  • Blue Ocean Strategy is the best-selling book which launched a worldwide revolution in business strategy. Challenging the conventional competition based approaches to business strategy, Blue Ocean Strategy focuses on making the competition irrelevant by creating uncontested market spaces, instead of trying to beat it. It is based on a decade long study of 150 strategic moves spanning more than 30 industries over 100 years and presents a systematic way of maximizing opportunities while minimizing risks for creating new demand in the marketplace.

Today I was on a Conference call and was able to multi task and present the "Blue Ocean
Strategy" to a client who was able to present it to the banking realignment of strategies after Covid-19: The presentation was totally impacted by the " Blue Ocean Shift"

Ohhhh my friend. You have given me some very good insight and possibly helped me in coming up with a blue ocean strategy.
I was going to focus on a very limited pool of people... like "affiliate martkers" .... but instead - I'm thinking it might be better if I focused on the group that isn't served (small businesses). WHICH IS HUGGEEEEEE. My friend. Thank you very much.

I proudly work for a Dunia Finance LLC based at Abu Dhabi, UAE. It very closely follows the BOS. May be a few things needs to be adjusted but applaud to the higher management to think ahead of times and lay down a strategy that is working for al be it Shareholders, Stakeholders, Customers or employees.

It's certainly a great strategy as it considers the external environment of a company as well as the internal. I'm not sure though how it can be applied to public sector services such as water and electricity! Would it be limited to cost minimization? As trying to attract noncustomers (people who don't have access to reticulated or treated water) may involve significant or expensive capital input.

Strategy is simply deciding as and when the situation comes. But one has to plan his strategies so that , things when abruptly come in can be taken care of.
Blue strategy is simply....creating a working environment, a business environment where the competition is not unhealthy , rather it is not at all fiercely competitive. It is when all work together , even competitive companies in the same industry, the no.1 and the no. 2, working healthfully to create value ,profitability and growth for all.

Interesting but sounds a lot riskier e.g. de-segmenting the market, targeting non-customers, creating demand and affording innovation are such huge costs with high risk. I also loved the idea of high value with low cost (50:20) and would like to explore operational effectiveness in blue ocean strategy.
