Actress's nowadays are no where near as glamorous as they were back then
Agreed
Truly one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Way before my time, but that kind of beauty is timeless.
She was absolutely stunning and an incredible actress. I really appreciated this upload. I love old Hollywood. No one does it better than Scott!
🙏❤️🕊️
Rita, one of the all time great beauties of the silver screen. May she rest in peace.
My Mom just passed away from Alzheimer's. It is a tragic disease. But she remember all 5 of us kids right up until she passed away. At least we had that comfort. She couldn't really speak a few weeks before the end. But once she reached that point she didn't linger in pain and slowly starving. IDK if people realize that happens. People with this disease usually quite literally slowly starves to death. Unless they have a stroke or a heart attack first. But at first they forget to eat. Then they forget that they're hungry and will NOT eat for anything. Then they stop drinking. And then the end isn't far away. Mom was gone in less than a week. We were blessed in that respect. My prayers go out to all who are suffering with Alzheimer's. And their families. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
Sorry for the loss of your mom.Blessings to you and your family 🙏💓🌈
❤
My grandpa just passed from dementia and it was like he just sat down in his chair one day and wouldn’t open his eyes for a week until they moved a hospital bed in they moved him to that and he passed away there but it was like he slipped into a coma or something or he forgot how to open his eyes
Bless you and your family. My Mother passed the same way. Unfortunately she had no idea I was her daughter. Horrible illness that needs way more research.😭
I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. 💔
God gave you such an amazing voice and a gift for storytelling, Scott. I kid you not; I could sit and listen to you describe paint drying and ask for more when you were done.
I was named Rita because my Mother just loved Rita Hayworth. I hope she rests in peace.
Beautiful Rita Hayworth...beautiful resting place. Phenomenal actress and dancer who did not have an easy life. Many people don't, but her life was exceptionally difficult in many ways. The grave is simple, but it's in a beautiful spot. Rest in peace, Rita Hayworth 🌹
Definitely, beautiful.

Her gravesite fits her caracter, because she was a very shy and she did not like the spotlight. She became one of the greatest star that Holywood ever produced but the fame came at a high price por her.
Wow! I wish there were more "matured" pictures of her. She was just as dreamy in her 60s as she was in her 20s! One could only hope to be that beautiful in their later life ❤
Alzheimers is a devastating disease. My Mom died from Vascular Dementia and either disease I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Rita was a brilliant actress I loved her movies.
She maintained her beauty..Just a stunning woman
Rita Hayworth was a beautiful lady. What a hard life she endured when she was young, and she kept going forward. Alzheimer's is a cruel and tragic disease for the one who has it and the people who care about them. It is so sad that Beautiful Rita Hayworth went undiagnosed for so long. RIP Beautiful Rita, you will never be forgotten.
Thanks, Scott - informative & poignant, as always. I remember the disheveled photo of her from the mid-70s as a teen reading the paper & was disturbed. No one knew of Alzheimer's & I wasn't sure she was drunk...it was a sad, mysterious spectacle of a glorious star. She sure had a rough time of it throughout her life. Rest in peace indeed, lovely Rita.
Great tribute. I always felt bad about her Alzheimer's. She was so beautiful . Oh, and I love your Edmund Fitzgerald shirt. 🙂
My brother had it at 58, and past at 68 last year....God bless her. I liked alot of her work....
Sorry for the loss of your brother. Blessings to you and your family 🙏💓🌈
@@laurastrobel718 Thank you....

Scott, I own the tole chandelier from Harlow 's death house. I bought it directly from the owners. I have never rewired it but hope to one day. I didn't know Rita lived there. You are always very informative and entertaining.
My mom also had Alzheimer’s. It’s the most horrible disease. My heart goes out to Rita’s daughter. My sister and I …and our families, know how it feels to witness your wonderful mom turn into someone else. It’s heartbreaking and horrifying. Our mom passed away in 2021.
Never forget how good a dancer she was, too.
Rest in peace Rita 🦋 ✝️
I happened to be there the day of Hayworth's funeral. We were standing in tier ABOVE the gravesite, looking down. MANY paparazzi were around us snapping away. But I did stand at the bank of rocks overlooking the ceremony. Famed choreographer Hermes Pan, Glenn Ford, and Ricardo Montalban were among the pallbearers. It was quite the circus of hundreds in attendance. I only wish I took photos. The era of no 'smart phones'.
The era of no smart phones. A much better era, in my opinion.
