey❤️
@@official_rown Blame the urban planning that prioritizes Cars above all else. Why wasn't Johnny and Matthew protected as Cyclists like how they would be in Europe?!
@@coastaku1954 he wasn't in an "urban" area and the roads outside of city/town centers in Europe are no different for cyclists than the ones in the US (I've traveled extensively in eight European countries. Even in Europe, cars are everywhere and even areas with cycling lanes in cities, most have nothing more than a line painted on the pavement at the edge of the vehicle lane).
I always thought that videos filmed in HD shouldn't contain dead people, because I tend to associate the dead with things from the past. But one thing that I've learned from this is that videos filmed in the past, regardless of when they were filmed, are filmed in the past. There are probably a few fans in this video that passed, as time does to people, but here and now we focus on Johnny Hockey. A life taken too soon by a man who should have his driving and military privileges revoked. He, and the bar that gave him the alcohol, should be punished for a long time.
I don't enjoy watching things like this. It makes me upset knowing someone's life was taken away from them and knowing that the person who did this will get off the hook lightly. This should be life in prison. DUIs need to be enforced with an even greater penalty to lessen the chances of this from happening again. Criminal justice system is a joke.
This hits different nowadays.
It was devastating. I was heartbroken on Friday morning.

I was just at the candle light vigil. God I’m going to miss Johnny so much
You can't even hear the goal horn from how loud it got.
Rest in Peace Johnny.
Dammit Gaudreau was so good. I didn’t appreciate him enough while we had him.

RIP Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau :(
RIP Johnny Hockey & Matty Gaudreau. Put that #13 on a banner in the rafters there in Calgary and Columbus
just unreal, some selfish idiot took the lives of two incredible people. may him and his brother rest in peace
Don't forget to blame the bar who gave him the alcohol, too. They played as much a part as the man did.

Not only does this suck in general because I wouldn’t wish this upon anyone but man, he was truly one of the good ones so it hurts so much more.
Amazing.
There's only one Johnny Hockey
Now I know why this was in my recommendations 😢
I was at the red lot that night. Rest in peace Johnny

Proof that he was at a bar? Just BC someone was DUI does not necessarily mean they were at a bar immediately beforehand