She was a beautiful, talented and strong woman. Every time I see her, I think of my Grandmother who looked very much like Rita when she was young.
She was a special actress. Thanks for telling part of her story.
Hi Scott, really enjoying the Broadcasts. Very tasteful presentations, Thank you.📿
She had young onset Alzheimer’s. If she was having these symptoms at 61…wow that’s horribly sad 😢 RIP Rita you were an absolute legend ❤
She was probably an alcoholic for some time.
I heard it started in her late forties, my friend is a nurse and sometimes early onset brain issues start right after age 40.
My aunt swears that Dementia is caused by alcoholism I say no but I'm not a Neurologist. My Mother was diagnosed with Dementia, she drank but was not a raging drunk or anything.
@@brian-ld4vdthere’s a disease that is caused by alcoholism that mimics Alzheimer’s. By the way Alzheimer’s / dementia is now being classed as Type 3 Diabetes . Comes from a diet of high carbohydrates and sugars . A proper keto diet is being made known to slow or reverse dementia and or Alzheimer’s .
@@brian-ld4vd Probably depends on individual genetics. Alcohol is prolly a factor for some.
Stunning! RIP Rita!
Rita is buried in a beautiful place. RIP
Another great video Scott. Ill always remember her name from the "Vogue song" by Madonna.
Me too "Rita Hayworth gave good face!" She was so beautiful. Rip Rita 🦋
Seeing the inside of the house was so cool!
Your weather looks so beautiful today Scott , cool in my neck of the woods. I love these old Hollywood videos about the stars of yester year. Sad life for her as a child though.
Rita was beautiful. Thank you Scott for sharing everything you've learned about the famous and infamous.
I happened to be at Rita's funeral that day. I was standing just atop those rocks above Hayworth's grave. I had birdseye view of the precession - Glenn Ford, Ricardo Montalban, Cesar Romero, Hermes Pan, etc. Memorable send-off.❤
When I first read about Ms.Hayworth's "strange" behavior,I thought there was something "physical" affecting her thinking, not drugs nor alcohol. Her daughter,Jasmine, was very supportive of her and emphasized the overwhelming effects of Alzheimer's Disease in the process.
Rita Hayworth was so beautiful and a mesmerizing dancer. I would even say she had to be Astaire's best partner. I remember when these public scenes would happen in the 1970s and they would call her drunk or crazy. It was sad. She had a decades long love affair with Glenn Ford.
I always liked the inscription 'To yesterday's companionship and tomorrow's reunion '
Life never really ends -- we just live it in another realm after we finish here.
I had always wondered what happened to her. I always knew she had a rough life but did not know what happened to her leading up to her death.
So incredibly sad that she got Alzheimer's so young.
As a woman in my mid to late forties, thank you for saying a “matured” looking photo of Rita. Women are vilified for god forbid, aging; I think “matured” is an elegant term for we aging, aged ladies. Xo
She was my favorite from those days. Absolutely beautiful.
Scott: do you remember when you were in the Bern-Harlow house -- was the huge Elizabethan mural of Jean and other stars still there? Bern had this huge mural painted of Jean and her pals dressed in Elizabethan clothes sitting at a feast. Thank God Rita had such a devoted daughter to take care of her in those awful final years. Also, how many people know that Orson Welles fathered a son with Maila Nurmi aka Vampira! She gave the kid up for adoption.
Young people will know her more for > "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption". (too long for the movie so they shortened it). Thanks Scott another awesome tribute.👍
It took me a minute but I get the Shawshank redemption reference! Makes me want to see the movie, and see the poster now that I know more about her. She was a star before my time. Jordan I love how you bring up names of Stars and then give their story! Excellent work, as usual!
She was so beautiful. What a sad story.
Thank you scott
Just what I needed at the end of the Monday-est Tuesday ever!
She was stunning her whole life. I’m a big fan of Orson Welles and I recall reading a book about him where he stated there that she was deeply broken by her childhood and that was the downfall of their marriage. I get it, I myself manage Complex PTSD due to my own troubled childhood and every day is a conscious effort. In that day, I just can’t imagine how one could get through that without being broken. I think she became an alcoholic just to keep herself “sane,” that’s actually very common with this kind of thing.
I think that she had a very strange relationship to sex and sexuality. I think the violence in her youth formed her, then she grew up a sex symbol and I’m sure that was a major source of contention in her life. Much love to Rita, I hope she’s now in peace.
Thank you,for such a concise, well expressed perspective regarding PTSD and its effects on a human being's mental and physical states. My PRAYERS for ALL people who experienced such difficult trials during their lives.
Thank you for your efforts to show final resting places of the famous. One criticism:
Please be respectful of other graves-you appear to have your feet on her neighbor's grave stone while showing her stone.
It’s so sad, my father died of Alzheimer’s at 83, my mother passed at 101 yrs. old just shy of 102 yrs. Old of dementia and Covid
Hard way to go. 😔
Rita Hayworth glamorous old Hollywood a classy lady gone too soon Ty Scott for sharing beautiful Rita with us may she rip👏🇨🇦🇨🇦😔
Such a beautiful spray on top of Rita's casket. I remember reading that Rita had divulged the horrible secret of her youthful physical and sexual abuse to Orson, who later reluctantly admitted that it was true to someone that was asking. Wonderful how her daughter Yasmine was by her side, looks like she was a good mom despite her past trauma. Thanks Scott. RIP Rita 💐💖🕊️🌈
Also the abuse/sexual abuse from her own father.

Hi Scott, did you know the L.A. mansion that Rita shared with her husband Orson Welles is now owned and occupied by actress Ruta Lee? It sure is. There are videos on RUclips of interviews Ruta has given where she gives the camera (and viewers) a really cool tour of the mansion which is very much as it was when Rita and Orson lived there. The place is VERY Rita Hayworth so say the least.
Was Ruta Lee a "Vanna White" type co-hostess on a game show in the 1970s ?
Ruta was also in some movies, most notably in "Witness for the Prosecution" with Ty Power and Marlene Dietrich. I won't describe her part because it would a spoiler alert lol. Just watch the movie and you'll see her, her character is important to the plot.
Ruta is a very dear lady. She co-chaired, with Debbie Reynolds, the Cedars-Sinai Thalians mental health charity gala, for many years. This very worthy group has gone through major transitions in the past years. Not really sure what the focus is now?
She was so absolutely beautiful!
Nice work. Fame, fortune, glamorous lifestyle. Unfortunately nothing lasts forever. Eat , drink and be merry.
The glamorous lifestyle is what WE get to see. Behind it could be perfect hell. And it was, for Rita, in many ways. Hope she's eternally happy and loved where she now is.
Wow
Early Dementia
68 so young to pass
She was beautiful
Very interesting
Thank you
What a very sad life for such a wonderful woman. She didn't seem to catch too many good breaks.
I noticed while visiting that cemetery that the graves are on the modest side, Ricardo Montalban and Bing Crosby are there also. By the way you totally cracked me up at the 10 minute mark when you were reading the wrong article at first. Love you Scott!
God Bless those generous people who allowed you to enter their house to take pictures
to share with those of us who loved these stars.👍
What a beautiful woman and great actress and dancer. I love all the old movies. RIP RITA ❤
Love your t-shirt. I’ve always been fascinated by the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald!
Glenn Ford's last words had me teary-eyed and smiling.
Thanks again for your meaningful work. 🙏
She was born and raised and passed away in NYC. And lived there most of her life. Why was she buried in Culver City instead of NYC?
I would think Rita Hayworth would have an extravagant grave stone. She was a great beauty.
Best channel on RUclips right here.
Cool Fitz T-shirt!
Very nice job Rita Hayworth is one of my favorite actresses in old Hollywood movies
I really enjoy all of Scott and Troy's video presentations and painstakingly keep the commercials rolling and leave the room. I didn't know she and Orson Wells were married! Happy Thanksgiving to all and especially to those who are binge watching Dearly Departed videos. 💗
Thanks for the kind words. And thank you so much for understanding how things work.
Great video!!! Love your Edmund Fitzgerald t shirt.
Rita Hayworth and most certainly Yasmin hold an important place in my heart. I recall reading and seeing on Television some of what Rita’s illness had been like. Yasmin played an integral role in bringing a broader awareness to a group founded in the early 80’s,The Alzheimer’s Association, serving on the board. Soon after Rita passed in May of 1987 I received a phone call that my father was ill, doctors calling it Alzheimer’s. I got my plane ticket to go be with him then called information to get the number of the Alzheimer’s Association that I just heard being spoken of by Yasmine in interview after Rita’s death. They were so kind on the phone and sent out right away a packet of information to me. Horrible illness, as are many the dementias we know more about now, but I still remember how grateful I was then, before much was know, to be armed with the education and support from The Alzheimer’s Association, and from in a way, these two incredibly strong women, who were thrown into a then less understood disease.
I would love to have a martini at that bar! Your videos are the best! Thanks for another great one.
Shawshank Redemtion ❤
Her daughter worked very hard to get Alzheimer's accepted as a legitimate diagnosis that insurance would cover costs of care for....including Medicare.
ALTHOUGH I'M A GAL FROM THE VERY EARLY 70'S I DID WATCH SOME MOVIES SHE WAS IN I HEARD OF THAT NAME. WOOOW LIVING IN YOUR OWN SHADOW OF YOUR FORMER SELF MUST'VE BEEN HARD.
I recall when during her later years she was arrested for shoplifting toiletries in Florida and the tabloids all ran pics of her looking really disheveled and seriously out of it and thought, "leave that poor woman ALONE!" Interestingly, in the 1964 John Wayne film CIRCUS WORLD she played his former love who had declined into alcoholism; but her character made a stunning comeback and she was again her old self as she reunited with Wayne and their daughter [Claudia Cardinale] she never knew. It's a pretty good movie that's too-often overlooked these days!
Rita magical on screen Fred Astaires favorite dance partner when she first showed signs of altzimers it was denied so people thought she had turned crazy but it was all signs of Alzheimer’s beautiful Rita rest in peace🙏❤️
Stunning and most beautiful i remember all her movies especially seeing GILDA WITH Glenn Ford , so sad 😢her life had to become such detactment with alzheimers 😢Rip Rita Hayworth 🙏💔😢🥀
😢 WOW! What a beautiful lady and actress thanks for remembering and sharing this story!❤
Scott can you please do a video about Dorothy Stratten. Please!!!
I took care of a lady in her 90s with advanced Alzheimer's. She would hallucinate. She lived in a two-story house, and we were sitting downstairs in her living room when she suddenly complained that the "people upstairs are making too much noise." Rather than try to argue that there wasn't anyone up there, I walked to the base of the staircase and yelled, "Hey, quiet down up there!" Then, I managed to distract her so she would no longer focus on it.
On another occasion, we were sitting on her sofa and across the room was a bureau with a mirror. She suddenly announced that flames were coming out of the mirror. So, I threw a towel over it to "smother" them.
I found that as long as it was safe to do so, playing along worked best when she hallucinated. Others have disagreed with me, saying that's not the right way to handle those situations. Those disagreeing weren't psychologists, doctors or psychiatrists. And neither am I. I did what worked.
Love the Edmund Fitz shirt !!! She was so beautiful. ❤
May She rest in PEACE...
Her dad was a monster. Shame on him.
Rita Hayworth and Orson Welles' daughter is Rebecca Welles. She had a son whom she gave up for adoption at her mother's insistence. I believe that's correct. Searching for Orson is a documentary that recounts all of this.
God bless everyone who deals with a parent or any loved one with Alzheimer’s. Such a heartbreaking disease.
Such a beautiful woman , such a tragic ending. One of my favorite actresses🤗
I remember my mom talking alot about her .she was a good actress .my mom loved her .well I'm 72 so you know how long ago that was...thank you for your videos ❤
Thank you for this video.
Princess Yasmin strongly resembles her beautiful mama!
That shirt is fantastic and this years remembrance will be even more poignant with the passing of Gordon Lightfoots this year
Love your videos, easily one of the best channels on youtube :)
Love your shirt! My husband would love it too. His favorite song is the Edmond Fitzgerald.
Had such a crush on her when i first saw her in The Strawberry Blonde
One of my favorite actresses. I share my birthday with her. was born 17 October 1981. Rita Hayworth was born 17 October 1918. Wonderful actress and dancer.
Scott, I hope when your time comes, one of these 'Cemeteries of the Famous' will give you a nice, free plot. For all the formation you mine from these places, and how well you showcase and present the beauty of them, you will have certainly earned it ! :)
He's going to be cremated and already bought a place for his ashes in a glass case mosaliam(s) in Hollywood, it's full of famous folks and Scott will fit right in.
Great video scott thanks for sharing this with us
Love your T-Shirt, greetings from Nova Scotia Canada
She and Glenn Ford lived nextdoor to each other in Beverly Hills and they were at each other's houses all the time
I would love to know who does the casket saddles for the stars there, over the top, what a classy farewell for Rita. I worked as a retired florist in Nashville and had to do a few myself.
Love the shirt from Duluth Mn.!
RIP to an iconic talent.
I love the inscription on her stone.
Loved this thank you ❤
Sad…. Thanks for sharing.
